This is probably my all time favourite LOVEBITES song. It is (in my opinion) one of the best thrash songs ever written. I've been listening to a lot of old school thrash lately and very few songs come even close to the quality of this song. I do appreciate the depth and thoughtfulness of your reaction and the funny little video edits you do.
I still think you 2 guys actually know metal, not like many other reactirs who actually dont, well just said, you know it, and thats why i love your guys, and the humour of cause priceless..
I didn't think I was a Lovebites fan, but then I saw this and honestly it blew me away. So good! Also, you guys are great at describing/explaining technical things that I otherwise wouldn't have really noticed or understood. And in an accessible way, too! Awesome ❤❤
You did so many Lovebites reactions, I didn't realise you missed break the wall. I,m glad you filled thar hole! Now that you are back to Lovebites, how about reacting to their latest 2 live videos from their upcomind dvd?
What makes this song so iconic , is , it's an example of perfect combination of the brutal side (most part of the song) and the beautiful side (Miho's leading follow by Miyako's solo).
I have watched all your reaction to lovebites and i really enjoyed all of them. There are two songs i have been waiting for your reaction . One of them is Break the wall which you finally made it. The other one. Dystopia Symphony , the song that blew me away only until i heard S.S.S.
Great reaction! This is one of my favorite thrash metal performances ever, I hope you guys enjoy this many more times on your own time, bang your heads! 🤘🐺🤘
I cannot believe it took you SO long to get to this song. What the hell is wrong with you two!!! 🤣 In the 50+ years I've been listening to metal, thrash and speed have been my favorite genres (I love all metal though). Exodus is my favorite thrash band for reference. With all of the great thrash I've heard over the decades, this song & performance is my all-time favorite live recorded thrash song, period. The riff is sick. The breakdown in the middle with the slowdown with Miho's bass line leading into Miyako's solo is pure bliss. The following buildup is epic. Asami's controlled vocals, getting out of her usual style, fits this song to perfection. Haruna is a complete beast, hugely underrated in the metal world. This is thrash at its absolute finest.
I can’t believe how much detail you guys remember from a single play through of a song. This is the clearest example of the difference between Midori and Miyako’s playing styles that I could name offhand from their catalogue. On Judgement Day the only way to tell them apart is the tone. Miyako’s speed playing improved tremendously because she was determined not to be considered “the slower player” and because Judgement Day is totally bereft of anything slow. I live in awe of both guitarists but my musical inclination is towards Miyako’s playing style than it is Midori. Arguably her three biggest influences, Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore and Gary Moore are three of my all time favourites, and her playing is clearly influenced by all three in various ways.
I agree, the soul Miyako brings is very much needed! As for remembering details, probably having done some 30+ reactions to them has something to do with that too :-)

I have been watching you guys react to Lovebites for a while. When I saw the thumbnail for a Break the Wall reaction I was stoked. This song has been my favorite for a long time. It did not disappoint. You obviously had a blast listening and reacting to this one. Good times.
This was one of the first songs by them I heard. "Shadowmaker" and "When Destinies Align" were spectacular but could have been one-offs. "Break the Wall" was what convinced me that this could be one of the great bands of all time. Thanks for FINALLY getting to this!
I'm actually shocked you guys hadn't reacted to this one yet. Anyways this is now my favorite reaction to Break the Wall, lol. Thanks for the music recommendation.
BREAK THE WALL is a remarkable Thrash Metal song for very so many reasons. I enjoyed your analysis and comments. The Emotion and the Muscle. I’m flabbergasted each time I hear MIDORI’s staccato runs are the beginning of her solo. It’s like HANNEMAN/KING, only faster, and melodic. How does she do it? MIYAKO’s solo is a tribute to GARY MOORE (RIP). She has the touch. The dissonant chorus is brilliant. And a blast beat to top it off.
My favorite band by far, and I think this is one of the best thrash songs ever written. When they lean into thrash they're so, so good. I wish they would do more. One of my top three Lovebites songs for sure.
Lyrics and thrash music written by bassist/founder Miho. (the following, in my opinion, or, to my ears & 👁👁) Midori's guitar represents the 'character' in the lyrics. First she start 'tearing' at the 'wall'. Listen to the tearing and the pounding, chiseling-away, up and down, hammering and 'shredding', work on a spot then move on. The wall weakened, she takes a squeal to a dive-bomb, taking OUT the barrier, "the wall". Now she steps forward to revel in her victory and FREEDOM! The goal is realized! She celebrates, bending back, 'stretching-out', shredding her way higher and higher on the neck, unison dissonance brought into harmony, as Miyako's guitar had repeatedly stated in the chorus [depicting struggle?]. Midori's musical statement resolves to the highest stretched note, fading... then seamlessly transitions the entire mood of the 'piece', from a most intense METAL vibe brought to the most serene 'place' in any LOVEBITES song... Joined by Miho's bass, they 'set the stage' for Miyako's soulful bend & vibrato laden embrace of the freedom realized through the 'breaking' of "the wall". I think this is the part Miyako wrote into Miho's thrash song. A blues solo in the middle of a thrash song... works perfectly when done by these masters. The only LOVEBITES song (so far) with music collaboration between Miho and Miyako. Absolutely the two most contrasting guitar solos in the same song that I have ever heard. It seems redundant to say, with LOVEBITES, but I will once again, every one in the band is unsurpassed in performing exactly what is intended, as written, and written to perfection itself. imo, of course (!) My analysis of the lyrics are in the reply ... 🐺 dreg👁
Yes, this song has so much in it... I have many literal "war weary" friends and can appreciate somewhat the scenarios depicted in Miho's words. An unpleasant 'place', a query of 'who will save' answered in the chorus "I'll..." 'I will' taking personal responsibility. 2nd verse 'strikes me' as one who identifies their own past as criminal, though not 'judged' so [by society], again taking personal responsibility with "who's the one that did it [self] thus embracing the [first vs] "crime" "I've done" more taking responsibility for their 'plight' "staring at the walls". Chorus again, no outside help is sought, "on my own" affirmed while also affirming the goal "get free" and a positive outcome is anticipated, "Bite, I'll..." "I'll..." what? "break the chain" "run to my shelter" "make it out alive" ! "I have to break through the wall!" These lyrics and thrash music written by bassist/founder Miho. 🐺 dreg👁
Whether is heavy metal, power or thrash, these girls do it all. Only Lovebites can make a song which is like mix of Testament and Slayer and make it this badass, especially live. They are the future of metal in general i dont care what anyone else say. Its a fact

we have yet to see them fly an F-15... or walk a tightrope in heels... or hack into military intelligence :))))... although I wouldn't rule out the possibility! :-)
Live at Zepp Divercity, Tokyo - 2020 Feb - Blu-ray/2CD 📀FIVE OF A KIND - 106min + Doc 20min🤘🐺🤘 Thunder Vengeance - Holy War - Don't Bite the Dust - Rising - Raise Some Hell - *Break the Wall* - Shadowmaker - Piano solo (Chopin Etude Opus10.No12) - Swan Song . Addicted - Dancing with the Devil - Signs of Deliverance - M.D.O. - Golden Destination - When Destinies Align - The Awakening (encore) - The Hammer of Wrath - Edge of the World - We the United.
Who if not you two to say early METALLICA! People hear Miyako's slow notes, and they have been taught to go "Gary Moore!" Of course, he is an influence (and often THE influence), but here everything, from the contrast to the atmosphere is so much like what Cliff Burton would write. I guess it was too long ago or what? Did modern METALLICA overshadow itself in people's memories? :) Well, that may be for naother discussion. LOVEBITES deserve the respect here so let's zoom directly on them. Aside from being one their absolute face rippers (that puts just enough balm on before ripping it again), this one also uses a rare "stacked" verse, where the band - and the audience, if it is cultured - scream "DIE. BY. MY. SIDE!" while Asami is pushing out her hail-of-bullets lines. Overcoming a depression might be the heaviest thing, so this is aptly the heaviest song... AND, historically significant - the only direct songwriting collab between Miho and Miyako, which explains itself! \m/\m/
Thanks for this, though I will challenge you once again to demonstrate your ability to ENDURE LOVEBITES' immaculate blends of classical-prog-thrash-metal transcendence of genre: "Paranoia > Dystopia Symphony" CD audio with [cc] lyrics: ua-cam.com/video/yu0NwiC18y0/v-deo.html Haruna's drums slightly enhanced. (together they are a 12min story of the c0v!d era) 🐺 dreg👁

AND, historically significant - the only direct songwriting collab between Miho and Miyako, which explains itself!

I like David's solos, big fan, but this sounds more like Gary Moore to me...
Thanks for this, though I will challenge you once again to demonstrate your ability to ENDURE
LOVEBITES' immaculate blends of classical-prog-thrash-metal transcendence of genre:
