Origin:
The first part of this song uses the traditional version with a British 'Zed' ending rather than the American 'Zee'. The tune was used by Mozart for his piano variations of "Ah, vous dirai-je, maman." A French melody that first appeared in 1761. It is also used in "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep". The Alphabet version was first copyrighted in 1835 by Charles Bradlee, and given the title "The A.B.C."
The end of this version also contains a much faster alphabet song of unknown origin.
