Me! That's like a bonus clip at the closing for my daughter and I cuz we just can't get enough! And that kinda lets us down easy! Ummm.... wow I think we must be hooked! ;)
Ive noticed im favoring OTR more than demo too,but when i see he just uploaded a new vid for demo it changes my mind lol..i think the subcribers just like matt and dont really care what hes doing in the vid.
8:39 This brought me to tears! I've been watching these videos while I sleep because so many of Matt's videos have just been demonetized... And I just woke up to him telling Jake how much he loves him as he's driving to the vet clinic to help Jake's dog! 😢💔 It just ripped a new piece of my heart apart! 😭😭😭
Screw some scrap 2x4 pieces to the top of the sawhorses. Set your saw blade depth so it just cuts through the sheet of ply and cut right on the 2x4's. They are sacrificial pieces that you replace now and then.
Yep. Then, personally I lay two full length 2x4x8' or 6' boards across the top of the sawhorses as well, usually screwed down, anytime I am cutting plywood as it gives much better full support, and as long as your blade depth is set correctly you aren't likely to damage your 2x4 enough to ruin them anyway
Cutting plywood trick- get a 4 X 8 sheet of rigid foam insulation to lay the plywood on. Then you set the depth of the circular saw a bit past the depth you need. You can then cut the plywood on the floor and the blade will just groove the foam. If you want it up a bit you can make a ply-foam-ply sandwich on the horses. That way you always have a sturdy base.
If you attache a 2X4 on top of your saw horses you can set the saw depths to 1/16 to 1/8 deeper than the material you are cutting and use the 2X4 as a sacrifice piece and replace it when needed. just an idea from my father who was a retired carpenter.
i was about to write the same thing haha (Learnt it from my father too who started building his own house at 17 and has several qualifications in building etc.)
Hey Matt, if you want an easier way to cut plywood with a circular saw, put the board on top of a sheet of 2 inch insulation foam on the ground and set the saw blade such that it barely goes through the wood. You can find the foam at Lowe's/Home Depot. The foam will support the board the entire way and you won't have to worry about crooked cuts or the board crimping the blade. Thanks again for all you do!!
Thanks for the clouds shots they were really nice. Here although there may be areas of large fields there are always lots of trees to break the view. These are just some of the most feel good video's I have ever seen and I thank you for all three channels.
Hey Matt, if you bolt some 2x4s on your saw horses you can cut over them without having to worry about cutting them and then you can replace the 2x4s when they're all cut up.
Honestly, the charm of this channel and probably why it blew up so quickly, is because it's nice just seeing Matt be a great dad, husband, and all of that. It's enjoyable to see such a great person enjoy his life and him not be conceited about what he has. This channel has quickly become my absolute favorite.
Hey Matt. Every morning before class at tamu I check to see if there is a new video out. Your videos are so chill and fun. Perfect to watch before going to 8 am labs. Keep up the good work. Gig 'em
7:28 "You want me to come fix them later?" I see what you did there Matt. Nicely done. Lol. Honestly I find a lot of comedic relief in subtle things in your videos. Moments with you, the kids, Mere. You are master entertainers in your family man.
Your positive attitude and willingness to help others is inspiring. Your great respect for your wife and her incredible patience on tolerance are equally inspiring!
You guys are the best! A couple of our monks here, one a former Marine, follow Demolition religiously, but I'm all about this site and Vet Ranch. Thanks for letting us join your family and practice.
It is always sooooo satisfying when the music perfectly matches with the cuts during your work ... appreciate all the work you put in these .. keep it up
I think I started watching your channels in perfect moment. It was about 2 months ago and now u have 3rd channel which is even better than two others. Your videos always make my day. Thank you for your work Matt.
They way that you work together on projects is just wonderful!!! You children are adorable and grooming is amazing. Best is that they understand failure as normal and useful. I taught my kids thy hat you learn very little when you succeed, but you learn so very much more when you fail. Ultimayely, The difference between succeeding and failing is simply trying one more time!!!
This man is such an inspiration; he is the reason I put my application into A&M :) Love everything you do Matt, proud to live in a world where people like you exist
Screw 2x4s on to the top of your saw horses the 2x's will give your plywood more grip than the plastic saw horses plus when ripping the plywood you can cut straight through with out damaging the sawhorses
Hey Matt just wanted to say I love your videos man I've been having some anxiety for the last few days and watching your videos just help me relax and make me happy man keep up the awesome work.
ever since i started watching your demo ranch videos matt, i have always admired u.Your the type of guy that seems will always encourage someone to do their best and work hard(just like you) btw iam 14 years old from Trinidad. someday i sure would love to meet you.
A trick for skill saws and plywood is to use rigid insulation on the floor. The skill saw cuts right through it and lets you make long cuts without worrying about it falling.
I love watching you all.. matt you rock.. great dad great husband great vet and a hell of a guy.. my daughter and I watch all your videos, vet ranch, demo ranch, and now off the ranch..keep it up.. good job frm jeff in michagan
Plywood cutting tip...place the plywood on a sheet of 1" EPS foam (on the ground). Set the saw blade to just barely cut through to the foam. Using this method, you will have full support of the plywood.
Matt, next time you need to rip sheet goods get some 2x4 or 4x4s (can be scrap pieces, doesn't matter) and lay them on the ground in parallel lines. You are creating a base for each piece of cut sheet good to rest on. For what you are doing at 3:15 you would end up with what looks like 2 sets of railroad tracks consisting of one board a few inches in from each long edge and one about 20" in from each long edge. This gives you an 8" gap in the middle for saw clearance. Set your saw depth so you won't hit the ground and you can saw down the middle with no problems at all. There is more than enough support for you to sit/kneel on top of the sheet while you make the cut. The sheets don't move when you finish the cut as they are supported by the 'tracks' underneath them. Makes doing the job a lot easier, especially by yourself. Only caveat to this is if you are using extremely thin sheet goods you need to put a 2x12 or something else underneath you to spread your weight across the supports underneath so you don't crack your sheet. For structural ply like you are using this is not an issue, but with something thin like bead board it would be.
or put 2x4's screwed on top of the sawhorses and cut across the tops and don't worry about cutting into the scrap pieces that you replace now and then. Then no crawling on the knees!
Excellent point Mary. You could do the method I described on top of the unmodified sawhorses, but adding 2x4s on top of sawhorses makes them even more useful. Not only do you not worry about cutting them anymore, but you can attach all kinds of hadmade jigs to them, turn them into improvised clamps, make a temporary workbench by screwing a top onto them, etc.
seasons sure are changing up there Matt - you're in around about the same parallel as I grew up in on the southern hemisphere - just around now some of that moisture starts to drop off and you finally get a little bit of upper atmosphere action happening
There's an app, I can't remember the name of it of course (lol!), and it makes snapshots look like paintings and drawings. Wonder if that's what he used?
Matt the air tank your using for the air rifle is the same type we use in the fire service for our SCBA's. They are an aluminum tank rapped in carbon fiber and resin. If you can place it in a firefighters hand and it doesn't break!!!!! Its built very well and no worries about it being a time bomb.
I just wanted to say I have been a big fan since you started demo ranch I subscribed when you only had 5,000 subs on the channel and I ever since you started this channel back up I’ve watched every day and your videos just put me in a really good mood and inspire me to stay positive even on the toughest days so thank you for doing what you do and I hope you can keep doing it for years to come!!!
I literally just started watching vet ranch a couple days ago, but binge watched it. Now I'm binge watching Off the ranch. I'm glad you are on UA-cam because I don't have cable. I love both of these shows. I may subscribe to the third show, but haven't really watched it.
I understand that these are Linc's sister's boots that he is trying on and they already belong to her... But, I don't think anyone should exclude pink from their child's choices. Any color- pink, purple, blue, green- is for anyone and I wish parents would stop discouraging their children's intent to explore. I mean this comment respectfully, and hope it encourages other people to inspire creativity and inclusivity in their children :)
I hear ya, and respect your opinion and appreciate the way you delivered it respectfully to me. He's welcome to wear her boots around the house, but I won't send him to school in his sister's boots. Same reason I won't let him wear a dress to school. That's not squelching creativity IMO.
Not to mention that those our Annie's boots. I think Annie might have displeased that Lincoln wore her boots without asking. Teaching Lincoln boundaries about property is important.
Matt, never apologize to these PC assholes for wanting to raise your son into a man and your girls into women. This PC idea that we need to raise our kids into some gender fluid pronoun-less alphabet soup acronym 'beings' is just bullshit.
The paintball lady is right, any air tank is dangerous, especially composite ones that don't stand upright by themselves because you have to lay them down or have a carrier. I use to fill these up all the time along with scuba tanks at sport chalet my old job. So do treat it delicately, and have the hydro and certs done right and up to date. Care for it and it will not steer you wrong. I would get a car carrier. I have some for my 3 scuba tanks when I go diving, they are like a foam platform, I tie the heads together and down. Just a tip
Hey, Dr. Matt. There is a trick to using sawhorses to make plywood cuts.. Mount some 2x4s on the tops (screwed from the bottom) then set the circular saw blade just deep enough to cut the wood and go ahead and let it cut a little in to those 2x4s.. saves you a lot of hassle not having to move the wood, and horses around, and you can replace the 2x4s when ever you need to...
Quick carpentry tip for you Matt - Screw a sacrificial 2x4 or 4x4 to the top of your sawhorses so you don't have to worry about moving them every time you make a cut. You can also extend them beyond the width of your horses to make them a more stable surface for a full sheet of ply.
I have never seen a dog with hives! Wow. The poor guy must've been miserable. You are a great human being to drop what you were doing to help him out! Also, just thought I would say that you really got quite a bit done on your work bench. You have to look at how much time the detailed work takes to realize how much you really did get done. I hate to be interrupted when I am focused on something, so I can understand. You and Mare are definitely better at handling that than I am! Good for you both, the kids are adorable! I'll be watch'in for the next video!
MATT for future reference. You could of made a table out of one of the ply-board slabs and the saw horses. By screwing them together. That is what a saw horse is for. Yeah I know they are plastic, but it would of still worked. I recommend using the metal brackets that you use to make your own saw horse out of two by fours. They are cheaper and you can abuse them. Then you only have to replace the two by four that you screw to many holes in or slice to many times with the circular saw. Love the channel keep it up.
My daughter's 31 years old now... When she was little, 2 or 3, and It was just us at home raining or whatever, I'd let her do the make up thing, we'd do the tea party thing make cookies, dress up, tu Tu's, the whole nine yards, just like the Doritos commercial.... Best time of my life.... I love the interaction you have with your children/family... Your wife is stunning... Yes sir, your very fortunate....
hey mat here's a tip when using sawhorses put a 2×4 on top of the sawhorses the adjust your blade depth on your circle saw so it just barely cutting into the horses so you don't have to move them as much
Matt, u probably know this but I work with wood a lot, and if you make at least the top of the work bench out of plywood you should but a good coat of sealant over the top or some sort of protectant so you can save the surface longer. A lot of tool use is going to end up needing you to replace that faster than you might think as bare ply can get shredded easily. Just a tip hope it helps
Riobi hasn't called to sponsor you? Great work on the bench. I made shelves in my pantry from plywood, none of that cheap wire stuff! I can climb on mine too! I also added led under cabinet lights on them, best idea. I had to modify them to make them longer, but it was easy. Let me know, I'll tell you how.
I could watch just nature videos with the music you play all day long. I hear there's a saying about Texas weather, you should make a video about that Matt!
love the vids,,for the saw horses just mount a 2x4 on the top of the saw horses so when you cut on them you don't have to worry about knicking your sawhorses,, and stabilize with some 2x4's in the side slots of the stands,,,,i know your work bench will be done before you prob read this but for future reference maybe. keep up the great work love all your channels
So very very very happy to see you wearing safety goggles some of the time now. Please also consider wearing them any time you use a power tool or hammer. Screws and nails are well known to occasionally ricochet off their intended target, something you know all about at Demolition Ranch. As an ophthalmic technician, I have performed ultrasound imaging on many eyes with tragic, yet preventable crazy trauma. My contribution helps doctors know what, how, and if traumatized eyes can be salvaged. Having 2 eyes gives you the depth perception you need for all of your activities! I really appreciate this channel that shares the lives of you and your family - 2-legged and 4-legged!
Every day that I watch these videos and the vet videos it makes me want to be more of a veterinarian everyday think watching them will make me change my mind and do it 😊😁
Sweet vid! And Mer doing Annies hair was cute. Reminded me of my mom doing my sisters hair in the mornings when we were little lol. I always had jacked up hair......wait a min!!
Hey Doc, you should screw a couple of 2x4 on those sawhorses, so when you cut your wood on it you don't have to be scared damaging them and you won't have to move them around to not cut through them. Love your videos keep em up!
Does anybody else watch the whole video to the end just to watch the little dog "barking" it makes me smile every single time
"I can't work like this" :D
Me! That's like a bonus clip at the closing for my daughter and I cuz we just can't get enough! And that kinda lets us down easy! Ummm.... wow I think we must be hooked! ;)
Dylan Marlowe yes!! and it's driving my dogs nuts that I've been on a binge with Matt's videos lately LOL.
I wish I could remember Which of the Vet Ranch videos has that little dog! Its not about him, he's just yapping in the background, so Cute!
Yessss 😂
This is painful to say but I look more forward to OffTheRanch videos than DemolitionRanch ones...
Ive noticed im favoring OTR more than demo too,but when i see he just uploaded a new vid for demo it changes my mind lol..i think the subcribers just like matt and dont really care what hes doing in the vid.
I am here for him as a person I started watching Demo then followed Vet now watching them all
Look forward to both equally
yes i can totally agree
Agreed, but not more than Vet Ranch!

Great role models, all of them. Starting with Dr. Lee, his Dad.
Hey Matt. Every morning before class at tamu I check to see if there is a new video out. Your videos are so chill and fun. Perfect to watch before going to 8 am labs. Keep up the good work. Gig 'em
Gig em!
GIG EM!!!! my cousin Ezequiel Campos goes there. He's studying to be an architect.....
I hope to go to A&M!
7:28 "You want me to come fix them later?" I see what you did there Matt. Nicely done. Lol. Honestly I find a lot of comedic relief in subtle things in your videos. Moments with you, the kids, Mere. You are master entertainers in your family man.
"offtheranch"
only videos actually on the ranch
i love it :D
So true, haha
Just imagine it's "of the ranch" being "about the ranch" and it works again :)
nah, the ranch is his dad's place I'm pretty sure. this is the new house they just got. it's like ranch V. 1.5
all of the demo ranch videos are on a ranch....
this isn't on the ranch. demo ranch is a different property.
Your positive attitude and willingness to help others is inspiring. Your great respect for your wife and her incredible patience on tolerance are equally inspiring!
there is officially nothing this man can not build.
If he cant Mere can.
yesss! she's amazing!!
Or destroy
call him Noah....he's got access to the animals...LOL
She has a Civil Engineering degree, which explains a lot...plus she's a Can-Do person, like Matt!
You guys are the best! A couple of our monks here, one a former Marine, follow Demolition religiously, but I'm all about this site and Vet Ranch. Thanks for letting us join your family and practice.
Your the only channel where I literally watched you take out the trash but i'm still entertained. haha
lol
Adding you and Mere to the list of children of my heart. Thank you for sharing your family with us. God bless and hugs.
"No kids for the next 6 hours" and the first thing you do is build a work bench?
Prolly not the first thing :P
12 year olds^
wha? he changed he clothes
yo
He is old and married with kids...
It is always sooooo satisfying when the music perfectly matches with the cuts during your work ... appreciate all the work you put in these .. keep it up
what will u build after building the workbench?
I have a list of 20 things I need to build. First thing is a desk for my kindergartener.
You should make a desk out of decommissioned assault rifles
Make a Throne out of decommissioned assault rifles.. call it the freedom throne.. ill come up with something better
you need to build a gun o_O
a nuke
I think I started watching your channels in perfect moment. It was about 2 months ago and now u have 3rd channel which is even better than two others. Your videos always make my day. Thank you for your work Matt.
Matt can you do a off the ranch q&a?
how dose this comment not have any like
yesss!
i agree. Matt is crushing life. He needs to write a how to book.

whenever I start losing faith in humanity, I watch these videos!
faith totally restored!
A clamping straight edge will help ripping sheet goods. Also if you build the shelf first, then build the support, you can avoid notching.
"No kids for the next 6 hours, we need to make the most of this..." I thought the video was going to go in a much different direction :p
My thoughts exactly.
same
Yep, make more kids...
That would need to be on a different channel - "Off the raunch" perhaps?
I don't need to see it, just hope that he at least killed a couple hours that way. And if not, give him something to consider for next time.
#CooterLivesMatter
Don't worry cooter we got your back bruv pistol pete will be avenged

But did you fix the potty though?!
A good material for the top of a workbench is two layers of MDF. It is very dense and very stable. You can then poly it to protect it.
I like the way he played that song write after he said he loved him 😂

You need a sacrificial piece of 2x4 on top of your saw horses. Just cut right through it and eventually replace it with a new one.
Plywood cutting tip...place the plywood on a sheet of 1" EPS foam (on the ground). Set the saw blade to just barely cut through to the foam. Using this method, you will have full support of the plywood.
You are so talented , but most of all you seem to be a wonderful dad and a loving husband a combo hard to find now.
These vlogs improve tenfold with every new episode. Who knew the veterinarian, and gun enthusiast could also be a stellar vlogger? Keep it up Matt!
Dem barber skillz tho

People who can only display jealousy and have never learned how to simply be happy for another human being. Sad really.
Cooper's funs
Maybe cuz he used the word homo?
I just wanted to say amazing editing Matt it tied in perfectly with the music, and its as good in all of your OffTheRanch videos
I think Annie was throwing you a little shade there Matt when you said no kids for 6 hours & she said "Sort of." :)
..you mean Mere. Annie is his daughter.

Matt, never apologize to these PC assholes for wanting to raise your son into a man and your girls into women. This PC idea that we need to raise our kids into some gender fluid pronoun-less alphabet soup acronym 'beings' is just bullshit.
But he didnt said bad thing to Linc, that werent his boots btw. I love gender fluid thinking, but is my opinion.
Just a tip
Matt, I am impressed. I like that you know how to do so many things. Keep up the good work.
Matt....Like how the workshop is coming along. Especially the wraparound workbench with storage below....kool ! !
This is the most fun I have on the computer screen - watching you! Keep doing what you do man!
Hey, Dr.
Watching you work is very relaxing, I hope we can see more workshop videos in the future!
Perfect daddy, great hubby, awesome vet, all round DIY man, true friend. That's Dr Matt. I don't know how f I should love or hate him. I love him.
i love the way you communicate with your kids!
wish all of the best for your family
Hey man every time I watch your vids it brightens my whole day and makes me feel better so thank you for being awesome!
i like how the video is edited with the vibe of the song.
great job
I came back to watch this as in popped up in my NewsFeed ..... and yeah I loved it just as much second time round!
Matt thank you for these videos. You have a beautiful family and your a great guy.
Love the channel keep it up.
i like how you drop everything to help a friend out, thats what makes a damn good friend ;)
This is awesome work Dr. Matt! I'm an avid fan in all of your channels. Keep it up!
You should consider adding Masonite boards on top of the plywood. It makes it more slick and easier to slide things. 👍🏼 great videos Matt!
The joy I get when I see that there is a new post... I know I'm not alone
Its weird how much I enjoy watching your everyday life...
True friend! Nice job Matt! Can't get enough of these vids!
hey mat here's a tip when using sawhorses put a 2×4 on top of the sawhorses the adjust your blade depth on your circle saw so it just barely cutting into the horses so you don't have to move them as much
Matt, u probably know this but I work with wood a lot, and if you make at least the top of the work bench out of plywood you should but a good coat of sealant over the top or some sort of protectant so you can save the surface longer.
Every day that I watch these videos and the vet videos it makes me want to be more of a veterinarian everyday think watching them will make me change my mind and do it 😊😁
Matt has the most calming music in his videos
that dog's reaction when matt pulled the sanitizing bottle or spray was totally me whenever i'm about to get a shot.
Sweet vid! And Mer doing Annies hair was cute. Reminded me of my mom doing my sisters hair in the mornings when we were little lol.
I always had jacked up hair......wait a min!!
Put a couple of 2x4s on the saw horses under the plywood. They are somewhat sacrificial, but will keep the plywood from falling.
matt i just want to say mere and you are great people. love watching u guys
Hey Doc, you should screw a couple of 2x4 on those sawhorses, so when you cut your wood on it you don't have to be scared damaging them and you won't have to move them around to not cut through them. Love your videos keep em up!
