vent warning, nothing too serious/triggering/sad but i should say just in case i wanted to tell my friends about age regressing today so i tested the waters by bringing it up. i mentioned reading fanfic revolving age regression and they didn’t outright say its gross or wrong, but they did say that they don’t like to read it with one of them saying that it feels infantilizing. now i feel like they’ll not react well if i try to tell them or at the very least they won’t want to be around me while im regressing. i feel so alone bc nobody in my life knows about my age regressing so i have to mask until im alone and then once im alone i have to try to take care of myself and hope im not asked to do anything. its so exhausting and i just wish i had someone to be a caregiver for me
question about age regression if anyone is able to answer: is it a voluntary thing, like a form of therapy, a trauma response, an involuntary thing (like for example therians shifting is involuntary)? edit: thanks for the info everyone!! :D

I’ve been regressing for 4 years now and my parents have no clue, I think it just depends on if you think that’s something you need to tell them. Is it something you do often? Or rarely at all? If your thinking about telling them in order to buy gear. There are tons of alternatives like generally cute clothes and items that don’t outwardly scream “age regressor”. If you want to anyway start off with saying it’s not sexual and that it’s a coping mechanism, best of luck 🫶🏽

Yeah! It can be involuntary and voluntary, but most of the time it is involuntary.
