Hi Martha. I just met you on Edie Eckman's zoom meeting. This video is just what I needed to see as I'm learning to knit socks and have to pick up stitches on the side of the heel. Your video explains this very well so thank you for that. Rachel S.
Hello Martha....I just watched your tutorial on how to join double pointed needles in the round. I have a question but couldn't find where to ask it on that site.....The very first thing you did was to slip a stitch from the left needle to the right, and with left needle pull the next stitch over it on the right needle....got it...QUESTION: that motion decreases the umber of stitches by 1, right? So, doesn't that affect the total number of stitches, especially if the piece has a pattern to it? (Thanks in advance!)
When you trade the stitches, no stitches come off the needles. Only traded. So the number of stitches is the same. Hope this answers your question. Thanks!
Hello again....The way I took the video was : one stitch was slipped from the left needle to the right needle. Then with the left needle, the second stitch in on the right needle gets pulled over the stitch that was just transferred. That removes one stitch. Did I miss something? Was there supposed to be an extra stitch cast on in the very beginning to compensate?? If so, then it would all make sense and the number of stitches would be ok....@@marthalyonsknityourselfhap9147
