man, 43 views. I'm a champ.
Thanks.
Short and informative. Just the way a video should be.
I've always wondered about this.. Interesting but an HD video or some kind of quality that doesn't suck would help to see it more clearly.
Thank you for posting this video. The purpose of the strobe always eluded me but your video was a big help.
Thank you! I was struggling with the right position of the pitch. now i know how to do it :]
ooo I always wondered what it was for thanks man
it's too stare at when playing records as it looks cool.
when you're on the weed
Thank you so much mind blowing
This is for 60HZ power I assume. For 50HZ power the above lines should be looked at.
Hi there just came across your video which was very interesting. I had recently bought myself a record deck with a USB MP3 and mp3 encoder.
There is also a pitch Control nob on my turntable which is very handy.
I find that a lot of modern turntables play slightly faster than intended. I have perfect pitch so can tell that the songs are slightly higher.
Using the adjustment knob helps me to get it exactly right.
glad to *hear* it! I heard recently that the new Taylor Swift albums are pressed at 45, and many people are playing them at 33 1/3 and hearing a man singing Taylor's hits.
very cool to finally know never owned a record player with one but will be looking into it now,,,thanks!
If it looks like it’s spinning clockwise does that indicate that it’s too fast? Counterclockwise too slow?
I can't check at the moment, but that sounds right. You can verify yourself by playing a record while adjusting the fine turning knob. Play a record you know well, that way you'll know if it sounds too fast, or too slow.
🤘
1:43 it's still drifting to fast.
the light is just an incandescent light bulb the lines on the plater are what give you he speed (when partnered with the light at 60hz), the light bulb is flashing at 60hz (or50hz) from the power company. set it so the lines are not moving for the speed its set at.
Usually it is neon indicator lamp, since it produce nice flickering (50 Hz supply => 100 Hz strobo / 60 Hz supply => 120 Hz strobo) ,
It's really obvious. bottom dot still mean 33.3 speed, bottom dot drifting mean not 33.3
If it was really obvious, no one would be searching this question.
yeah but what else would it be, if it's still when you have the pitch set so it's perfectly at 33.3, and if you change the pitch so it's going faster or slower and it starts moving, then it's obviously to show you that the platter is spinning at the correct speed
Just because it's obvious to someone who is extremely smart like you, more than 17,000 views on this video would suggest that it's not obvious to EVERYONE. Also some people have an idea, but it's not clear exactly what to do. Many people are getting their first turntable ever and haven't even seen Good Burger so maybe it'd be cool to cut them some slack.
what
Really helped since I'm about to upgrade from a technics player atm so wanted to see what that light did
Stop filming using a potoato
this was filmed in 2012.. 11 years ago
@@hoodedcrows8966 So it was filmed on a mouldy spud then, is what you're saying?
No, i'm saying that why are you telling someone to stop filming on a poor quality camera, when that filming happened over 10 years ago? Is OP gonna time travel and buy a better phone?@@257ian
