    Culture is main teststone, Kushans and Shakas etc when accepted indian culture, became Indians and Turks and Mughals never did so, on the contrary they punished and tortured people if they followed Indian culture !
    PS: Those who are saying culture is just an idea, badly need to follow Jaipur Dialogues and their thoughts on "Idea of India cannot be bigger than India" 😂. Culture is not just a thing, you need to move with your whole Kunba just because you don't have Arab culture with you, if Arab culture is in majority; and if you don't need to move despite having culture "different" from your neighbor then both of you are Hindu (this stmt is for giving a broader idea of situation)!

    Plural forms in indian languages are used not only to represent multitude but also to convey a general feeling of respect in comment section.

    Initially Akbar was a Ghazi but with experience he transformed into a Kaafir. He promoted Indian culture and that is the reason why he was called Kaafir by muslim scholars. He banned cow slaughter. He worshipped Ganges and Sun ☀️ god. He was a vegetarian. He allowed his wife Harkai Bai to follow Hinduism. His close friends were Birbal and Abul Fazal who were liberal minds of that period. He choose Khusrau Mirza as his successor over religious fanatic Jahangir. He founded new religion called Din i illah e that was a blasphemy in Islam. He issued Ram Sita coins. Out of nine navaratnas, four were hindus. He built many hindu temples for Mariam Ul zamani. He was a Ghazi in early phase of his life and he murdered 30,000 unharmed combatants after the fall of Chittoor. But later he commissioned Statues to honour great rajput warrior Jaimal Rathore and Patta Sisodia, heroes of Siege of Chittoor in his Kaafir phase. He also built a temple for this great warriors. Stamp out Indian culture? What nonsense!!!!! Yes, he was outsider (father Turk, mother Farsi). Yes, Persian and Turki were his languages. But he did not stamp out any Indian culture. He promoted them (Kathak (the Muslim version), Urdu, Biryani, Jadau jewellery, Mughal style architecture being some examples). Yes, a lot of inter mingling of cultures happened. Indian and Persian cultures coalesced and an Indo-Saracenic culture developed. Yes, I agree that native Indian culture was the less visible one here, but it was there definitely.
    For that not to happen (at least not in that manner), we Indians should have had the sense to UNITE and fight the outsider, which happened ONLY under Gandhi. Even the 1857 the first war of independence/sepoy mutiny, was an uncoordinated revolt.
    Also, Akbar was not simply fighting inside India 'to stamp out Indian culture' - yes, he was ambitious and was keen on furthering his empire and, in doing so, he ended up uniting India as well. He also fought battles against Pathans (read Muslims) of Bengal and Bihar and fought Uzbeks (read Muslims) in the north western frontiers of India.
    The stories you guys weave... your prejudice!!! Stop reading in black and white terms. There's a lot of grey shades there.
    Aurangzeb was an absolute ass - on that, I am with you. But Akbar?

    • @baansurii
      @baansurii 5 місяців тому +1

      Adding to your list - he also built temples (like the Govind Deo Temple, Mathura), got Sanskrit epics translated into Persian, hosted religious debates, introduced Hindu rituals and festivals in the Mughal court. I would say he did a lot to promote Indian culture - the present city of Vrindavan was literally revived and rebuilt on his orders, Sanskrit education flourished with schools being opened for all, the library he built had over 20,000 volumes in several languages, and his own biography details the beliefs of all the six schools of Indian philosophy - native Indian culture was pretty visible, in my opinion. Also, the fact that Akbar was constantly dragged through the mud by the Islamic orthodoxy of his time for being "too Hindu" and a "danger to Islam", all because of his syncretism! Source being the Muntakhab-ut-Tawarikh by Badauni, Akbar's courtier and fierce critic of his religious policy. Ironic how he was, and still is, hated by extremists of both religions.
