It makes no sense to pay top money for an old veteran. If we were one or two players away from a super bowl team then I would say yes, but we've got a lot of building to go and we need to do it with youth and lower cap hits. Save that money and pay for the players that we are grooming now like Terry McLaurin.
Mixed feelings. On the one hand.... we don't have a legit O-Line, and we have a couple back-ups as starting material at LT. And that alway sbig trouble - but particularly when you've got a Rookie (right-handed) QB that is supposed to be our future. So yeah. But then.. he's old now. He was always hurt those last few years. And he was always seemingly unhappy. He hated being here. But then again - he hated the previous regime - not this one. I don't think he hated being a Redkin. The fans, area, etc. Who knows.
Nah, were re-calibrating. By the time we get good he'll be going downhill a lil. Hes still the best but we wont need here for 2-3 years

I don't mind players renegotiating their contracts. It just doesn't make sense to pay top dollar for a 36 year old guy when we're in the process of building a team and have many holes to fill. I don't care how good he is. We are not one or two pieces away.

I agree with most of what you mentioned, but if we renegotiate signed contract, then the team can renegotiate and make the contract less when some players are not playing good, and it happens a lot, many players played poorly after getting a good contract.
And you are correct at his age. No way, he reached his peak. HTTR

He just signed ..don't know how long his contract is...but if he reaches FA..in 25'... then we should look to sign him....he probably retires as a 49er...would be nice to get him back.
