Just to illustrate, Trump is a racist, and his supporters clearly demonstrate the same: "Jews will not replace us"; "go back to your country", and they even say this to Native Americans! Trump stating that a judge with as Hispanic surname wouldn't be fair to him! And many other instances! Trump is dishonest and many of his supporters are, too. You might remember when news broke about Trump's phone call in which he proposed blackmailing President Zelenskyy to announce an investigation of Joseph Biden; on the day that it became public, a reporter, on live T.V. asked Mike Pompeo for his reactions; he said that he had been busy and hadn't read the news as yet! Turns out, he WAS ON that call! I could continue, but I think you get the idea.

I was an Honors graduate from an ABA approved Law School in 1979. I was admitted to the Bar of the US Supreme Court in 1990 and appeared before that body, and won , a number of cases. I spent 15 years as a State prosecutor and 10 as a federal public defender. Having personally tried over 500 jury trials, before I retired in 2008, ( health reasons), I think I know a case that can be won and should be brought in order to do justice to the people we serve as public attorneys.
US v Donald J Trump MUST be filed and he must face a jury. I have no doubts at all about the outcome. No wonder laymen are impatient with our system of justice. I know the frustrations of people with less experience than I have. I feel the same way they do. Maybe more. It is time he is forced to face his actions in a federal court. We the people deserve that much from our system.
Since you are so experienced and of integrity, certainly you must have come to realize that far too many "Weasel" School graduates go on to become their own number one client and use the law to their favor.....Law school produces too few actual "lawyers" and much higher percentage career "weasels"...!!!! There was an investigation, and they presented the facts they found, as is what takes place at that type of committee hearing. Did you watch? Did you hear? This whole “there was no defense” as if there even is a defense of something like this, as opposed to actually listening to any of it because you don’t want to hear it, is disingenuous at best. It’s not like a murder trial, for example, where you have a murder and multiple suspects, where you don’t know what happened because you didn’t watch it play out. We know who was president. We know the lies he told. We know the attempts he made. We know what he asked others to do on his behalf. They have the calls, the texts, the emails, a couple thousand hours of testimony by people in every level of Trump’s administration, all of it corroborate by other testimony and related evidence. They investigated, they found what they found, and they presented what they found, that’s it. And what happened, we ALL watched. So it’s not like a criminal trial of other kinds where you have to piece together what even happened. This “defense” that you just want to believe exists simply doesn’t. I’m sorry, but this is just not that kind of situation. The “defense” you want is more like, hypothetically, imagine if there was a storm that happened one day, there’s video of it from a thousand angles, there are wind readings, temperature readings, radar of the weather system that produced it, radar data for weeks leading up to it, every reading and measurement we can possibly take from beginning to end, how it started, what drove it, what made it stronger, what directed it, all of the damage it caused documented, measured, analyzed, all of it.. and then acting like there’s some “defense” in the form of some other fact that’s going to make all of that cease to exist. Some other thing or fact is not going to make all of those readings, measurements, analysis, video, all of which correlates perfectly with the rest, all of which adds up and reinforces all the rest, just stop existing . There is no defense for that. Because the defense you want, that is literally what it would have to do, make all of that cease to exist, not have happened. Though a great many politicians here are corrupt to varying degrees, it’s important to add that our society, like most others, is built on money and power and as such, our laws are written so that money and power can skirt our laws fairly easily. And, since money and power only care about more money and power, significantly few politicians outright break laws in ways that require prison sentences as demanded from those with the money and power. On the rare occasion that they are provably caught, pardons usually happen. It could happen if the right people are embarrassed badly enough. The IRS has an excuse that they are underfunded. The IRS hires people seasonly for taxes. These are not trained tax professionals. They have a limited amount of tax attorneys and really good accountants to ferret high level fraud. I mean you would need a whole team of investigators to repeatedly call each non-profit Trump claimed to donate to and because that business is sketchy as well it triggers a whole different audit.
