Quran 4:150-151 “ Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between - Those are the disbelievers, truly. Qur'an teaches us that Isa(as) was never crucified, wasn't executed by his enemies, hasn't passed away yet, never taught his followers to worship him as a deity, that the Apostles/Helpers didn't number 12, etc., and yet Javad wants us to believe that the New Testament is validated by Allah, in the Qur'an. Clearly, the Qur'an is claiming, in all of the aforementioned examples, and in many more examples, that previous scriptures are not reliable sources of information. This also pertains to the Tanakh. Compare any Old Testament story to its Quranic equivalent, and you'll find differences and contradictions. Any story. Story of Nuh(as), Musa(as), Sulayman(as), etc. Allah reminds the Yahudim in the Qur'an of a Law that Musa(as) brought them, which they transmitted orally until they recorded it in their Talmudic literature, saying that murdering a human soul is like killing all of mankind, and saving a soul is like saving all of humanity. Compare that to what they have, and you'll see the difference. They recorded it as a prohibition to murder any Jewish soul, and that saving a Jewish life is like saving all of mankind. They changed it. They restricted it to their own ethnicity, and so it no longer applies to other humans. So Allah corrects that, and He exposes their changing of the revealed guidance. Clear example. Besides, changing the revelation of God is actually the very first sin any human being ever commited according to Genesis. If you compare Genesis 2:17 to 3:3, Eve adds words to the revelation of God, and the Jewish exegetes quote Proverbs 30:6 here. Just look it up. They had to be told not to change the revelation, because that's what humans do when the preservation of revelation is left in their (un)capable hands. Jeremiah 8:8 says that elite scribes used to concoct verses and pass them off as Torah. That's not some vague incident that once happened. These scribes still exist today. They're called Tiqqun Soferim. Google the term. Just read the Wiki article on that. The Bible isn't reliable, even according to its own content. The New Testament Gospels are not revelation. They're biographies, produced by unknown authors. Even in those books, they mentioned that Jesus used to go around, preaching the euangélion to the people. That is the Injeel. I.e. the Glad Tidings, or the Good News, which basically is him informing the Israelites of the concept of Paradise, because you go ahead and flip through the Old Testament, and see how often Paradise is mentioned or described. They didn't have a concept of the Akhira the same way we do. This was new to them. It's all over the Gospels; Jesus is constantly talking about the Heavenly Kingdom. So when Christians say that they want to spread the Gospel to the Muslims; we don't need it. We have a better understanding thereof than they do. They think that the Good News is the belief in the trinity and the death and resurrection of Christ, which we reject, on the basis of revelation. Jesus wasn't walking around with a copy of the Gospel according to John. These books didn't exist, and Allah did not reveal Isa(as)'s own lifestory to him, as it was happening. Makes no sense. So why then would Allah command us to accept those books as true? They're not the Injeel, they're not revelation, their authors were not prophets, and their contents contradict with what Allah has revealed. I mean, how delusional or ignorant does one have to be to not see that? So you interpret the Quranic ayat that speak of these matters according to what makes sense. Also, when Allah talks about Nuh(as), He says that the people of Nuh(as) rejected the Messengers. Plural form! So either this means that alongside Nuh(as), there were others who helped Nuh(as) warn the people, or, and I think the following is the better interpretation; the meaning there is that when you reject one of Allah's Messengers, you actually and effectively reject them all, because they all come with the same foundational message, which is monotheism. If you believe in Musa(as), but you deny Isa(as), then according to this, you're a disbeliever in Allah's Messengers. If you believe in Musa(as) and Isa(as), but you reject Muhammad(saw), then the same logic applies. That is, if the message of Islam has reached you in a sufficient way; then it's incumbent upon you, as a believer, to accept all Messengers, and you don't get to say that you're just going to stick to following the previous one. Imagine the believers at the time of Isa(as) telling him that they believe in him, but they're not going to obey him and follow his guidance, because Musa(as) is enough for them. That would be denying him, even if they say that he's a Messenger. You follow the latest one of the Warners, and especially Muhammad(saw), who specifically came for all of mankind, whereas previous ones came for their people (only, or primarily). It's not that difficult to comprehend, and these who preach otherwise are certainly misguided, and they only want to misguide others. So alhamdulillah for scholars like Dr. Shadee ElMasry. These people need to be addressed and their nonsense refuted.

ISIS also uses the Quran to prove their position, as does every other misguided peoples who claim Islam. The most important aspect of Islamic scholarship compared with other traditional faiths is that we have unbroken chains of narrations that go back to the prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace). If anyone doesn’t meet this criteria and then apposes the views of the majority of the pious predecessors then Islam by its nature will filter these people out. Whoever they may be.
@@Zaid26127 He didn't bring that either. The Quran confirms the best of what came before it, and tells the Christians and Jews to uphold their own books.
If Pharao repented that time, Allah forgave his sins, right? So, we say Pharao believed in God (of Moses) and did good. Pharao did not know what Torah was because not available yet. When Allah gave Torah, it is for Bani Israel, not Pharao. Or, if Pharao repented ,then will he and egyptians share Torah with Bani Israil? But the fact is, after Pharao was drowned to death, Moses left egypt and had no obligation to teach torah to them. Right? Egyptians continued their lives with their old religion, of course.
Pharaoh asks for forgiveness in the Quran when he is about to drown, and Allah refuses to forgive him. And what do you mean Musa Alayhi Salam was in no obligation to teach the Torah when he left Egypt? Allah reveals Scriptures to Prophets so that they preach them to the people.
Who is a scholar and who is not should be decided by the listeners not you. Not sure where people get this authority from. Your job is to refute what was said by someone instead of being judgmental about people's scholarship. Allah never made anyone guardian of Islam.
It’s interesting that the scholar with the turban doesn’t seem to be a hafiz, otherwise he would be able to read off the relevant Quran verses in Arabic and give the translation in English!? I may be wrong. 🇵🇰❤️🇵🇰
Why is that interesting? Not all scholars are hifiz, and not all hafiz are Scholars. Many great scholars are not Hifiz, it's not a requirement. He might be I'm not sure.
@@zuyasin1It is a requirement to be a hafidh in order to be a scholar. Nobody will give you an ijaza unless you memorised the Qur'an (not that that's the only requirement)
I would think logically that by obeying and following the guidance of the Quran, you are following the true part of the Torah and the gospels. The Quran is the book that claims to be from God, and it's up to us to read it and find God. The Quran speaks from the perspective of God, not from the perspective of man talking to man. The rest of the religion outside of the Quran is simply made up by people and propped up as laws to obey. Law is from the Quran. If the Quran permits something, then forbidding it is going against the Quran and if the Quran forbids something, then permitting it is going against the Quran. The Quran comes with clear language and words, I often find that widely accepted Quran translations are not actually translations, but the interpretations of the translater inserted and disguised as a "translation". Learn some Arabic and you'll know.
so you say that rejecting the hadeeth and only following the Quran without the hadeeth's interpretations is suffice, then answer how do you know the exact number of Raka'at of each prayer? and how do you know when to sit, stand or what do you say during the prayer?
@@JKD67 they don’t 🤷♀️, better to ask them why allah said for the believers to return to allah and his messenger if there’s a dispute in Surat an nisa. This is an argument from consequent fallacy. You're impressed by this garbage? He also begs the question against Javad's position by saying it "destroys" the religion. Please, stop thinking so emotionally for once in your life.
clickbait, showing only a clip in which Hashmi speaks in the first few seconds and is left out afterwards, cherry-picking, ignoring Hashmis arguments, ignoring 10:47 amongst others, calling a legitimate Havard scholar a 'fake scholar' (if he was a 'fake scholar', then the professors at Havard would've known and he'd have either faced significant challenges making his PhD or he'd have failed to defend his PhD) because he 'relies on orientalism (a currently dead intellectual stream)'? lmao, the title 'gets destroyed' is enough to explain why this video is garbage and clipped propaganda
Do you honestly think Harvard is teaching Islam at any depth? 😂😂 dude the average madrassa teaches ancient Arabic, multiple tafseers, and goes through all the big books of hadith. Harvard doesn't teach you all of that, the people there have hardly read more than sahih bukhari and sahih Muslim. In madrassas once you are done with the sahih sitta you go through all the major musannafs and musnads, so traditional scholars have far more knowledge of hadith than western academics, because western academics don't care about wading through the entire hadith literature, they just learn things on the outside. Oriental acedamics are also severely lacking in knowledge of fiqh because they don't have to give fatwas. Bring me a harvard graduate who can off the top of their head tell me about every day rulings like: is jalsa isterahat obligatory in salah or not, is saying rabighfirlee between sujoods wajib, which qunut is the qunute witr, etc etc.
Islam says it affirms the past books and also updates them, and that if there are inconsistencies between the books and the Quran then it's because those books were corrupted. First of all, God never gave Jesus the gospels ("injeel"). Even Christians know that the four books of the gospels were written decades after Jesus. So it makes no sense to say God gave Jesus the gospels. And it makes no sense to even mention the "holy spirit" which the Quran does mention as legitimate. These things indicate to me that Muhammad had some knowledge of Christianity but it was extremely general. Second of all, any person can come and say whatever is in my book is the CORRECT version of things, and everything that disagrees with my book was simply corrupted. So this proves absolutely nothing. I think the fact that the Quran borrows ideas specifically from Jewish and Christians sects in 7th century Arabia is telling of it being a product of its time, and it is very ignorant about a lot of important points in Judaism from its foundations. Again, indicating to me that Muhammad had a very general and passive knowledge of the scriptures. For example, there is almost no mention of heaven or hell or even the devil in Judaism, which you would think God would have mentioned given how important those things are. It would be a tall order for a Muslim apologist to come along and simply argue all of these things were deletions, inventions, or corruptions when they have no basis for saying so except to say that the Quran says so. I could just as equally say the Quran is inventions and corruptions. Is it more likely that an all-knowing creator would send various "books" and have various laws sent down and frequently change those books and laws from time to time, or is it more likely that some human came along and claimed that God gave him the updated and correct version, which just so happens to be very different than what came before?
Your answer is horribly ignorant. Quran 2:75 says the Jews corrupted the word of God. It literally uses the Arabic word for corruption. What kind of affirmation is that? As for books of the bible other than the Torah, Quran never mentions them. Nowhere is any book of the Bible other than Torah mentioned in the Quran. You talk about the four gospels but the Quran never mentions them. You will find no verse talking about Mathew mark luke etc. Quran only talks about Injeel, which people translated as Gospel, but the Quran itself says that injeel was revelation given directly to Jesus. Also in the Quran holy spirit is a word for the Angel Gabriel. You don't seem to know that. If you think the Quran is false, watch the video of manyprophetsonemessage, "Quran reveals secret of Ancient Egypt." The video shows that the Quran corrects historical mistakes of the Bible and contains historical miracles. They also have a recent video where they prove without a Shadow of a doubt that the book of daniel proves Islam.
@@vol94 The stories of Exodus are 100% thought of as a national foundation myth by all critical-historical scholars. Israelites came from Canaanites. The archaeology shows this, textual evidence and even DNA evidence from Jewish people. You can hear Joel Baden explain it here but all OT scholars and archaeologists say this. Kipp Davis, John Collins, Fransesca Stavrakopolou, Finklestein, Thompsom, William Dever, Carol Meyers, Christine Hayes... There is no Biblical scholar who acknowledges anything about Daniel proving the Quran. Like the Old Testament, those are all just claims. This isn't good evidence, you must have something better than that?
If the Quran is contradicting itself by telling Christians to follow the gospel, yet saying, don't believe Jesus is God, yet also never stating the injeel was changed, then Quran author maybe didn't read the gospel to know what it said. Surah 7:157 "Those who follow the Messenger (Mohammed), the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them (The verbs are all present tense in Arabic) it is still during the time of Muhammad the presence of the books of the Christians to follow Surah 5:43-47 "And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient." ---- so Muhammad is saying too Christians that they have an opportunity to either follow the Injeel or not follow it, and to follow it means to know what is in the presently injeel to know what it says in order to follow it presently(The verbs are all present tense in Arabic) it is still during the time of Muhammad the presence of the Injeel book of the Christians to follow. Bible was Been written down and passed along Christians were following.
Let's be more direct. How do you refute what Shaykh El-Masry said? How can the starkly opposing positions of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity on the status of Jesus, of Prophet Muhammad, etc. be recociled? How can you say "they are all the same" when they all say things that are in direct opposition to one another?
@@babahadjimohamed9339 It's not Islamic to talk about people negatively behind their back. You don't know the brother, instead of assuming, why don't you learn more about his work? What evidence do you have that he "cannot read the Quran"? It's haram to lie and slander Muslims.
4:157 That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;-but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. 4:171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not “Trinity”: desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. Well u see the basic doctrine of the entire Christianity is mentioned wrong and blasphemy to God here .. So by logic u can decipher if the religion is wrong the scripture on which it is based also to be wrong or corrupted ... What we believe is that both gospel and old testament were revealed to only for people of that time and later on they got corrupted via people adding to them or removing from them ... And just like how sheikh responded logically also one can decipher them ... May Almighty guide everyone to the true path ..

They are both slightly wrong. There is a middle ground that is the obvious interpretation upon first reading. The Quran doesn't say that People of the book can't achieve salvation, its just that salvation is not a certainty for them. Islam as per Quran and Sunnah or Prophet Muhammad Pbuh is the best way, I agree. The average jew and christian who are unaware of the true teachings of Islam dont reject out of active rebellion, they do it out of ignorance. From anecdotal evidence I can tell you that most layman christians I've come across dont believe in the trinity even though they are taught to repeat the doctrine and it is almost impossible for most of them to explore other religions outside of a few Christian denominations due to lack of accessibility and resources.
Not believing in the prophet muhammad peace be upon him even after evidence is clear to them make them disbelievers and no way can they achieve salvation. Believing in the Prophet is fundamental.
Another possibility is that even Islam itself could be false ! Muhammad & co manufactured this religion - but has accidental, useful/beneficial aspects to it. The fact that the Quran contains many contradicting & confusing verses about Jews & Christians makes it impossible to draw any unanimous conclusion among Muslims themselves. Dr.Javad Hashmi is not stupid or ignorant. He is using his mind at best, but these built-in confusing & contradictory verses of Quran and hadiths and history and realities of the world makes it almost impossible to finalise a sensible logical idea about what exactly muslim god Allah mean by many of the verses. Btw- Trinity in the Quran is wrong, too - Allah, Jesus & Mary. How about that ?
Even Dr Elmassary admitted Javad is on something important like the beginning of a new religion or something the point is the new generation will either exit Islam or think critically
@jj-yi1ne My beliefs are following the Qur’an, even when tradition says otherwise. So the food example-when the Qur’an says ONLY 4 things are Haram for us (carrion, blood, pig’s meat, and idol-sacrificed foods)-then it doesn’t matter how many ‘authentic Ahadith’ you have which say that donkey meat, tiger meat, monkeys, and other animals are forbidden as well. If it contradicts the teachings, or clashes with the spirit of the Qur’an, then we should not accept it. And sadly, our religion has been infected with a lot of false traditions and practices, which have only caused confusion, doubt, apostasy, enmity between us-and above all-disobeying the words of our Lord in the Qur’an, which is the ultimate & supreme Hadith (Qur’an 39:23). Salam.
@jj-yi1ne It clearly says NO other foods are forbidden except for blood, carrion, pork, and pagan foods. This DIRECTLY contradicts the Hadith, which says that more foods are forbidden. This means that those “Sahih” Hadiths cannot be from God. They are man-made fabrications. I’m sorry that you’re in denial. I hope you wake up.

Dr. Hashmi is very well versed, educated in Islamic traditions of more than one sort, from Harvard University. Shadee is unfortunately biased towards an orthodox religious view he holds, and it simply just doesn’t stand on a more collective as well as objective ground. It is factual that Judaism was first, it is factual that neither Judaism, Christianity, nor Islam as these organized distinct religions existed during Moses, and it is stated and recorded that the word Meshullam (Arabic: Muslim) implies peace for a peace-maker, befriending etc. though most are simply unaware.
Respect people of knowledge and who seek knowledge.

If the Quran is contradicting itself by telling Christians to follow the gospel, yet saying, don't believe Jesus is God, yet also never stating the injeel was changed, then Quran author maybe didn't read the gospel to know what it said. Surah 7:157 "Those who follow the Messenger (Mohammed), the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them (The verbs are all present tense in Arabic) it is still during the time of Muhammad the presence of the books of the Christians to follow
Surah 5:43-47 "And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein.
What an abysmally incorrect comment. Go educate yourself before making such statements
Even Dr Elmassary admitted Javad is on something important like the beginning of a new religion or something the point is the new generation will either exit Islam or think critically
Muslims have been thinking critically for a thousand years. Trying to make westerners happy isn’t thinking critically
@@kungfufreak360 What foods are Haram according to Islam?
Salam.
@jj-yi1ne Qur’an 6:145. End of Story.
God didn’t bring a new religion. People did. 😂
Swearing 😂. He has no logic. I’ll defend Issa and Mary. Issa is a messenger and had a human father (Mary’s husband), Mary was a righteous married women who didn’t give birth miraculously to Issa. This guy is 🥜

Mufti Abu Layth destroyed Shadee.

Which video?
Dude I watched this whole debate, not just 3 minutes of it. This was the most intelligent thing your guy said the whole debate. Your “fake scholar” actually destroyed your guy! This is so deceptive! Put up the entire 3 hour debate! If you don’t you are false
Yea he follows reason and logic not tradition
Which makes verses like 3:19, 3:84-85 coherent.

@@roxanne2749 if that makes you feel happy sure lol. It is a fact that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as institutions did not exist during the time of the ancient Israelites. I’m a student of religious studies, I know a thing or two. I cannot help people who remain in the shackles of exclusivism, know nothing about pseudepigrapha texts and apocryphal history, or what the historical context of 7th century entails. But you do you…
