My salary is 53lpa in 2024. So, don't get get swayed/sad by the highest pay of 84lpa. Patience & persistence is important. Its good to be confidence but over-confidence like this would do more harm than good. Play a long game, keep your head down work hard. Your salary in college placement doesn't define you, and after 1st job, none in the interviewes would ask you from which college you attended or what was your result. Not more than that. My college highest package is like 64lpa. Second highest is like 48lpa. These packages are only for top 30-40/800 students in my college. Rest are like 20-10 lpa.

If you think a package of $120k pa is only good for basic survival then you need somebody who should manage your finances or probably you have no idea what $120k means in the United States. I deal with families everyday that live in the United States and earn less than $25k pa to help them apply for government sponsored welfare programs to help them with their utility and medical bills and that's what basic survival looks like that too with being able to afford the latest version of iphone. A package of $120k pa is a very good package even for somebody who has to live in NY or California where people who earn just $40k pa can easily get by. But yeah if you're not good with your money and you spend like there's no tomorrow then even a package of $1 million's not gonna be enough for you.

Even the average package of the same RVCE college which he is talking about is 7 lpa.. Median package would be much lower (< 5.5 lakhs).. The 98 lpa guy himself would have raised the average package..
It's a fact that RVCE gets the Cream of ComedK, so the recruiter are specifically told if they are going to Bangalore for recruitment then first prefer RV college then the rest. Also one more thing that works out for placement is there are less number of students than other colleges so the Recruiter are not over strained for the efforts they put in.

RVCE's CSE median package is quite good and is almost at par with Top NITs and lower IITs. The management quota does reduce the performance quite a bit tho.

Dude. First of all, middle class of India doesn't know difference between passion and motivation (psychology one, not self help one). They possess the motivation enough to be and remain in the field and grow (just like in any other profession), not the passion. For passion, you need enough time, money and resources and majority Indians can't afford passion and if they afford and then they still do engineering, they are just dumb or probably, getting into entrepreneurship. That's again, not passion. Passion comes from the work itself. An actual entrepreneur who has passion for it, would entrepreneur in any field, he won't mind if it is engineering or anything. He would learn selling and marketing and would crack any engineering exam that comes in his/her way because his/her goal is to think of ideas and get ahead no matter what, like competition. That is done for the sake of it, and to do anything so big for the sake of it, you need a lot of time, money and resources. So if you are from middle or upper middle class, then you are in no position of talking about passion.

*You are very ignorant. For KCET the fee is 4L, for COMEDK it's 8L, only for management quota it is 60-70 L, the management quota form only 25% of the students. The majority come through comedk and KCET. And there are ews/snq (5%) quota students who pay just 40,00 for 4 years. CSE average of RVCE is 20LPA even after the 25% management quota students, which speaks about the quality of RVCE*
I was passionate initially and even got a job in Kia but I didn't like it, It was a bad environment so I quit it and cracked a govt exam, I'm happy with my decision. I think life never goes the way you plan you've to change the course sometimes.

Nice, but harsh reality is for so called big packages is below- 1- Stock option for 40L (25% available in each year+ short term tax 20% when widraw) 2- Remaining 54L having 35-40% of tax around 20L 3- now you have in your bank acount 35L , those would be 2.75L per month. 4- Things are not as it is looking from distance 5- If a bussiness man is doing bussiness with 94L , he is not paying any taxes (seeting with CA) and mostly taking around 80L to home at the end of the year. So not to fall in this big scam . you are working 3 months for goverment in india for free and getting 9 month salary approx

It comes to 24 Lakhs per annum. 24 Lakhs - Fixed 5 Lakhs - Variable ( u might get 2,5 out of this) 40 Lakhs - 50000 USD - Yearly Stock for 5 years where each year 10000 USD vests. 30 Lakhs - 35000 USD - Special Stock for 4 years. NOTE if stock crashes 50%, you lose fifty percent of vested stock value.. After TAX, your take home will not even be 1 lakh per month.

RVCE's CSE median package is quite good and is almost at par with Top NITs and lower IITs. The management quota does reduce the performance quite a bit tho.

Dude. First of all, middle class of India doesn't know difference between passion and motivation (psychology one, not self help one). They possess the motivation enough to be and remain in the field and grow (just like in any other profession), not the passion. For passion, you need enough time, money and resources and majority Indians can't afford passion and if they afford and then they still do engineering, they are just dumb or probably, getting into entrepreneurship. That's again, not passion. Passion comes from the work itself. An actual entrepreneur who has passion for it, would entrepreneur in any field, he won't mind if it is engineering or anything. He would learn selling and marketing and would crack any engineering exam that comes in his/her way because his/her goal is to think of ideas and get ahead no matter what, like competition. That is done for the sake of it, and to do anything so big for the sake of it, you need a lot of time, money and resources. So if you are from middle or upper middle class, then you are in no position of talking about passion.

I was passionate initially and even got a job in Kia but I didn't like it, It was a bad environment so I quit it and cracked a govt exam, I'm happy with my decision. I think life never goes the way you plan you've to change the course sometimes.

Nice, but harsh reality is for so called big packages is below-
1- Stock option for 40L (25% available in each year+ short term tax 20% when widraw)
2- Remaining 54L having 35-40% of tax around 20L
3- now you have in your bank acount 35L , those would be 2.75L per month.
4- Things are not as it is looking from distance
5- If a bussiness man is doing bussiness with 94L , he is not paying any taxes (seeting with CA) and mostly taking around 80L to home at the end of the year. So not to fall in this big scam . you are working 3 months for goverment in india for free and getting 9 month salary approx
