For the first game: My interpretation is that the ghost girl is the protag's deceased friend (you can see them both in the photo next to the protag's hospital bed), who seems to have been SA'd and killed by a teacher. Why a teacher? Well, the flower that you return to the friend (which itself may symbolize her virginity, or even just her innocence) was found in a desk within what appears to be the staff room. The protag definitely tried to hang herself out of grief (another detail that I just noticed was that she seemed to be staring at her friend's desk at the start), and on her journey back to the waking world, she comes to learn the truth behind her friend's death, and is rightfully terrified when she awakens to the perpetrator sitting by her bedside.
I know this is an old comment but if you look at the knife in the mannequin it's the same knife that the man is using to peel the fruit by her bedside that he puts down on the table
I wanted to point out the flower motif throughout the story of the first game. They’re seen as beautiful and all that stuff that you expect and they’re used to symbolize blood in the first game. Flowers are also often used in literature to symbolize virginity. So, if we go with the theories that the man at the end is either her father or her teacher, we can assume that he has in fact sexually harassed her in some way. If it’s her father, the women who was stabbed was her mother - possibly killed I. An argument. But, if it’s her teacher, then it could be him doing the same to other students and being even more sadistic than just sexual harassment. He student who had a knife could symbolize a death - either hers or a loved one - the hanging version of herself could be her feel of being complete wrong, harassed, unflowered. And the girl she gives the flower to could be another victim. BUT THATS JUST A THEORY!!!
Yea h the flower is most definitely virginity. I see it as a girl and her best friend. Her best friend is raped and killed by her teacher which she witnesses but being a young girl is not able to do anything to help. The teacher knows he has been seen and attempts to kill the main character and make it look like suicide. He is however caught in the act and has to make it look like he was saving her. He went with her to the hospital to make sure she didn’t wake up but when she did he had no choice but to kill her with the knife he way using to peal apples. In the dream the main character attempts to help her friend find piece and make up for not being able to help before by finding her flower for her and letting her rest.
who cares, it's cheesecake. if i was cursed to be lactose intolerant. i would die, or have some intestinal pain, because cheesecake is what makes life worth livin.
Reminds me of a D&D character in one of my old parties that made a modified crossbow that used swords. Nothing quite like stabbing someone from 200 yards away.
He stood on the sink and was like :"I BET MY PET GOLDFISH IS IN THERE SOME WHERE!" And dove headfirst into the toilet 5mins later he made It down the toilet
Sakura no Gakkou - School of Sakura The monster was her teacher, the girl who needed the flower was her friend, she tried to hang herself, then when she lived the teacher killed her I’m guessing her friend is dead? Considering how she faded
Old comment but putting in my two cents. I think you're right. I believe her best friend was raped and killed by the teacher, and the main character found out. She attempted suicide, but survived and awoke in the hospital. Her teacher was waiting for her and, after she woke up, raped and (possibly) killed her as well. You can tell it's the teacher from the uniform, and her best friend was in a photo.
Here's something interesting: "Sakura no Gakkou" (さくら の がっこう) means "Cherry Blossom School" And those "roses" We're actually cherry blossoms. It makes sense if you think about it. Cherry blossoms are also I sign of letting go and relief. That's how giving the cherry blossom to the girl helped her move on. 🍒🌸
First game- my guess is that her teacher sexually abused her and her friend and she hung herself but survived and her friend didn't- So in the beginning you see the same shirt the guy has in the end meaning it was indeed a teacher . when she sees him her heart starts racing out of fear and the fact that he just invades her personal space like that on a bed is what makes me think of sexual abuse. especially since when he gets closer he turns into a monster. In her dream state the ghost is the girl you see in the picture near her bedside. It's probably a classmate who was also abused and did manage to kill herself.
ItsPEMBitch Actually, the creator explained that the teacher murdered her friend, and she hung herself to help her friend get out of limbo, but in the end, the teacher killed her anyway.
RealMartialNova okay normally I would be annoyed by something like this because people like to correct everyone but you explained it very well so I’ll accept it lol
Strawberry flavored Clorox bleach actually English is not my first language so i don't mind getting corrected at all (well... at least when swear words are not involved...)
Mark's brand is: *- Scared meme faces whenever you pause the video* *- Priceless horror sound effects* *- Toilets* *- Comedy gold* Please add to his list of awesomeness!
No one has really said anything about the second game, so I'll just voice my interpretation. Ever since the creepy voice started talking, I automatically assumed the character had schizophrenia. As the game continued, my assumption became clearer especially when the knock on the door was the guy on the floor; however, when he pulls the blanket down, we can see that the guy on the floor is us. What I assume the game is about is that the main character has schizophrenia and while on a business trip of some sort with a buddy, they had an argument where the friends stepped out. The reason why the room is a mess is because of his anger, the main character entered some sort of anger-schizophrenic like haze where he wrecked the room. Based on where the injury is and the broken window, I assume that during his outburst, he must have broken the window at some point, and used the window glass to hurt himself. Because suicide isn't forgiven in most religions, he is stuck in some sort of hell/purgatory world and is bound to relive what he as done to himself, since the creepy voice says "end game" and "reset" while the character shows shock and fear. I do see where my theory has flaws and its why I have an alternative theory in which the main character was on a trip of some sort with a friend, but instead of a heated argument, the buddy must have left and since the main character has schizophrenia and was left alone, the voice in his head (the creepy one) got the best of him. Because the voice got the best of him, he was trying to silence it, thus trashing the room. At one point in trashing the room, he must have wanted to silence the voice, and in a desperate moment, broke the window and stabbed himself to end his misery. I know being stabbed where he is wouldn't be a quick death or anything, but assuming that the glass was the only weapon available, so he worked with what he had and maybe tried to locate the heart. Like I mentioned earlier, suicide isn't forgiven in most religions, therefore he is stuck in some sort of hell/purgatory world and is bound to relive what he as done to himself.
This genuinely deserves likes, even so much later, because of much sense this actually makes. You just made that game much clearer, and I really do agree with both those theories
桜(sakura, which was in the title)means cherry blossoms in Japanese, so I'm sure those were cherry blossoms. In Japan, many schools have cherry blossom trees.
I think it's her teacher, and the picture showed the girl with the flower. Maybe he attacked the two of them and killed the flower girl accident or not, he then probably kept on eye on the character as he seems like the homeroom teacher. She ended up hanging herself but survived and then he visited her in hospital to finish the job. Sorry guys I only looked at what I had written just there, so I had to add what I'd left out.
Brandon Coburn yes but the guy tried to make it seem like a suicide to cover up the murder cause her friend was stabbed and they tried killing her but it didn't work and she woke up with the killer with her to finish the job
i think the same too!! the story appears to be based around the Main character, flower girl and the teacher. i actually commented this on bijuu mikes earlier vid of sakura no gakkou but i want to c on tr i bu t e. Anyways, The two girls are probably best friends, as in the end, you see a snippet of a picture in the corner where the two are pictured beside one another. The flower girl is dead as she is represented by the ghost and a stabbed doll while the main character attempted to kill herself (Although the idea that the teacher may have attacked the main character and tried to frame her death as a suicide also incredibly plausible, but at the same time it is also plausible that she just grew weary of the teacher possibly coming after her and decided to end it all, though there isn't much evidence supporting that idea) and hung herself in the art room, which is why you see her hanging there during the game and why she has bruises around her neck in the end. As for what happened to the flower girl, the teacher killed her. This is because-- 1. The doll that is meant to represent flower girl (as it also has a red flower it it's hair) is stabbed with a pocket/flip knife like the one the teacher is using to peel apples in the end 2. In order to send the ghost away, you need to find her red flower which is located within the desk of a teacher in the teacher's "lounge" which would make sense if the teacher killed her as he might've stowed it away as a sick prize of some sort. It's also worth mentioning that after you hand her the flower and send her away, only then does the teacher/monster chase you which could imply he knows that the main character found out about the murder and was after her, or simply was a manifestation of her fear of said teacher. 3. it makes sense why the girl is terrified of him at the end, and why his image flickers to that of the monster. 4(ish). this is kind of a leap, but if the main character did find out about the murder, it would make sense why she has to sneak around the monster at the one part because it could represent the main character being cautious around the teacher/trying to avoid him altogether. but thAT S JUST A THEORY--- *A GAME THEORY*
I also think the same but with a few different opinion. 1) I think the teacher is probably some sexual predator that hunt on the PC and her best friend. 2) The teacher once raped her friend, but the school probably decided to cover it up to protect the teacher name and school name. 3) Because the teacher is well known for his "good behavior", the whole classmate didn't trust the victim. So the girl suicide by stabbing herself, and the table and chair surround the doll probably signify bullying. 4) PC find out her friend die or probably that friend of her might be her sister, PC decide to commit suicide during art class or in the art class. 5) PC uncover the truth by finding a piece of evident under the teacher desk (the flower) and the teacher begin to hunt PC down. 6) Teacher successfully captured PC and the end.
It seems like Japanese schools are either nice places where one usually finds love with a childhood friend or such, _or_ they're a portal to a hellish nightmare dream world. I've yet to see any middle ground. EDIT: Well I guess there was High School of the Dead where it was the starting point for the protagonists in the zombie apocalypse, but, not much better than the nightmare dream world, really.
I immediately thought of Persona 3, where it jumps between both states, but indeed there is no middle ground. Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight.
Mark: "Where's an interior decorator when you need one??" *Jacksepticeye bursts through the wall covered in drywall and wielding a sledgehammer* Jack: "Honey... I'm trash!" *Seinfeld theme earrape plus a laugh track ensues*
For SNG I think the suicide one was close to what it was about... I think the body with the petals around it was the girl’s mother that was abused/killed, shown later by you having to give her a flower, and the monster represented her father. The young girl tried to hang herself because of the depression from her mother’s death, as shown in the one room, but lived, going into comatose, and when she wakes up, she thinks it’s over but she can only see her father as a monster and dies.
Goose Guus To make a slight addition to your hypothesis, she ended up in the hospital after her failed attempt and died of shock when seeing her father. A severe PTSD reaction. (The marks around her neck in the hospital, not sure if you noticed those.)
Maniacman2030 Yeah, heart attack, PTSD, the rope burns around her neck was what made me believe more that she tried to kill herself. The body with the flowers though could’ve been the young girl also because of the knife into the heart area, but the ghost wanting the flower is weird and makes me think her mother was a victim of the monster/father
Also, the knife in the woman, presumably her mother’s body, was the same knife her father was using to peel the potato with! More imagery to back up the claim!!
Mark never ceases to amaze with how little information he actually remembers after reading a note. It's like he's ONLY reading it to us, not to himself
La hacienda (pronounced ah-see-end-ah, the h is silent MARK) can mean ranch or farm or plantation but it can also mean like a tax collection agency, I think the story is about someone living in squalor with severe problems, mental and maybe drug problems too (they often go hand in hand, many drug addicts have untreated mental health problems and use drugs to self medicate) and as a result has their daughter taken away from them by the state, which could make the version of the title make sense. I think they had the silver amulet as maybe a family heirloom or something and were trying to pawn it off for money to clean up their life and get their kid back but failing as just having a little extra money doesn't fix the underlying mental problems the person has that makes them unfit to be a parent. The other woman trying to protect the daughter is probably her foster mom or a social worker and the PC sees her as the "enemy" who is "taking her child away" and convinces herself that her daughter is being kidnapped when in reality she is being protected from neglect. Also "no" in Japanese means "of" or "from" so Sakura no gakkou directly means school of cherry blossom[s]" or Sakura from school, i.e someone's name from a school. So kind of saying "Sakura, the person I know from school" or something like that
Hey Mark! Since you love the first game so much, there's a game called Detention that's basically a longer, more in depth version of that type of scenario type of game. It's a Taiwan(ese) horror game, and I think you'd absolutely love it as a long lets play~!
Devin Asher, you can go get a look at it and watch it on Jacksepticeye's channel since he finished it a long time ago. It's a great game, to me at least.
I actually watched Cryaotic play that one. The setting is the same, though the story itself and the nightmare world are fundamentally different, namely because supernatural influences are involved in Detention.
@Surgeon Gamer When the girl wakes up in the hospital she has rope burn around her neck, and in the "dream" she was having, she saw herself hanging from the ceiling. In the "dream" world she was being chased by a terrible monster, but when she woke up and saw her father, then she saw him turn into the monster. My best guess is her dad was abusing her in some way, so she tried to hang herself at the school, but was found and saved. Once she woke up and saw her dad (the monster) she got so scared that she was going to continue to be abused, she had a heart attack and died. That's my personal best interpretation of the first game.
The way the father leaned over her as the demon was a position of leaning in to kiss them. The fact that she attempted to kill herself and her father then got ontop of her implies sexual abuse. The flower a symbol of innocence taken from her and she gave it back to herself who was crying. However i dont think it was a father seemed more like a teacher since the nightmare is at school.
I hate it when flashlights go out during horror games because because they never warn you about that beforehand and you end up using it all in the first 5 minutes 😂😬
Seems to me like the game is about a girl who is abused by her father an attempts suicide. The end gives that away. Also the way the monster chases her and when it catches her she holds her face and screams and it lashes out in a slapping motion, probably to signify her father striking her.
I'm sry but I'm the programmer and not the game designer/story artist. So I don't really know the full story, but basically the monster is the teacher and he had killed people in the school previously and the girl Yumi is the character you control in-game found out about her teacher. So now the teacher is going to get her.
Theory: Room 303 is based off of Room 101 from the novel 1984. This was a room that encompassed anyone’s deepest fear that entered it. In this case, 303 is 101*3, and there are revealed to be three copies of the man in the room.
Daniel Strangers once you enter the room, you experience your worst fear as a way to torture you. It’s a room used by the totalitarian government in the novel as a means of torture. Kinda scary 😬
i like the fact that Mark gives actual information about what he enjoyed and what might need to be patched. it helps game creators, in a kind way. on how to improve their game, to make it more enjoyable for everyone.
I see a lot on the first game, but not the second, so I'm gonna give my 2 cents and see what you all thinm My take is that the guy we're playing as has schizophrenia, he and a friend of his got in a fight and he shot him due to the voice in his head telling him to do so. It becomes more and more apparant as the game continues as the voice gets louder and more prominent, his dead friend starts to pop up in hallucinations and all of it amplifies to the point where the man shoots himself. The voice is more than likely not a demon, but the hallucinations of a schizophrenic person who made a mistake because their brain doesn't function the way a 'normal' brain does Or it's just a game on regret and I'm looking too into it
Officially Gracellot . What I thought was that he killed himself and had to live through this scenario over and over in hell/purgatory/whatever. This would explain the reveal that we were playing as 'Larry' and the demon-like voices. Neither of us explained the way the glass fell into the apartment though, so I'll have to put some more thought into it.
Usually, Schizophrenics are that violent just due to their illness alone, though I could see where it would come from. IF he was schizophrenic, I believe what might have happened is that they were on some sort of business trip (it looked a lot like a pretty nice hotel room) and the two started to quarrel. The fighting turned pretty violent (as the fighting in the room indicated) and one of them ended up stabbed. (I don't think they were shot for the simple reason they would be in a lot more trouble if they were shot, the loud sound would attract other patrons of the hotel.) He sort of came down from his angry spike and realized what he did. It wasn't an act of his illness as much as an act of anger. The glass is there because of the fight, they broke glasses and such, though that will get people involved, usually they won't be really pissed about it and just bill you, depending. Though this whole thing would work, it is also just as likely as his friend died due to suicide (I'll get to that more in depth in a minute) and being Schizophrenic he could have mentally blamed himself due to audio/visual hallucinations, he didn't see the body so he remembers their last outfit and an obvious place where blood is (like in the chest area) where, when he looks at it, he feels the guilt side of it. The glass and turned over furniture had a lot of random meaning, fights they've had and such. I don't have schizophrenia but I remember when someone I was very close to died due to cancer I had similar reactions. More dreams, but it still stands. The biggest issue with the schizophrenia thing is in general not all people have the same 'type' of schizophrenia. Not everyone sees people they shouldn't or hears things they shouldn't. There are tons of different combinations but there are several big checkpoints you have to have to fit into certain types. You can have auditory hallucinations, visual hallucinations and physical hallucinations, most often. Usually, the smell and taste can be accompanied and aren't types in themselves. Then there is paranoid and non-paranoid schizophrenia, paranoid schizophrenics are most commonly the result of heavy drug use but not always. There is also a form of self-harm, harming others and a third type which is just constant, but not a harm-based schizophrenia. They generally are well known as people based more on visual schizophrenia, though this is not always the case either. As well as all of that, there are plenty of mental illnesses like schizophrenia (some severe cases of PTSD and such) that can cause vivid hallucinations but are 100% not a schizophrenia reason. They are just a lot less well known. Good examples of this are people who wake up at night, screaming from past attacks they witnessed where they're being attacked or people who have been attacked waking up in full defence because they feel their attacker touching or holding them in place, even if they're dead or in prison they still feel, see, smell, taste, hear the sounds of the situation that gave them the PTSD. There are also cases of people who have had to kill people or see their friends dead (similar to people who used to be in the armed forced) who see their dead friends, just like they saw them when they had died. This is, again, extremely rare, but its possible the second game could be about someone with PTSD who came across their friend's body and constantly has to live with that sight, scared out of their mind they'll be blamed for it because they were supposed to be there with them. Something inside of them keeps screaming 'this is all your fault' or 'You should of been there' or 'you could have saved them' but thats not always true.
What about the window? when you break a window from the inside the glass goes outside the building. when you break a window from the outside the glass goes inside the room
PiggyPeep fun fact when I was little I would stand as far as I could from the toliet as I flushed it and then ran cause I thought it would eat me.... the toliets with the sensor (they call them eyes here, didn't help) scared me to death first time I saw one... still make me uneasy lol but I obviously got over the whole toliet eating me thing
I thought her sensei was like sexually assaulting her and she was trying to escape through suicide and he killed her when she woke up before being able to tell others Maybe her friend was a victim too?
12:28 Did someone say *demon* ? Let me help you with that problem: *_Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica, ergo draco maledicte, ut ecclesiam tuam secura, tibi facias libertate servire, te rogamus, audi nos!_*
Why was the glass blown inwards, and why was it broken in the first place? Where is the weapon he used to kill himself? Why in the chest of all places? There are too many facts that don't match up if he committed suicide.
Abt the first game: I don't think it was her dad, it probably was her teacher (we can see him in the intro sequence), and her friend (girl with the flower) was killed by him. And she probably saw it happen. She tried to commit suicide, out of grief, but failed. And the teacher is back to finish his work. I may be wrong about everything else, but it is *definitely not her dad, it's teacher.*
I like to think that there was very little symbolysm and metaphors. The girl tried to kill herself because her friend died, while in this limbo hellscape she found the ghost of her friend and helped her pass on by giving her a flower, one that she was wearing in the pictureframe. While there she was haunted and chased by an evil spirit, and as she escaped limbo into the living world, since the monster was literally right behind her it followed her out.
Mark: *Hears toilet flush* "Ohhhhhhh s@#$, Larry!! Larry!" *Runs to the bathroom* "Oh Larry, you've always wanted swim with the fishes!" Me: "While your down there can you find my birthday gold fish from 3 years ago, thanks."
As soon as the first game started and she went into the dream world thing, my stomach growled and it made it sound like actual growling noises and I got scared of my own stomach lmfao 😂😂😂
Mark in the first game, the monster/entity isn't her father, but it's her teacher from the beginning of the game (hint the silver badge on his left). The teacher IS the monster. The small details throughout the game point to this. We can even go as far as to say that he's a r*pist.
My theory about the first game is that she attempted suicide and her father (or whoever that is) "saved" her, but, as she didn't want to live, she views him as this monster because he wouldn't just let her die
That's how I interpreted it as well. In addition, I think she's literally trying to get into the afterlife after hanging herself and falling into a coma. She's able to help another soul to move on by giving her the spider lily, but is interrupted in her own journey by the monster trying to capture her (or bring her back to the living). Not sure what the ending meant though, since she apparently flatlined. Maybe upon waking up she was reminded of the monster by her father and simply died out of shock? :D

While there she was haunted and chased by an evil spirit, and as she escaped limbo into the living world, since the monster was literally right behind her it followed her out. No one else could see that she was being killed right there. Weither it disguised itself or was simply seen by other people as that man or it was right in front of that man I don't know.
The flower seems to be modeled after a red tulip or camellia; both of which (in flower language) symbolize love, passion, and maternal/feminine bonds. This might be a reversal where it instead represents lost innocence, life, bonds, and honor -- just given general japanese tropes. The PC could be symbolically returning this to her friend. The game is further described as "discovering troubling secrets about the school". The story seems to directly insinuate the teacher as an abuser or malignant figure of some sort, while also implying a former history of trauma or suicide amongst the female students. The PC is allegorically exploring their trauma -- either having been victimized, and/or unable to deal with the loss of a friend. The PC suffers strangulation trauma; similar to a failed suicide by hanging, or having been strangled by large hands. Should also point out the knife the teacher had, one could speculate that the teacher assaulted or coerced female students violently with that knife. There was a Yume Nikki vibe to this game, I wonder if that influenced the creator. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Hunter X the flower is actually a cherry blossom and in japanese culture they symbolize love as you just as you said I just thought I let you know what type of flower it was. "The more you know."
Im watching this on a tv by using chrome cast in a fort i made that is completely dark and shut off from all light. Im getting the full expierence, scary.
3 hours ago, a part of my family's house burnt down. But watching you helped me feel happy and a bit more calm after the fire. Even if you don't read this, thank you for being here for me.
At first glance, that second one seemed to me like a drunken alien just chucked a dead body into the window of your hotel room and yelled at you to make the guy not be dead anymore.
I always watched your videos about your dad dying and I never thought that it would actually happen to me but at 1:30 this morning I was listening to some voicemails of my dad dying and my mom came in and said "Aidan, your dads gone" I was ready for it because he was supposed to die 12 years ago when I was 2 when he got paralyzed and I understand your pain of your dad died ha no I've never empathized with someone's emotion so much before, you and jack get me through all of my emotions, thank you mark
I know you've probably heard this a bunch, but I'm so sorry for your loss. My grandpa died a couple months ago, so it's still pretty fresh. I kinda get what you guys have gone through, but like I said, I'm so sorry and it will get better.
Mark's constructive criticism is always so nice. Always makes sure to talk about what's being done right and what needs improvement, as constructive critism should be.
Maaaaark did you know that in some poorly constructed high rise buildings during some weather, their windows will implode because of the drastic opposing pressures on the window, and anyone standing in front of the window will get sliced to bits and die. I'm just guessing that's what happened to that guy. (I'm just speculating obviously I'm watching at the begining of Room 303)
BlazinGaminGirl playz it's only in high rise buildings on the upper floors because of the difference in air pressure inside the building from the outside.😂😂😂
My theory on the first game: I think the protag is being abused by her father (like Mark said) and she attempted suicide but lived. The girl she gave the flower to could possibly be her mother or her sister who is being abused alongside her. The dream world being a school could maybe be because school is where she is away from the abuse for a little while. The monster following her into the school could mean she felt it creeping into even the best parts of her life which ultimately drove her to attempt suicide. flowers represent innocence in a lot of contexts so i think she may have been trying to protect her sister/mother from the abuse by taking most of it for her. taking all the abuse also likely caused her to attempt suicide. when she wakes up in the hospital, you can clearly see marks around her neck. when she wakes up and sees her father again, she panics (possibly because she thought he would hurt her more after she attempted) and her body is too weak to handle the stress. the monster likely represents her father (maybe when he's drunk? maybe just in general). the instances where she tries to sneak past him is something i have to face myself (living in an abusive home) because getting caught means getting in trouble, being spoken to, etc. the parts where she is running from the monster could represent her trying to escape either literally or metaphorically. Anyways, just a theory!! Loved the atmosphere of the game and it really reminded me of Vocaloid songs I used to listen to which almost made it eerily nostalgic.
The first game the man is her teacher. It's just a thought and knowing Japanese culture. It could be he is predator hint why he turns into the monster at the end. The girls ghosts she see's are the ones before her. She tried to kill herself to escape that but failed. The knife was the teachers and so killed that one girl with the red flower.
That's sooo creepy. I think the Sakura no Gakkou implied abuse yes, maybe someone from school since it takes place there, and the dude has a uniform like outfit. Obsessive/aggressive boyfriend maybe?
I am the kind of person to never get scared because of the amount of scary movies I have watched and I’ve never screamed out of fear but somehow mark has been able to make me scream out of fear with that first game........
I've only watched the first game, he's about to introcude the second, but I had a thought and it feels like I should say it, so... It never occurred to me how much this must do for these people. Like, the first game had, what, seven people contributing to its creation? Maybe one or two more or less? Such a small project, so short and simple, there couldn't have been that much funding in it. Not to say it wasn't amazing; it absolutely was, as he said, but there couldn't've been too much funding behind it. So Mark playing these games gives the games exposure not available through too many other media outlets- like, of course it doesn't have to be Mark but, him playing that game did spoil it all, yes, and it won't be as genuine fear wise to play now, but it gives them recognition for the game they have made, and gives them recognition to literally millions of people, many of whom are sure to take interest in future projects, and help fund, and some of whom might just join their team. So Mark playing random, unknown games like this in a way gives the opportunity to these small teams to get that funding and be able to make bigger, better things. Or better things that are just as short, if that's their style. It gives them the recognition and, in turn, the funds necessary to turn game making into a career instead of a hobby. And though not everyone will appreciate that, both from the side of the developers themselves and the people here in Mark's comment section, I figure it's worth noting because I myself want to get into making games eventually, and I feel like the recognition of being in Mark's video would be amazing, and hella helpful. So, thank you Mark, for giving good games like this recognition, whether that's the intent or not.
I dunno. I watched the whole FNAF series, and MatPat's series, theories and all, before I played the games. The jumpscares and the mood still get me every time!
I was cruising the comments before finishing the video for explanation of the first game, saw this, was very confused. Now I'm just about to pee myself laughing.
Heyy!! I'm a smaller creator who wants to be like Other UA-camrs and I just posted "Fighting 10yearolds on roblox" and thought it would make ya laugh!! ❤️
The moment he started to explore the apartment, I was actually thinking about Silent Hill... and then that scene came lol. I was hoping, that he would also find it familiar, but oh well.
9:19 the girl standing with her in the picture looks like the same one that you have to give the flower too :( maybe it was her best friend mourning her death

That's what I ask myself while playing Bendy and am sure I just watched the ink demon sprint through the wall.
@@aleksthedead I definitely noticed that! How unnerving for it to be within reach of that monster, and for him to be alone with her.
Also the man at the end is wearing the exact same uniform as the teacher that leaves the room in the beginning
Honestly that makes a lot of sense since I was genuinely pretty confused so thanks for writing this!

Ya lol.
A GAME THEORY
I think it would make more sense if he was her father, because it would be odd for the teacher to go visit her in the hospital, I think. Idk

Sakura no Gakkou - School of Sakura
The monster was her teacher, the girl who needed the flower was her friend, she tried to hang herself, then when she lived the teacher killed her
I’m guessing her friend is dead? Considering how she faded
Phoenix Adams the monster was most definitely her dad
Phoenix Adams or...
She tried to hang herself but lived and when she exited the dream world she woke up in the hospital and she was abused by her dad
Flowers represent virginity in Asian culture. The flower which you gave to your friend was found in the teacher's drawer so.......
Phoenix Adams last I knew Sakura no gakkou was cherry blossom school or cherry school....
Here's something interesting:
"Sakura no Gakkou" (さくら の がっこう) means "Cherry Blossom School" And those "roses" We're actually cherry blossoms. It makes sense if you think about it. Cherry blossoms are also I sign of letting go and relief. That's how giving the cherry blossom to the girl helped her move on. 🍒🌸
Bruh
That's not the meaning of the game at all.......
The school's cherry blossom...
Why are people hating on this comment just let this person comment what they want- it doesn’t have to be something about the game..
@@Kimiiiiq I wasn't hating I promise I just want them to know what it's actually about I'm sorry....
First game- my guess is that her teacher sexually abused her and her friend and she hung herself but survived and her friend didn't-
So in the beginning you see the same shirt the guy has in the end meaning it was indeed a teacher . when she sees him her heart starts racing out of fear and the fact that he just invades her personal space like that on a bed is what makes me think of sexual abuse. especially since when he gets closer he turns into a monster.

That first game had an amazingly creepy atmosphere
Woeful Spirit76 you should watch his Dead Space playlist all 3
No one has really said anything about the second game, so I'll just voice my interpretation.
I feel like a bit too much glass is inside if it was broken from the inside, but the heavily implied fault of the player character is hard to argue.
Conor Colbert I agree, that comment deserved way more likes.
I know I’m really late but what about the gunshot at the end? That’s where I’m a little confused

"is that blood or just beautiful rose petals?" yes, rose petals. roses. in trees. yeah
I think he just meant flower petals, not Roses specifically. Flowers can blossom from trees
Cause roses are the only flowers that have "petals"...🤦
Well rose bushes can grow as large as trees
桜(sakura, which was in the title)means cherry blossoms in Japanese, so I'm sure those were cherry blossoms. In Japan, many schools have cherry blossom trees.

I think it's her teacher, and the picture showed the girl with the flower. Maybe he attacked the two of them and killed the flower girl accident or not, he then probably kept on eye on the character as he seems like the homeroom teacher. She ended up hanging herself but survived and then he visited her in hospital to finish the job. Sorry guys I only looked at what I had written just there, so I had to add what I'd left out.
shes in the hospital because she tried to hang herself, look at the neck
4(ish). this is kind of a leap, but if the main character did find out about the murder, it would make sense why she has to sneak around the monster at the one part because it could represent the main character being cautious around the teacher/trying to avoid him altogether.
but thAT S JUST A THEORY--- *A GAME THEORY*
stelliferous: Best theory...

A Tusken Raider Then you have a pretty high/low expectation in everyone's humor :|
A Tusken Raider, might wanna watch Jack play the house flipper series to get this a little more.
Maniacman2030 sounds ligit I want a sequel
Maniacman2030 Yeah, heart attack, PTSD, the rope burns around her neck was what made me believe more that she tried to kill herself. The body with the flowers though could’ve been the young girl also because of the knife into the heart area, but the ghost wanting the flower is weird and makes me think her mother was a victim of the monster/father
Also, the knife in the woman, presumably her mother’s body, was the same knife her father was using to peel the potato with! More imagery to back up the claim!!
Reminds me of a certain Vocaloid song...... (except the “mother part”)

According to google translate:
Sakura = Cherry Blossoms
Gakkou = school
Inagar = inquire
La hacienda = the ranch
*Dr Phil noises grow louder*
I love my hacienda.
'Sakura no Gakkou' roughly translates to 'Sakura's School' or 'School of Cherry Blossoms'
_two_ ranch replies, one of them being a Dr. Phil ref and one alter/bonus translation.
I love it
La hacienda (pronounced ah-see-end-ah, the h is silent MARK) can mean ranch or farm or plantation but it can also mean like a tax collection agency, I think the story is about someone living in squalor with severe problems, mental and maybe drug problems too (they often go hand in hand, many drug addicts have untreated mental health problems and use drugs to self medicate) and as a result has their daughter taken away from them by the state, which could make the version of the title make sense.

Same
Same thought
However i dont think it was a father seemed more like a teacher since the nightmare is at school.

zackwong100 can you explain it to me
Nice
If possible, please explain the game 😄

My take is that the guy we're playing as has schizophrenia, he and a friend of his got in a fight and he shot him due to the voice in his head telling him to do so. It becomes more and more apparant as the game continues as the voice gets louder and more prominent, his dead friend starts to pop up in hallucinations and all of it amplifies to the point where the man shoots himself. The voice is more than likely not a demon, but the hallucinations of a schizophrenic person who made a mistake because their brain doesn't function the way a 'normal' brain does
Or it's just a game on regret and I'm looking too into it
Officially Gracellot .
People are already writing books in the comments
Really reminded me of Jackie Estucado in some kind of purgatory
Mark says 'room' the same way kids try to make car revving sounds

"this place will eat you..."
Me: creepy
Mark: The toilets will too
Me: Huh
I actually watched Bijuu Mike play that one, and it STILL scares the heck outta me! XD
What you never be eaten by a toilet
PiggyPeep XDDDDDD
William Booth you say that like it's a normal thing for you.
“This place will eat you”
Markiplier: *YEAH apparently toilets do to!*
LOL
Crystal Gaming wait! I’m gotta run! RIGHT FREAKIN NOW! (You can guess why)
Toilets eat and drink so..
First game gets a solid 9 from me. Just wish it was longer.
I thought her sensei was like sexually assaulting her and she was trying to escape through suicide and he killed her when she woke up before being able to tell others
Maybe her friend was a victim too?

Did someone say *demon* ?
Let me help you with that problem:
*_Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica, ergo draco maledicte, ut ecclesiam tuam secura, tibi facias libertate servire, te rogamus, audi nos!_*
Just Eve uhm okay
*dies*
I'm guessing that's Latin, and I'm guessing you've just finished an exorcism.
*when you're too committed to the joke*
*Ah yes, I completely agree*
I've seen this a couple times, and only now have I realized that it's from Ben the Exorcist.
The animator for the second game did absolutely incredible at texture and shading and just all of it
AND IN ONLY SEVEN DAYS
✨*perfect*✨
In room 303 it seems like that he committed suicide and has to live with that forever ad is his personal hell
Who shoots themself in the chest to Kermit sewer slide
The thunbnail is Mark's version of Jack's Sam (septic eye)

Except the eye is actually a screaming mouth.
Mark: I'm just gonna back that ass up into the monster
Me: *Laughs hysterically*

Mark:He made it down he was a dreamer oh shit he did it he always dreamed

As soon as the first game started and she went into the dream world thing, my stomach growled and it made it sound like actual growling noises and I got scared of my own stomach lmfao 😂😂😂

Subtitles: Aight, time to obscure your vision for a solid few seconds
That made me turn off the subtitles. I like that they add funny stuff, but, never block what's happening on the screen, that's a mistake.
IM WHEEZING OVER THIS
Mark in the first game, the monster/entity isn't her father, but it's her teacher from the beginning of the game (hint the silver badge on his left). The teacher IS the monster. The small details throughout the game point to this. We can even go as far as to say that he's a r*pist.
"you fine then?" glowing girl crying by herself in corridor. NOPE.
No one else could see that she was being killed right there. Weither it disguised itself or was simply seen by other people as that man or it was right in front of that man I don't know.
Essi K. The flower she gave the other girl wasn't a spider lily it was a cherry blossom they look very similar so I can why you might mixed them up
I just think that her dad was abusive and the monster in her dream was him because when she was caught, it slapped her.
Ummm guys her dad was using the knife that was in the mannequin to peel apples.
The red flower means death and by giving the other girl (yourself) your giving her death
Thy King I thought it was unfinished business, when her business was finished she poofed.
No the red flower was her friends flower you saw it in the pictureframe at the end.
"LARY NOOOO!! he's a dreamer his a dreamer snd he made it down I believed in him now he's swimming with the fish"😂😂😂
Im watching this on a tv by using chrome cast in a fort i made that is completely dark and shut off from all light. Im getting the full expierence, scary.

So sorry hope you and your family feel and get better soon
At first glance, that second one seemed to me like a drunken alien just chucked a dead body into the window of your hotel room and yelled at you to make the guy not be dead anymore.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE COMMENTS SOLDIER?!?!?

Aidan Bardoff I’m sorry to hear that I hope you’re doing better
My grandma died 3 years ago and I understand, I'm assuming you get this a lot but I'm so sorry to hear that.
Mark's constructive criticism is always so nice. Always makes sure to talk about what's being done right and what needs improvement, as constructive critism should be.
"I'm a brave boy, but something tells me that's bad."
Siren starts and world changes to a hellish version. Yep, someone played silent hill.
Oh.... Im screwed then, cuz i have alotta windows in my house...
BlazinGaminGirl playz it's only in high rise buildings on the upper floors because of the difference in air pressure inside the building from the outside.😂😂😂
That's bad
BlazinGaminGirl playz don't worry the pressure won't get that bad at that lowof an altitude... unless a tornado or hurricane comes...
First game reminds me of Corpse Party 🤔
A Vsaucy Boi
i thought that too, mostly the part where he was walking from one building to the other with all the trees outside
I'm not a weeaboo but yeah it does and it's a good anime
A Vsaucy Boi Yeah
Especially the bathroom, at least for me
A Vsaucy Boi yeah me to I want him to play corps party or at least white day

I read your comment with your name
“Remember when drunk minecraft was a thing, Becuase I Can”
I still love it!
Ah the good old days. Back when Mark could safely drink
My theory on the first game:
I think the protag is being abused by her father (like Mark said) and she attempted suicide but lived.
The knife was the teachers and so killed that one girl with the red flower.
brooksdragonfly ohhhhh
I just thought he raped her to death at the end XD
That's sooo creepy. I think the Sakura no Gakkou implied abuse yes, maybe someone from school since it takes place there, and the dude has a uniform like outfit. Obsessive/aggressive boyfriend maybe?
Mark is the type of person that can make a scary game hilarious QuQ
I am the kind of person to never get scared because of the amount of scary movies I have watched and I’ve never screamed out of fear but somehow mark has been able to make me scream out of fear with that first game........
Demon: "R-R-RESET"
Gun: **Pop**
Mark and I: "What the actual hell..."
Silent well damn you just wrote a full on book lol
Goku *·* ...
I was thinking the same thing! Like that's the first thing that came to my mind and it's really amazing.
I dunno. I watched the whole FNAF series, and MatPat's series, theories and all, before I played the games. The jumpscares and the mood still get me every time!
Mark play Alone in the Dark 1992 it's very "scary" and the monsters are "horrifying"
Zion Leach sounds "cool"
Yeah. I am "excited."
I’m sure it super “scary”
Hope he “sees” this
Mark if you read this i put quotations because it's not exactly scary any more and the monsters are cartoonishly goofy.
1:57. Could not stop laughing at that. Just casually walking along and fall to your death.
Maybe the guy upside down in the toilet thought he could use gravity to keep the poopy in?
Pfft😂😂😂😂😂
I was cruising the comments before finishing the video for explanation of the first game, saw this, was very confused. Now I'm just about to pee myself laughing.

If you type it in Google translate and translate English it is actually cherry blossom school
Mark: Welcome to *RUM* 303 Yes i pronounce *RUM* that way but thats not the point here
"My pet goldfish is down there somewhere!"
*To be continued...*
That last game was def trying to be Silent Hill with the sirens and wall textures changing... Weird that it ended the way it did though lol.
The moment he started to explore the apartment, I was actually thinking about Silent Hill... and then that scene came lol. I was hoping, that he would also find it familiar, but oh well.
Tbh honest, Mark, i miss it when you wear your glasses cuz I grew up watching your videos with your nerdy and INVINCIBLE GLASSES!!!
9:19 the girl standing with her in the picture looks like the same one that you have to give the flower too :( maybe it was her best friend mourning her death
