I love this. This idea is what I've been missing!... I have so many photos of texture, colour etc. I can take my stuff to another level.... I too love making my own journals. Thank you so much for sharing.
Just watching some of the older videos and realized I have been with you a long time. Art never gets boring and I don't think we will ever have enough time to do it all. I've been thankful for the pandemic for that reason. Suffering from depression the last three years has brought it's own challenges, but it has gotten me into watching more videos and that has brought me back to the table and crafting. I may not finish all the projects but I sure do enjoy working on some. Bless you for sharing your talent with us and continuing to do so all these years later.
Can I also just give a giant THANK YOU to the patron that helped you get better filming gear. The video is wonderfully crisp and the audio is fantastic. Super big virtual hugs to that person!
I love watching you create. And, seeing how thorough you are when you are applying glue. It occurs to me that this may be how my beginner glueing can be improved!! TFS!
I love love love learning these new techniques! I just watch your videos shaking my head thinking “just when I thought she couldn’t do possibly do anything more fabulous, then this!” 😄 Amen to that: talking about knowing how to entertain oneself. Since I was a child, I never understood it when friends or anyone said they were bored. One thing I am never is bored. I do think a lot of people have at least turned to physical activity during these times. We’ll all get through somehow!
Robyn, your words ring true, as always! I’ve had a really difficult week (so much so that I’m watching this on Wednesday late night!) My creative moments, while few and far between, have been the glue holding me together. I am so grateful for your weekly videos and inspiring chat. Hope to join you on Patreon soon. ☺️
Just found this channel! Love your digitals. The colors are so beautiful together! Your instructions were clear and I will be attempting this as well. TFS! 🤎
Love your projects! I am definitely interested in a copy of the mail art altered book - so beautiful Robyn. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, enthusiasm and time - the most precious gift of all.
Hi Robyn, I bought a gelli plate during lockdown and started watching your videos. I love your style and the precision you bring to your work. Thank you for generously sharing your techniques, they have been so useful to me in my art practice.
i purely love your excitement and enthusiasm. Please add me to the list of people who want to buy a print copy of your altered book. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you. You reminded me about the beginning of the pandemic and I was thinking what the heck am I going to do if orders come to shelter in place. I just had a moment of panic and then was like duh, make art, work in my garden. Plenty do do. Thanks again for your generosity in sharing your techniques and style.
Sooo funny I was taking pictures of the old sewer grates and old rusty plaques on side of buildings in my daily walk in an old Virginia city ..so glad I am not the only one💕💕...my next arty task is to bring some tracing paper and a piece of charcoal and do some rubbings on my walk of grates and old stones at the park💃💃
@@tiffhop3544 Happy to know someone else does this. I have rubbings from New Orleans and Ottawa and pictures of sidewalks there where the huge tree roots have grown and cracked them. It helps to really see a city and a great memento. I live on a farm in Manitoba so we don't have a lot of places to do rubbings.
Love the washi tape idea ! Going to try that. Another great video and loved that it was longer. Thankyou so much for sharing, you have been such an inspiration to me that I have just had a big art room built in the garden for me and my daughter 24x10’ but I know it is going to get filled up quickly once all our art stuff is in it, can never have too much art materials and books! Thanks again Robyn.xxx
Another great project! Gathered all my papers today. Found a nice sheet of paper to coffee stain and add some gold spray paint!! Excited to work on it over the weekend!💗
Many thanks for sharing your work and tips Robyn. I thoroughly enjoyed part one of your latest project and will definitely be making my own washi tape going forward. 👌 X
You never sees to amaze me with your creations, I don't have a legit art store nearby, closest over 2 hrs away! I am thinking about using brown craft paper have a roll of that! Or even a roll of white craft paper! Thank you Robyn
Hi Robyn, totally love your new project and love what you are making 💖. I sure would like to know where I’ll be able to buy your stencils when they are available. I also would appreciate knowing how & where I can buy or print your printable from ? I have checked out your pages and have not been able to get or see them. Thank you Robyn, for all your wonderful art and time you have shared with us💖 !! I love everything you make and you give all of us so much and thank you again …💞🦋💞
I am getting ready to take my first little trip out of town to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and it is so appropriate to make my own little Concertina watercolor book to journal in while I am gone! This was fun to watch and helpful to boot!
@@RobynMcClendon I just made it with Fabriano Artistico Watercolor paper I bought in large sheets for the first time but was intimated to cut them. 4 sheets for $17.39 from Cheap Joe's Art Supply turns out to be less than $4.35 cents a little travel book. I already have the rest of the supplies to make a cover and back and watercolors to take on a trip and practice with so there. Voila. Thank you again. Better than the $35 albums plus shipping and I enjoyed making it.
It would be so much fun to learn to do paper making and make a book with the papers to gelli print/collage into. I would love to be able to use some of those scraps just don't really have a place by making them into new paper.
Ali Tuttle-Easton Yes I’ve been wanting to share papermaking in a way that others would be able to connect on a deeper level A good set up is important 🥰
Hope you will order some extra copies of your upcoming book for those of us who are unsure and need to wait to see whether we can afford it. Love your energy!
I will let every one know the price of the book once I can get it professionally photographed and then created on a self published platform...I'm going to make it a limited edition and I'll do pre-orders so I'll make sure that everyone is informed before I go to print :) Thanks so much for you interest and asking :)
Great video. The tip for making your own washi tape was really useful. I've been making accordion books and have trouble getting the folds lined up, and this tip could really help with that. I have two questions, though. Given the cost of the Giotto glue sticks in the US, is there a glue that you recommend that is low water and less expensive than glue sticks? I used wheat paste (wallpaper paste) for my altered book, and the amount of water in it make the pages pretty wavy even after they were weighted down. My Lineco PVA is also a bit watery as well. Second, could you tell me what you use to hold your phone or camera when you're recording? I'd like to get a set up that will allow me to use my Iphone to photograph or video tape my own art work that is laid flat on a table. I have a tripod and an Iphone holder, but I need some kind of longer arm that will swing over the art work. Thanks very much.
Hi Robyn this looks like another great project. I would love to get a copy of your book, so if you put me on your list . Can’t wait for your stencils to come out . Thanks for everything and your new camera set up is looking great.❤️Annie
EXACTLY!!!!! I'm never bored, alone but never lonely when being creative. I have more creative ideas than I can keep up with.
You are so sweet and talented. Your voice is so calming and just going with the creative flow. Thanks

Ralph Zaionz Absolutely I’ll put you on the list and yes this month for the stencil
Hi Robyn, amazing work. Can’t wait for your writing class. What printer do you recommend to print on rice paper etc. thanks
Beautiful work! How did you get those designs on the paper? It looks like marbled paper.
Enjoyed watching you, though my mind doesn’t work that fast.
Do we know the approximate cost of the limited edition book? $300? or $100? I'm interested, but my budget has to be considered. :(
Where are your stencils going to be available at? Do you have a site that you sell items on? Thank you
Ginger Sparks Good question. The link in the description box appears to be broken.
Love this! I’ve been wanting to do a fall themed junk journal and will try using this technique! I need to do some gelli printing with fall colors.
