      Hi Vlad!
Sorry if I'm detracting from the Navalny issue, but there is a topic that I would like your opinion on.
I recently watched an interview with Robert Kennedy jr, who is in the race for the US presidency this year. He stated as a fact, what I had always thought was an unproven theory, that the Maidan revolution in Ukraine 2014 was a CIA-instigated coup, with the new Cabinet being decided on by Washington, before the new election had even taken place. He claimed that this was a known fact among Washington politicians, and that there are documents to prove it.
IF that is true, wouldn't it, as much as we may dislike it, prove Putin's claims right that today's Ukraine is in fact a US puppet state? And then, it would not be so clear anymore who is in the right? Since the US basically destroyed a russia-allied government?
We might not like this perspective, but I think it is important to adress.

A man willingly walked into hell so others might take example from him and find courage in their souls! I really hope Navalny's sacrifice won't be in vain and his legacy will be remembered by Russians. But do i believe it will happen? Sadly no, mostly probably he will be forgotten in dusty history books nobody reads anymore. We became too corrupt to follow such great examples while only caring about our own self-interests, nothing else. And it is not even only Russians, everybody, so called ''humanists'' trying to defend Ukraine against Russian invasion while at the same time same people are supporting Israeli invasion somehow! Human values are still subjective in 21st century even according to ''liberals'' and they act like an Ukrainian is more important than a Palestinian literally blatantly, and millions of people watching are like that makes sense! We lost the war for humanity, men like Navalny never had any chance as the era belongs to wicked and the worst of us will prevail...

And other than the sanctions and military aid post-22 no murder and no invasion ever had any meaningful consequences for Putin.

    Brillant Vlad. Truly brillant obituary/commentary.
A perfect obituary can be penned if one has 10 or even 20yrs to cogitate on it. But less than 12hrs later to produce this is exceptional. I hope like newpaper obits you didn't have it ready! Even though, as you say, it wasn't a surprise. RU and thus, the West's loss.
Great work - superbly done - with new camera angels and dramatic music! Navalny's production crew would be impressed :) A fitting tribute to a modern communicator. Bravo.

No; Putin wants compliance, and to kill one to frighten a thousand is nothing new. He's up to his elbows in it already, and the Black Tulip Express is in service. Navalny was a dead man walking to as soon as he was imprisoned. So, the shock power of his passing is minimal. People will have chosen where they stood as soon as Navalny was taken off the board.

    Hi Vlad,
Firstly, thank you for your work.
    A few quick notes.
A courageous man, a man who returned after being poisoned, knowing the stakes and consequences, was slowly tortured in prison, and then killed.
He was incredibly important in mobilizing a certain segment of the younger generation, and even if he failed to politicize the Soviet-minded lump, at the very least it made their internal compromise more difficult. The courage it took to do this works was immense. His team did it because of his character and commitment.
His loss, while in some way inevitable, once he made the decision to return (unless the regime fell beforehand), is nonetheless remarkably tragic. Tragic because it represents an a certain end. Tragic because he left behind his wife, and two children.
Perhaps at times like this, it is best to take 48 hours off from deep analysis, and to simply acknowledge the tragedy in simple, humane, and sincere words.
Humanity, vulnerability, and some space for grief, will only make the beautiful community stronger.
    Lev
