Digitakt OS 1.50 Upgrade Overview

- As found in Octatrack, Model:Cycles or Syntakt, the concept of Machines has now also reached Digitakt. In this tutorial, we explore the four Machines - Oneshot, Werp, Repitch, and Slice - that come with the OS 1.50 Upgrade.
We also cover some creative tools that allow you to push Digitakt’s sequencer and samples further. For example, using Trigless Trigs to parameter lock values without re-triggering samples, using random locks in Slice to get new rhythmic ideas, or using Werp to really pull apart samples and turn them into completely new elements. saying that Elektron does know how to keep their customers satisfied is vastly understating it. This is absolutely insane and I doubt whether anyone can name another company that even comes close to this. Thank you Elektron. There is still hope for this world :-)
Fully agree with you !!!!
I can name a few Roland, AKAI, Novation....
Imageline
@@miss.antidote idk about Roland. They seem pretty out of touch with what their customers want.
@@reecedeyoung6595 I disagree updates to the 404 and 707 having been amazing.
What the heck, this is like Digitakt 2.
Werp is literally what i've been looking for in my Digitakt for SO LONG. I spend so much time tuning my drums and making sure it's on time with the tempo. That's such a good upgrade, thanks team!
Haven't used my digitakt in a long while but this was my biggest problem back when I did, I always had to prepare the samples in ableton and then transfer them to the digitakt because it was really hard to get the timing etc. right!
That’s exactly what this machine was missing. You crazy swedes, thank you so much. That is customer care. ❤
I didn't expect this. Great to see the ongoing support for the Digitakt over the years. It's become a classic.
Well done Elektron, your commitment to supporting your products for years and are still adding features 5 years after releasing the Digitakt is why I bought a new one this week.
Please put these in the next update for my Analog Rytm Mk II 🙌
"Werp" demo is a total banger. Thank you Elektron
Looking forward to watching the full expiration of all four machines.
Well... you guys just sealed the deal between the Digitakt and all the other sequencers I was looking at. THANK YOU! I was stressed looking for something haha.
would love this for my rytm
this is so far above and beyond anything i ever expected out of this machine. thank you Elektron
Wow! 😮this machine keeps developing and getting better with each update…It’s incredible!
Whoa, thanks so much, for keeping it updated. That takes it to another level, highly appreciated...
this is massive!! ty guys so much
This is amazing! thank you Elektron team!
This shows a huge dedication to maximizing value for your customers. thx!
All of this was actually possible before, as “tricks” and “hacks”, but now that it’s legit machines that don’t occupy lfos, don’t require complicated setup and allow parameter locking, that makes DT much much better!
Love my Digitakt and now love even more. Can't wait to get into these other machines.
The lack of what is now called the Slice machine is literally what was keeping me from nabbing a digitakt. LET'S GOOOOOOOOO
Great features, you just made me rediscover this instrument.
Oh man, this is exactly what I've wished for. Reason to fire up my digitakt again
I'm about to shit my pants. The lack of features like this is what I was just complaining about yesterday. Thank you elektron!
I bought it a few years ago for 499€ new and now its 899€ this is so funny I could sell it right now for more than i have paid new 😂 and on top you are delivering massive updates 🔥🔥🔥 thanks Elektron ❤
dunno if i was imagining the price increase 😂 soo funny. gatekeep the digitakt before it’s the price of an op1
Two reasons:
Inflation went crazy after covid, then a shortage of supplies for manufacturing, and the price of energy cos of the war.
The other reason is when they release their machines they are not free of bugs, so the early customers are working as beta testers.
Same lolll!
@@yucuma6827 actually it’s only one reason there is no real competition for this device, form factor usability features and so on + Elektron is on the top of software programming and keeping with updates their machines alive still years after the first release
REALLY impressive update
WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!! thanks Elektron you guys are the best!
wow. they implemented 16 LFOs in the MD UW! Thanks Elektron never give up on the retrofit!
Can't wait to install this update
So basically it's a whole new piece of gear You added features that solved all those workarounds that people used for years. Thanks Elektron!
PS
Did he say dee-JEE-takt? Is that canon?
Amazing, great work!
YESSSS!!! Thanks!! new year new machine!! time to explore!!!
Fucking wow man, if price increases mean you guys get such great updates out at this pace, I'm all for it!
Yoooo this is sick can’t wait to check it out thank you so muchhh :))))
I literally secured a second hand purchase of an Octatrack last night for the sole purpose of sample chopping and then this drops! HOOOOOLY SHIT!
Hang on to your OT, though. As dope as this update is, I'm not sure I would call this functionality "chopping".
@@robertgarvansnyder4665 Oh definitely going to hold onto it (technically can't hold onto it yet until tomorrow when I pick it up though! haha).
@@robertgarvansnyder4665 yea i don't think u can manually adjust the slice points. from what i understand slicing works with a fixed grid which is pretty limited
Thank you Elektron!
This was definitely unexpected but absolutely welcome. Can't believe that Elektron is putting out new features in a 6 years old hardware but not complaining :D
This is an amazing update!!
Holy shit! Massive smile on my face right now. What an upgrade!
This is such a great update!!!
damn this is sick can't wait to try it out tonight
1.60: ability to send the MIDI tracks internally (like using the MIDI loopback trick). The ability to select if each tracks is routed into the compressor or post-compressor (like you can currently do with the reverb). The ability to paramater lock and use LFOs on the external mixer (pan, volume, send levels), plus add at least the base-width filter to the external mixer (if not overdrive, bit and sample reduction, and the main resonant filter with envelopes). More than one flavor of low-pass filter, plus the ability to have it keyboard track and have the filter envelope respond to velocity.
And slice to transient.
Awesome update!
It’s always good news when u see Mario.
Thank you Elektron :)
That is absolutely crazy. ❤
Wow y’all are crazy for this amazing work
Thank you for this ♥️
Now, If give Octatrack the freedom of Overbridge, nothing could be more perfect in this world.
other companies would try to stell you a whole new machine for that. Big thanks for that 🤝🏽
Now we need “Machines” for Analog Rytm MK2 with slices distributed on the 12 separate pads. Unless missed the update?
this is amazing. thank you
2nd life to my Digitakt!
Hats off to Elektron
I could cry!
Yeah really nice Maschine🎵🎶💙💛💚♥️💜❤️🧡👍🏼🚀👌
holy shit, guess im getting a digitakt
Whaaaaaaa! Cant believe this, it goes to show we are Trully living in the simulation ;) just kidding thanks Elektron we love you long time!
Would love to have some new features for the RYTM. Why does it keep getting overlooked? I thought it was top of the line? I can get a digitakt and Syntakt for the same price and have more sonic tools.
WoW ❤
That's amazing Thanks for that!
Question: does slice auto stretch the loop to the current tempo/bar length?
SAMPLE SLICER! YES!!!!!
Thank you, thank you!! Love Elektron. @mario any chance Rytm will also get the update?
So glad I didn't sell this piece of gear! 😁😁😁😁😁
jesus yall just don't ever stop DELIGHTING MEEEEEEEEEEEEE
she was a queen
YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
😍wooow
Wazaa woah hatstand woo yah bro
We need this auto re-pitch function on the OT plz ❤
Truly exciting updates but where can I cop that shirt??
want the same for my analog ryhtm !!
Y’all had me at slice guess I’ll be dusting the digitakt off
Timestretching and Slicing? Digitakt vs Octatrack just became a more interesting convo
I'd have given song mode back and all the rest of this stuff just to have it slice by transients and edit start end points. What happens when you want to slice literally anything that's not quantised to a grid. You're just going to end up with pops etc at the end of slices. Po33 KO and Koala app both do this easily.
❤
Repitch has me mmmmm righ there
🤘
Looks like the features of the Ableton Sampler, nice.
magnificent
Does 'Slice' have a slice by transients mode or is it just evenly spaced segments? If not then I think this is a missed trick.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
WHAT
I cnt believ this
OMGwow
i KNOW THAT RICKY'S HAND AT THE END
Does mute cut off the audio yet? Or does it just stop the triggers?
Time stretching yeeeesss
Elektron = best company
Also, I understand that you cannot change individual slices length is that right?
Holy Hell
✌
please let us make individual length slices
Let him cook!
We really need an update to bring some of these features to the rytm mk2. It's wild because at this point the Rytm (as the flagship machine) feels underpowered compared to the digitakt.
wait so the DT now has timestretching?!
midi re-triggering still not implemented : I. WHY? how hard could it be?
Is there extra polyphony/voices per track yet?!?!
rip every other hardware sampler
I wouldn’t say that the digitakt still can not play stereo samples 😅
@@phelper4554 OT 4eva
@@phelper4554 not yet
@@VyletPony i think it will not come otherwise the octatrack is not so valuable anymore
MPC Live 2. ✔✌️
✌🏽
do it for the rytm to pleaseeeeee :)
Price will go up now due to this new firmware, I believe.
Polyphony and converting inputs as 3/4 alternative outputs - this will be the end
Please, Devs! Ratchets for Analog Four MK1 and MK2!
