I bought one of these off the back of this video. Absolutely love it, it's the mid 90's in a box. It's such an enigma, i feel i could use it everyday for 10 years and still only scratch the surface. The specs are even better than i read, it has 4 lfo's per voice not 2. So many sound design options in there. It feels special every time i use it.
Thanks for the video of this rare beast. Would love to hear the combination mode playing some of the acoustic patches, since that is part of the mystery/intrigue surrounding this unit (the regular sound mode is just a Technics KN ROM set, maybe KN2000/3000).
Thank you for this video. Now I get why this synth wasn't that popular. The real instrument sounds were not so realistic as on the Yamaha VL synths or even Korg's Z1 and the pure synth sounds were all alike each other, as if they were going through the same fx chain or something. Such a pity really, because I always had a sweet spot in my heart for keyboards with 2 mod wheels, like the Raven or EX7.. Anyway, thanks again.
@@12bitizthewaytogo92 Me too!!!!!!!!!!!! .... still got my WSA-1 with rare output expansion card & the R rack module from decades (never got the super rare Dance expansion, 1st and only one they did, but have heard it on YT and it's, well, a bit dud). WSA is brill, a different take on Physical Modelling from Technics who were trying so hard to break in to the Pro Audio synth market, but sadly this one brought them down due to poor marketing and of course the market association at that era with 'home arranger based' keyboards/organs. Such a shame, along with Kawai, Casio & General Music GEM similar fate 😔😥.
I'm New in this type of electronics device, WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF HAVING ONE. I WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE BUT I WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS UNITS, WHAT ARE THERE FOR?
Technics also manufactured electronic musical instruments, such as music synthesizers. This is one of them, but as a rack module version (the keyboard version is the SX-WSA1). To play sound from this 1997 rack module synthesizer, you'll need to connect a MIDI keyboard.
