The pillowcases he slept on were in that case. Yet somehow looking in the same mirror that Adolph Hitler once stood in front of is what gets me.
I was a volunteer docent for a short time at this museum. There are more artifacts stored in the basement than there is room to display. Right across from the small gift shop area is the Native American Alcove honoring those Native Americans that served with distinction. The original painting Heritage of Valor is displayed there. The painting was done by Kelly Haney the artist who created the statue that stands on top of the Capitol Dome. The model for the painting is my wife Major (ret) Vicki Jones who was the 1st female helicopter pilot in the Oklahoma National Guard. She was also honored as the Oklahoma Woman Veteran of the Year and was selected for induction into the Oklahoma Officers Candidate School Hall of fame. It is an amazing museum well worth the visit.
That is neat seeing the artifacts kept in such good condition. I think war should be taught when we forget history repeats itself. The Mickey Mouse gas masks were a cleaver way to sell the idea of a mask and making it a game to the kids
Really interesting stuff shown here. I didn’t expect to see a Mickey Mouse gas mask, yet here we are. Keep up the great work Chris, take care!
It was in the thumbnail image and the description how did you not expect to see it? Lol
i saw a picture of one in some WW2 book i used to look at in the Library. I had to be 5 years old and it has been on my mind ever since I could remember
Think of all the times Hitler stood before that mirror. Pretty creepy. Very significant artifact.
I appreciate the man with the British accent talking through your filming. His excitement was almost making me excited!
He was extremely knowledgeable and definitely excited to see everything ha. I just wish it was clearer on the microphone
@@MobileInstinct sounded like he was from the same town as me, strange to here that accent in one of your videos
@@MrDaithis Deffo North East, couldn't say with any more precision. Geordie maybe although he sounded quite clear so could be modulating.
I've seen many exhibits about wars, vehicles, aircraft and a number of other things. What you showed us, is incredible.
I'm not sure if you've been to Kansas City and seen our World War 1 museum. And the Liberty Memorial. Both are connected.
Both are incredibly interesting.
The tower at the Liberty Memorial is very interesting.
I've been up to the top of it. The views are breathtaking. When you get to the top, by elevator, you will walk up a few steps, than go out side. When you do walk out side, you'll be greeted by a concrete wall. It's about 4 feet 5 inches tall, and about 18" to 2 feet thick. Even if you don't like heights, no problem here. Photography with flash is allowed in most places and of many of the displays. One might check on video lighting. I remember using my 20-40mm zoom a lot. And a 70-200 zoom as well. Lighting inside is dim, but video might work fine, without extra lighting. The figures I gave are for when using
35mm film and/or full frame video. The Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, is another neat attraction. Use the same lenses I mentioned above. Wider angle lenses, other than I listed will work as well. Same for higher magnification telephoto lenses, as well. Whew! Enjoy. And no, I'm not a tour guide, and I live in Kansas. No endorsement is being paid to me.
I’m just back from a visit to the Netherlands and Germany. We went to Kleve, the first town the allied soldiers came to on their way to victory in February and March 1945. The Reichswald war cemetery is a couple miles south, 7594 commonwealth graves, the largest war cemetery in Germany. Quite a moving experience.
Thank you, Chris! ❤️
Awesome video Chris. I'm a huge history buff and I love everything history from law enforcement history to military history. You should visit the Gettysburg Museum Of History in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.
Thank you! I was trying to think of where that museum was. This def reminded me of that place
Incredible! It's very Erie seeing all of Hitler's personal items. Thanks Chris for this. I hope this gets a million views. People need to see our history.
For real eire. Seeing the mirror that he would’ve looked at himself every though. Wow!
I may never get to go to that museum. That's a reason that your videos are really appreciated. I notice they have a Canadian built DeHavilland Beaver outside.
The interesting thing about this US division is that until the rise of Hitler in pre-war Germany, its insignia was a gold ancient Navajo hooked-cross on a red diamond... but when the Third Reich decided that swastikas were 'cool', this division changed its emblem to the Thunderbird on a red diamond instead.
Enjoyed watching that amazing collection thanks for showing can't wait to see the next video
Thank you Chris!! Can you do one on Gettysburg and the Carlisle PA military museum???
That Mickey Mouse gas mask looks creepy! And all the nazi artifacts that museum is interesting, dark but interesting. Great video Mobile Instinct! I am definitely enjoying your content on this channel. BTW, Lamont at Large introduced me to your channel. Kuddos to both you and Lamont!
Gotta love the irony of seeing the reflection of your shirt with a Volkswagen on it while looking at Hittler memorabilia😂😳
Gotta love how American's love collecting Nazi stuff; but when it comes to their genocide of Indians, not fucking interested.
Happy to moralise and collect German though.
The mirror was the most striking to me. I can image Eva primping in that mirror - weird!
Paused at the 55 second mark to comment. FWIW I have somewhat recently been checking out vids on the entire Hitler and his cronies on YTube. I knew the 'Hitler was a Bad Man Thing' - but I wanted to learn a tad more than that. The fella was definitely 'baked' IMO and the entire ideology. Surprising to see you doing a video on this subject matter. Back to your video. :O) Thanks for what you do.
looking at yourself through Hitlers mirror yow.. so eerie and surreal. absolutely fascinating stuff, keep it up man!
Back then, every single American company wanted to do their part to help the war effort. Disney included. And Disney's mask is actually an excellent idea to take the fear of the masks away for children and make an intimidating mask "child-friendly".
It’s amazing what some of the items my grandfather returned home with. He wouldn’t speak about the war until we got older. He allowed me to ask questions. Most he would refrain from going into the details for our protection. He showed me a German Luger and nazi soldier medals taken from inside house they cleared. He served in WW2 and was in Belgium, France, and Germany. I wish I could ask him more detailed questions. He lived to 99 years old and served his country well. Samuel Cataleno from Springfield Pa.
We just visited in September. What a great collection from the civil war to WW2.
That was amazing! I can't get over the Mickey Mouse mask, how horrible kids had to wear them, but how blessed Walt Disney came up with a way to make it less scary for them!
Ho-ho-ho! I wish I could time travel back to the early 2010s to tell little 3-6 year old me THIS about good ol' Mickey when I was obsessed with 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse'
Great representation of German Insignia!
Wonderful Video Chris.
Fort McClellan closed in 1999 it has been redeveloped as a mixed use community. I lived at Fort McClellan from 1964 to 1967.
Love this. Love watching World War 2 documentaries. Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent footage 👍🏼
Cool artifacts thanks Chris
Thank you Mobile Instinct for taking us with you on your travels.I enjoy it as I am disabled and cannot get out and about.Thank you and take care!
chris you gotta go to "dragonmans" museum. probably get a exclusive with the man himself. would make for a great video.
I like the MG-42 Maschinengewehr (Machine Gun). It was the most-feared machine gun in WWII. U.S. troops nicknamed it; "Hitler's Buzz Saw", because of the distinct sound it made. It had the highest rate of fire than any other machine gun in the world, at that time. The Germans introduced this weapon in 1942, mainly for Eastern Front use, to help defend against the human wave attacks, the Soviets often employed. The U.S. copied the design in to the manufacture of their M-60 machine gun.
Dragon man museum in Colorado Springs is a really cool one to check out as well
The Hitler memorabilia is chilling, surreal. Excellent video. Thank you for presenting most of it without comment.
Great find Chris. War history is always so fascinating.
Those machine guns are sweet, great video thanks Chris appreciate it.
Fantastic video Chris. Be careful.
Excellent coverage. Thanks for the tour.
We visited this museum with our kids it’s a really amazing museum
Wow... the kids and I go here all the time. Just a cool place all around. Cool to see you here in North OKC. We have an excellent zoo too.
If you ever are Near Ft. Know Kentucky you need to visit the Patton Tank Museum. On Saturday's during the summer they bring out various working Tanks for us to see!
Cool museum! Thanks for showing us!
hitler put his logo on everything like they did in spaceballs. prob where brooks got the idea. its a really scary thought i might have to put a kid in a gas mask as well.
Very nice!!! Thank you for sharing
It must take a lot of work, time and money to maintain and perfectly care for this museum especially from dust.
Hitler's bedroom mirror from his bunker. Man that would be eerie to look into.
Wow amazing love all this ww2 artifacts thanks Chris keep up the good work following you from Ireland 🙂
Another museum for me to go to in my home state. Nice!
So neat! I wanna go! Thank you for bringing us along 🙂
It's truly a great museum and it's free of charge. Donations are gladly accepted of course. May we never forget the men and women of this era that helped to defeat this evil fascist regime!
Very interesting video Chris many Thanks for sharing 👍👊🇬🇧🇺🇸
My mom was born in 1935 in a small village in Wales, and all the children were given mickey mouse gas masks
very good video Chris!
Thank you for sharing
Amazing vid mate.
A worker there told me that that cape was taken from Hitlers Munich apartment. The G.I was told to search through his apartment for documents, while he was there, he took some souvenirs for his mother. This included some of the glasses and bowls on display. But since you can't ship glass only without it breaking, he added some of Hitler's uniforms into the package to take home. when he came home from Europe he asked where the uniforms were. His mother responded "Oh, I threw them out, they don't fit you." But she kept the cape since it looked nice.
Note: This is hearsay from the old worker there (you can hear him in the background)
I have 1 complaint...
You didn't show enough! Lol
I was totally interested and was hoping you were going to show more of the WW2 stuff they have there. :(
Great video (except it was too short).
Yay...i can hear it now. Excited to watch this.
Chris thank you for this video and thank you for the tour to
Wow!! Chris🌟What an awesome video! Chilling to see Hitler’s personal items, and so many weapons 🤯
You never fail to bring the most interesting and historical content🌟I so appreciate you 🌟Keep Sage💙
Ty I love this video. You are amazing
Looks like an outstanding museum by the looks of it!
Cool tour lots of unique artifacts
Great video! I was actually in the room of Hitler’s possessions while you were there and recognized you but wasn’t too sure if you were who i thought you were since it didn’t seem like a place where i’d recognize anybody haha. I asked if you were a youtube or just interested and i’m afraid i came off a bit rude to you. so i apologize. I was in the museum to work on a senior project for school and found it extremely interesting as well. I’ve been enjoying these videos on both of your channels on stuff around the Oklahoma area. Truly fascinating. Thank you!
Great video thanks
I think it's ironic that both sides in WWII fully expected that the other would use poison gas attacks a lot, they weren't used as much as expected. It's been said that Hitler's experiences in WWI being exposed to poison gases was the sole thing that prevented Germany from using poison gas in many instances. The Nazis had Serin gas, but Hitler banned its use. Very nice video, and very informative about things.
He might have complied with the Geneva protocol, rather than making it a personal matter.
Love your channel.
Great collection!
The very things nightmares are made of
Thank you & you're right it is amazing!!!
I live next to Ft. Mclellan in Alabama and had no idea there was chemical museum there. I'll have to go check it out
Wow, great stuff. You could have spend another 2 hours in there filming and I would have loved it
Awesome vlog
cool beans I watch this at work tonight, thnx
this is cool - it brings back some memories of Vietnam
I love going to museums 😊
From a business point of view... Walt Disney pitching cartoonish gas masks for kids... to score a contract selling them to the US Military.... Brilliant move!
Oh wow so crazy!! Very interesting
Excellent!
Awesome. The Division's original symbol was a swastika... Before the Eagle 🦅
True but the swastika was in fact hijacked by Hitler and his henchmen. Look up 'The Order of The Red Swastika' sometime...
You should have stopped at Fort Sill and saw the Field Artillery Museum!!!!!
Great content Chris the explorer
Impressive, but Dragonman's collection in Colorado Springs is still the best in the USA.
War freaking sucks man, I mean we all knew that but still, the stupidity and awfulness of war never ceases to amaze me
Seeing things like this really makes it so much more real, everyone should see things like this to understand how real it really is, in school war can often come across as something very far removed
Very cool! Love that place. You going to make it up to Guthrie?
🙏💙 thanks for sharing
OKC?! I’ve lived in Oklahoma 32 years and i just found out there’s a WWII museum in OKC?!?!?
To bad they didn't have Hitler's shoes. I heard he tied the laces in little Knotzi's!
One ww2 truck inspired wall-e's truck
Interesting stuff
What a cool museum. Wonder how they ended up with so many of Hitlers personal artifacts? Thanks for bringing this video to us
What an incredibly collection. I'm especially impressed with the Nazi stuff, and moreover, the A.H. items. Wow!
very coolio, more spooky stuff plz
Love that museum also a fun fact they used the swastika during World War I as their division patch but after Hitler adopted it they switched to the Thunderbird love that museum it’s been a few years since I have been
there is a building here in Farmington NM that is decorated on the outside walls just under the roof with swastikas. the Navajo Indian type.
Amazing 🙀
The guy in the background speaking was a geordie from Newcastle england
I know the idea behind the mask is to ease the childrens minds but the design itself is kinda ominous 😳 knowing the history behind it, it’s very sad
Oklahoma City ? You better get there fast before a tornado does, it might not look the same. 😜
There are a ton of WW2 German militaria on display in museums around Finland. The only clear voice record of Hitler speaking casually was recorded here in Finland, it was a secretly recorded conversation between Hitler and our commander-in-chief C.G.E. Mannerheim.
He said so many evil things didn't he????????!!!
@@mightiestalone9851 Finland was Germany's ally in WW II.
Nothing saying you have to be a Nazi to like collecting their memorablilia. I HATE Trump supporters, but I'd still collect it.
@@internetcensure5849 early in the war
Yup and he lied thru his teeth the whole way thru that recording... What a tool and pawn totally used up then destroyed completely by the evil ones...
"Good Luck on Judgement Day..."
