Ok... I'm jealous that you both have such great "planty friend"... Good friend are hard to come by, but a friend that shares in the same hobby and can step in and help like Claire did is just priceless ❤
Firstly, a big round of applause to Claire, for doing such a great job acclimating and looking after those plants 👏👏 And Emma, you are going to love that domesticum when the leaves get large, as, in my opininion, it has the best variegation on a yellow variegated plant. what a fab collection, and your reaction to the clemensiorum was priceless. I think you should do an import "looking after" for Claire, that would be great to see. Enjoy your new plant babies ☺
Your plant #2 is a schismatoglottis I think, schismatoglottis and homalomena are both aroids (as you know) but they're from different lineages (not closely related in their aroideae subfamily) that happens to be occupying the same habitats (Sympatric speciation?). So they ended up looking very similar by convergent evolution, both usually having multiple rows of parallel venation running from the midrib to the edges. So it can sometimes be hard to identify when they're collected from the wild since they both grow literally next to one another. Though I think their stems look completely different though, plus I find homalomena leaves to be a more cordate shape whilst schismat. leaves are more enlongated.
Oh that hoya retusa! It's become one of my favorites! It's bloomed several times for me in the half year I've had it and it smells AMAZING!! I hope you enjoy it! Also you've 100% convinced me to get a fat boy lol
This is a fantastic tip to add to the tips for people doing imports: get a buddy! You never know. This exact same thing happened to me with my first big hoya import from Thailand. It takes months for the order to ship and the suddenly it does. I was going out of town for a few days and in complete panic they would arrive while I was gone. I lined up a plant friend to come get the box and do exactly what Claire did for you. Turned out they arrived a day before I left. But I felt better having my "import buddy" just in case!
Oh my goodness! That for me was the most exciting and of the charts video! Those Hoya’s are flipping stunning creep’s,love them so much! I teared up when Emma gave Claire the Fatboy as a gift,I was such a beautiful moment! Love you two! 💚🪴 Natalie
Agreed! It's the combination of an import haul + a 6 week update, seeing how they looked back then and seeing Claire's stress and method of acclimating, and how it looks like when Emma received it, it's so entertaining!
Loved your unboxing and collaboration with Claire! I have a Hoya retusa (northern hemisphere) hanging in SW facing window. The individual flowers are beautiful and flower every autumn and flowered the second year I had the plant and ever since. One of my favourite Hoyas!
Loved this video! What a journey these plants have been through, and it’s so nice to see them being unboxed and to see their journey! Also love the videos with both of you together, keep up the great collabs!
For the bags I would suggest ziploc bags. They come in larger sizes and no need for the taping to the pot as you can put them in and zip up the bag, then open to air every few days. I'm surprised they don't ship them a little better to avoid them being flattened so much, like in a roll of cardboard. The Philodendron Martianum is a gorgeous plant!
Hi Emma. When I saw the little single flowers of the Hoya retusa I remember where I had recently seen it. I was watching Ric’s Hoyas in Florida and I’m sure it was in this garden tour and he mentioned that it constantly bloomed. See if you can find the video, you’ll love the plant even more.
I’m sure the process differs greatly between US and UK customs, but I think the US only checks the roots. My latest import had all of the root bags slashed open because they were looking for potato cyst nematodes. They could be looking for specific pests that pose a greater agricultural threat to your country.
I just heard you say you have Peach certs. Have you ever thought about becoming a distributor for some of the Asian imports? Would be a great side hustle and a great service for people who might want to buy imports
Oh the domesticum, this has been on my wishlist for about 2 years, maybe more common here in Australia? the price has dropped a lot here so maybe a birthday present to self at last lol. I gather they're pretty hardy!
Check out Alocasia Scalprum, I think that might be the wrong spelling if you look for info. Had one , not anymore, it did not like shipping and I couldn't save the corm , but they are cool, glad it made it for you both. Nice haul. After watching , my hubby just happened to take me plant shopping, and they had some hoya retusa there so I scooped one up. I didn't know they flowered so differently either and looks so beautiful when it does. Thank you both for sharing.
Yeah I think that’s what it is, sometimes Asian sellers have slightly different spellings of the names. Ooh awesome that you got a retusa as well! Such gorgeous plants!
What a fun video and I always love watching the two of you when you collaborate. Still is not going to get me to import…however I might do so eventually for some of the Hoya I want.
Domesticum are super easy! Just treat it like you would your other philos, it's very similar to burle Marx in a lot of ways. But very low maintenance, allow to dry partially before rewatering, filtered light/partial direct sun it's not that bothered xx
Great video, as always!! Would love to see this the other way around!! Love watching yall together!! And how wonderful to have a friendship like you ladies have!! 🪴🌿💜💞🌿🪴
I’m sooo jealous right now 🙃 that clemensiorum is gorgeus and on top of my wish list for quite some time 😣 hope I’d get my hands on one soon 🤞🏻 lastly, thank you for the video, very much enjoyed watching ❤️
Can you show how to propagate plants that are not as straightforward as just cutting a node? Like the philodendron fat boy, Philodendron Melinonii, cactus, succulents, alocasia, etc. that would be awesome thanks!
Ooh yeah I can defo do something like that. I do have an alocasia propping video already so check that out but I’ll have to experiment with those sorts of philos 💚
I really enjoyed watching you guys. I’ve been missing watching 2 British gals ever since Two Fat Ladies (It was a cooking show you can find on UA-cam). They were hilarious and entertaining as you two are. You might consider filming more content together. Thanks
I’ve found my domesticum pretty undemanding, in fact it’s pretty drought tolerant.. I have mine on a pole and yes they size up pretty quickly… the variegation is seemingly pretty random so don’t be dismayed if a mostly green one comes out cuz the next one will be 3/4 yellow, next one splashy… The scindapsis had customs tape on the paper so they looked but got lucky there
Yeah I really don’t understand what they’re doing at customs if they didn’t find those mealies even after they checked! So odd! Thanks for the domesticum advice! I think ima get it on a pole quickly
I legit have aroid asia open on my web browser at the moment because I'm dreaming of a nice strawberry shake and red anderson! been waiting for the prices here to come down but Im stalking import sites x3
Your crusty dusty hoya 😂 I got the exact plant but slightly greener recently from overseas but it lost a lot of leaves and is leggy... I'd be interested to see how you get on with it. Mine didn't come with any roots but I've propped it in water in a prop box ... also not sure if I like it either😂😂 mine was called Hoya Callistophyla Gunung. Honestly I don’t know what I’d do without her in my life 🥰
I think Joli was upset you didn't introduce her at the beginning 😂 she was with Claire waiting to be introduced I think 😂 ❤
I was thinking of the same thing!
Hahaha I should have included the classic jungle haven Joli wink 😉

6:55 Joli's little snoot in the corner made me smile 💕
She’s so adorable huh!
That last hoya is AMAZING. I know it's a little creepy but how cool? I want one so badly now!
OHHHH SNAP!! Two of thee MOST AWESOME Plant Parents in one video!!
I’m speechless and LOVE IT 🙌🙌🌿🌱🍃

That clemensiorum is beautiful! I have one and it’s one of my favorites. It gives that Jurassic World vibe.

I love dusty crusty hoyas, it looks fab!! All the plants look really good and love to see the progress ☺️
Yeah I’m v happy with them! Hope they do well in my home!

Yeah I’m so lucky that she was about! Having an import buddy is now my most important thing with any import 💚 glad your hoyas arrived safely!
I'm not usually a fan of Hoyas but that clemensiorum is SO stunning!
So happy to see both of you together & the plants...
Oh my goodness! That for me was the most exciting and of the charts video! Those Hoya’s are flipping stunning creep’s,love them so much! I teared up when Emma gave Claire the Fatboy as a gift,I was such a beautiful moment! Love you two! 💚🪴 Natalie

Haha yeah I guess it is all of that in one! Glad you enjoyed!
Yay! It was really fun to make as well 🥰 glad you enjoyed!
Plant friends are the best friends! ❤
Hoya Retusa is my all time favorite hoya. It's commonly called "grass leaf" hoya. ❤
Oooh that makes me even more excited for it!
Loved your unboxing and collaboration with Claire! I have a Hoya retusa (northern hemisphere) hanging in SW facing window. The individual flowers are beautiful and flower every autumn and flowered the second year I had the plant and ever since. One of my favourite Hoyas!
Hoya Retusa is now on my wishlist. So unusual and pretty.
That Hoya Clemensiorum is everything 😍😍😍
Your Clemensorium is absolutely Gorgeous
I love that last hoya. Love the prehistoric looking ones.
I love hoya retusa, it looks like trailing cheerleader pompoms.
It so does!
Loved this video! What a journey these plants have been through, and it’s so nice to see them being unboxed and to see their journey! Also love the videos with both of you together, keep up the great collabs!
Yeah I was so nervous when I realised they weren’t going to come in time

I believe they ship them like that so they can fit as many plants as possible into as small of a box as possible
Greetings from Puerto Rico!!! Such beautiful plants!!! Thanks to both of you for sharing!!! 🙋🏼♀️🪴💚🐩

The second hoya reminds me of a bugs wing. So weird, love it
Yes!! Looks so insecty
My hoya retusa was my first hoya to bloom! Love it!!
Those plants are awesome…esp the last 2. Thanks for sharing!

My latest import had all of the root bags slashed open because they were looking for potato cyst nematodes. oh how interesting! maybe they're not checking the foliage at all then 🤷♀️
I just heard you say you have Peach certs. Have you ever thought about becoming a distributor for some of the Asian imports? Would be a great side hustle and a great service for people who might want to buy imports

That last Hoya looks like it came straight out of Jurassic Park. T Rex Hoya. Love it.
🦖🪴
Omg the HOYA I bought it and the nursery called it a mistletoe cactus but I could tell it wasn’t……::it’s a RETUSA y’all are awesome 🫶🏽
Glad to help!

Same, only for the Hoya would I try lol
Yeah I find hoyas and anthuriums import the best in my experience
I’m so about that prehistoric Hoya 😃 great vid ;)
Loved this video! I enjoy both of your channels ❤

ooh thanks for the advice!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Hoya Retusa!

Yes! I’d love to import some plants for Claire! Would be so much fun!
OMG I LOVE THAT LAST HOYA!!!!
isn't it so weird!!!
@@GoodGrowing it's so groovy! Dinosaur vibes are always a winner 🦖🦕🌿

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you 🤞

Hi, I think the hamalomena needs more water. I have the common 'Maggie', I water it twice a week. If I forget it droops...
It's been in damp moss for the past several weeks... I think it may be that the roots haven't developed enough for it to properly hydrate 🤷♀️
I really enjoyed watching you guys. I’ve been missing watching 2 British gals ever since Two Fat Ladies (It was a cooking show you can find on UA-cam). They were hilarious and entertaining as you two are. You might consider filming more content together. Thanks
I'd love to film with Claire more! @thejunglehaven let's make it happen!
Claire is Amazing friend she is so amazing ❤❤❤❤soo sweet from u Emma giving Claire that plant 💚💚💚💚💐💯
Yeah I’m very lucky!
I’ve found my domesticum pretty undemanding, in fact it’s pretty drought tolerant.. I have mine on a pole and yes they size up pretty quickly… the variegation is seemingly pretty random so don’t be dismayed if a mostly green one comes out cuz the next one will be 3/4 yellow, next one splashy…

I have a domesticum varigated, and it thrives in pon😍💚💛
Oooh maybe I’ll put it in pon! Do you have it on a pole?
Not on a pole yet😉
I really want a Hoya Clemensiorum but they are hard to get in Germany and i am terrified of importing !
Yeah it can seem scary but I’ve found hoyas tend to import pretty well. Especially hardy ones like the clemensiorum
I like Clemensiorum the most.
Loved the video
Ladies, I think that first one is Alocasia scalprum
Yep 👍
it's scalprum :)
Clair, you look stunning. Are you wearing makeup or is it all natural?
Scindapsus tour please !
I have a scindapsus tour! go check it out!
Did she said who imported the plants?
I legit have aroid asia open on my web browser at the moment because I'm dreaming of a nice strawberry shake and red anderson! been waiting for the prices here to come down but Im stalking import sites x3
Let me know if there’s any you want me to test! 💚
Wicked haul 😍

Why use distilled water?
You two are so cute
🧐🤓
However is paying for these plants from Aroid Asia is either rich or coo coo
Hi first👍
