- Join me in my Hearts of Iron IV Let's Play as the Kingdom of Italy. We'll be deposing Mussolini and ridding Italy of fascism, granting full power and authority to King Victor Emmanuel III. We may also eventually take the Mare Nostrum focus and rebuild the Roman Empire.
I discuss my reasoning and strategy as I play, thus this walkthrough could serve as a tutorial or guide.

I loved the episode and am excited for the series. I haven't got a chance to play since the expansion was released but I'm most excited for the peace treaty overhaul.
Yeah the peace treaty changes are definitely my favorite change, but everyone knows how much I hated the former system lol
Promising new DLC and great overture.
I already finished 2 campaigns: I still believe the tanks/ships/planes auto-update option is a nice feature, given that XP are so important but scarce in the game. I understand sometimes it gets messy with no point, but it also is quite often useful.
Regarding your sound decision to discard early hulls ships in the beginning, which I also used to do, I just happened to win a game with a rather old French navy (plus some new subs): with the proper navy features research, there's not much point to invest in 1936-1944 hulls, except to get new engines. I defeated many countries with my old navy, with minimal loss. And was happy to overhaul old destroyers, although not necessary. I'm quite happy with that result, since I used to be obsessed about impossible latest research in all fields: more and more I love HOI4 because it forces us to make compromises, we can't have it all 🙂.
Finally! Make Italy great again! And fun too.

Siii finalmente, Forza Italia! Could you name the air superiority fighters the Frecce Tricoloi (Tricolor arrows) it's Italy's acrobatics team (think blue angels/Thunderbirds)

For one plane model you could name them Aquila meaning eagle in Italian and of course what Roman legionaries carried into battle. I know you didn't promise you would reform Rome, but eagle makes sense for a plane. This looks like it'll be a fun campaign, im excited to see more.

Since you are going down the kings route you might want to do the secret path for the Italian tree. I wont spoil it unless you want me to, but I can say that to go there you first have to do the kings path anyway.
If you mean the papal route, I don't think it's much of a secret at this point lol

I used to go over patch notes on this channel, but stopped due to lack of time and the fact that other channels started to do patch notes videos as well, resulting in mine getting a lot less views than they used to.

@@PraetorianHiJynx yeah, I kinda agree since some of Il Duce modifiers really bad like that war industry thing, better to solve that ASAP rather than dillydalling it. But the bonus on Ethiopian War Logistics were kinda great tho

Naval rebalance
Yeah there was a naval rebalance.
Personally I think you should do towards a greater Italy.
I find that side less exciting since it mostly only grants claims and war goals. The finisher focus does have a powerful modifier though.
@@PraetorianHiJynx personally I like to play my games a little more realistic which is why I would prefer to see towards a greater Italy. But I get most of your viewers and hoi4 players in general would rather see Rome. Whatever you pick I’ll be here to watch.
