Those mamak's staff are not local they are immigrants worker.. If you guys wants to hang out at local hot-spot in KL go to SS2 Petaling Jaya, Kampung Baru n Brickfields
Hello couple, for yr info the locals are malaysian citizens. The employees of mamak restaurant(indian food) they are mostly Indian foreigners. We also have many Foreign workers Frm bangladesh, Indonesia, nepal, vietnam, philipines, etc, etc. The list goes on.Besides that,we have too many illegal immigrants n illegal refugees. I have to explained this so that tourists will not mistaken these foreigners for locals. I wish you both happy stay in malaysia .Enjoy your holiday.
Actually usually, in many mamak places, u just sit down and they'll come by to get ur order.. That's unless u want something to take away, then u order it directly at the counter.. I suppose that's why they're a bit confused?
Yeah unless you are requesting take-away. Sometimes the workers in mamak might not even from local, maybe that’s why they looks confused. For drinks you can usually request whether you want iced or hot, less ice or less sweet.
It’s funny earlier in Google there’s a news saying Malaysia is the number 18th country not safe for vacation.. how funny media could be.. everyday I saw every tourist having good time here
A sincere love of the past is felt in the tea making method of that local shop. The taste of which breathes new life into you and fulfills your love for tea. Your two cool places in Kuala Lumpur city were really amazing.
Do u guys plan to come to putrajaya? That place also hv some good scenary for photos and plenty of mamak stall. Normally we local like to hang out watch football at mamak stall eat roti canai , nasi kandar and tea tarik. If u look for mall in putrajaya, we hv ioi city mall putrajaya
You guys need to get out from the city centre. There’s more to explore. Maybe you want to consider Malaysia’s administrative centre Putrajaya. And next go to Kajang and eat satay. You also can get affordable food & beverage such as Uptown Damansara Hawker’s Stall… go during dinner time. That’s my advice… don’t limit yourself at the city centre
You both really need a local to take you around. Try Roti Canai, roti bom, nasi lemak, beef noodle, pork noodles, claypot chicken rice, satay, banana leaf rice... just to name a tiny few dishes. Visit Batu Caves, The Federal Territory Mosque, Thean House Temple, Sultan Abdul Samad building, Sri Mahamariaman Temple and find a night market... The longest night market is the Taman Connaught one on Wednesday nights.
Malaysia is a multi racial country. Malay is the majority folo by Chinese and lndian immigrants who came hundreds of years ago for work and businesses. Enjoy the endless multi cultures, multi religions, multi languages, thousand (if not hundreds) of multi food and drinks. 365 days of summer with the occasional wet season.
You guys go to the wrong mamak...the famous one further in front...the famous roti canai with boiled egg....and they have full glass of tea tarik...😅....you guys have been scammmmm

It's okay you can order 5 cups of tea just for you
The banner says "tea cutting ". That means half a glass of tea. Usually we get full glass of tea here but that's the norm in India.
