Man, they did such a good job of weaving old and new lore together here. What Lingsha’s master did also explains so much more about Dan Heng-I think that when he was initially reborn, he inherited the Imbibitor Lunae powers due to the sabotage of the Preceptors but was mentally a blank slate without any idea of how to use them. Lingsha’s master allowed him to get a grasp of them, which would prove vital for his survival in exile and justify why he seemingly had an instinctual knowledge of how to split the sea back before the Phantylia fight.
I think this latest pair of patches is Hoyo's way of making up for the lackluster Loufu introduction. Honestly the best part of that arc were the Stellaron hunters and Phantylia showing up out of left field was so random at the time. I think that's why they teased the Annihilation gang then shelved them before Penacony as a way of showing off future villains instead of following in the Phantylia problem.
@@noahmehringer29 Yeah, I definitely agree. I think the same logic is in operation with their decision to let us meet some Yaoqing and Zhuming characters before we actually visit their ships. That way we have proper buildup for knowing their worlds and problems before we enter future sectors of the Xianzhou storyline.

I'm convinced that Lingsha had enough of everyone's BS and just wants to get it done as soon as possible. Like imagine she just transfered to Loufu and is already in a case with Borosin, Sanctus Medicus shenanigans, and of course treating people lol
I like that she realized she was in the wrong after Jing Yuan just plain told her what happened. Instead of total disbelief or denial, she had a moment of "Oh...I've kinda been a passive aggressive bitch to the Loufu and its ways..." Also liked that Jing Yuan admits he let the Sanctus medicus run afoul for too long. His humility in these affairs is something I appreciate, but it really makes me wonder if they'll hit him with mara sickness later in the story.
Can't really blame her.
Wow, Zhuming is ruthless. It's no wonder why Huaiyan didn't get mara-struck all these years.
