No way!!!! A colleague at work asked me the other day if I'd make him some motorbike saddle bags.
    I'll show him these.
    They look amazing.

I usually make my bags with a single piece of leather making up the body that you fold over to make the main pocket and then the lid and then sew on two separate gussets along the side but I am curious is ther a benefit to having a single gusset and two pieces to make up the main body?

How do you get the leather so stiff so you can work with it. Without it flopping around.

It depends on the leather you’re using as well as the thickness to an extent

@@dibison It was thick leather like a 7-8oz, good quality veg tan

@@dibison veg tan 4-5 oz. Noticed when he was using the beveler it sounds like he's cutting cardboard it so ridged.

@@khempleman you can get leather in different temper as as well, from soft to stiff. so if your leather is very plyable and flops around then it sounds like you have a soft temper leather, try looking for something semi stiff to stiff/firm :)
i typically use 4-5oz veg tan for the majority of my own stuff and i at times struggle to get the leather to cooperate unless i dampen the piece first to make it easier to bend for certain curves
