"Well don't do that because they're rare... rocks, there's not many rocks." 😂😂😂
I could watch these all day.
"Cut to the moon. That happened with me as well" XD
I need to go to NZ again. Love from your north-western cousins!
Well, it's nice to know Jemaine's idea of foreplay. ~snort~
Love these guys
"Dont do that cos they're rare.... there's not many rocks.." 🤣🤣
Wow, it's like a Flight of the Conchords - Beavis and Butt-Head - David Attenborough (yes, I realize it's my beloved pseudo-Kiwi actor Sam Neill narrating -- I just mean metaphorically) mashup! Definitely did not expect to see this. Unfortunately it was very distracting how the footage used in the inset shots had random mouth movements rather than being lipsynched like the Conchords whole-frame shots, and I would have much preferred just some green-screen footage of the guys with their great subtle facial expressions, but it was awesome having a virtual new episode of their show!
Yay! Just discovered that posted on the "BBC" UA-cam channel on the same day as this video was "Flight of the Conchords on Kiwi egg omelettes - New Zealand: Earth's Mythical Islands - BBC Two", which is the same video as this one but without the braindead insets with the random mouth movements. This version on the "BBC Earth Unplugged" channel made me so angry at the missed opportunity for greatness that I literally dug out my FotC DVDs yesterday and was just getting ready to produce a version where I replaced the horrible insets (and then the rest of the footage of the guys, to match) with clips of the show, lipsynched as well as possible. Thank goodness for the non-crappified version already existing (although in a way I'm a bit disappointed, as that would have been a fun editing exercise).
I'm thinking some dumb intern accidentally posted an abandoned draft version of this video here, with the needless insets of the guys during the nature video shots, and their mouths moving randomly with no lipsync. I suspect the animator had planned to come back and replace those copy & pasted miniaturized full-screen shots of the guys with actual lipsynched versions, but then someone wisely elected to eliminate the inset shots entirely; however, someone then uploaded the wrong version to the "BBC Earth Unplugged" channel. D'oh! Thankfully, a corrected version is available.
Also just discovered today that there are three more episodes of this!! Why don't you put links in the Description, BBC?!? On this "BBC Earth Unplugged" channel (some or all of them are also on the main "BBC" UA-cam channel with different titles), check out "Flight Of The Conchords Watch Penguins - #NewZealand - BBC Earth Unplugged" and "Flight Of The Conchords Watch Kakapos - #NewZealand - BBC Earth Unplugged". And on the "BBC Earth" ("plugged-in"...?) channel, check out "Flight Of The Conchords Comment On The Cheeky Weka - #NewZealand - BBC Earth".
ROTFLOL!! ‘Don’t do that because they’re rare …. rocks, there’s not many rocks.’
that animation was creepy, badly done and probably took way more effort than it was worth. a live action would have been much funnier, i'm sure
Double-agreed. I hope some excuse comes up for BBC to make more of these in the future, even if it's not for a New Zealand themed documentary. But next time, save the Flash animation budget and just film the actual guys on a couch, please. The animations, like the ones on the "Seinfeld" DVDs (but unlike, say, "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist" or HBO / Channel 4's "The Ricky Gervais Show"), add nothing and really just subtract from the entertainment value.
