    Firstly thank you for giving up the size 24 the moment it arrived.. I well snaffled it😂.
    The uls is my second 2 liner..
    My first was the Zeno.
    I liked it and flew it for 5 years in the mountains but I never really trusted it.. I really enjoy Hike and fly and I was delighted to hear that they were going to make the 24, so placed the order.. I had to wait an almost unbearable fortnight for it to arrive!!😂
    Coming on to the ULS from the zeno was a joy and I felt at home on it straight away.. the agility coming from the zeno made my cheeks ache from the smiles.
    Thinking of the two wings as drinking buddies, you would have a great time with both.. but the zeno was the buddie you knew could kick off at anytime..
    The ULS gets the beers in..
    It's a joy and its performance is useable and comfortable..
    I love its stall resistance because I know there will be a time I have to get tt in somewhere tight in the alps.. This is the tool for the job💯 after 5 years of packing a 2 liner.. nitinol is the way to go..
    Small pack no faff..
    I've flown it in all conditions in the UK and the Alps..
    This is a very sorted paraglider..

    Just want to say how much I appreciate your thoughtful approach to reviewing a glider . Very detailed in the areas im interested in, brake travel, stall points, the way you describe feel, etc . Thanks!

    Excellent. What about a side by side with zeolite 2 and klimber… If I read you well this wing might be a great consideration for guys looking at C 2 liners such as photon as a option for light pack (this is my case 😂)

      Glad you enjoyed it. 😊 We'll certainly do a side by side comparison of the Zeolite 2 / GT with the Klimber 3 P (actually already done) and others if we can! 🤓 And as always we'll publish another free Flybubble video for this if possible! 😀

      you can definitely feel the AR more on this one than on Photon, which moves less in the tips and feels like less work. Which is not the same as saying it's safer than Omega, it can be pretty nasty too. Both have terribly long brakes though :D

    Excellent review, I am looking for a lightweight wing for my next glider? I see my options as the Omega ULS, Klimber and the Zeolite 2. I currently fly a Photon with about 70 hours in alpine conditions. This looks like my next wing middle of next year maybe? but also looking into the Zeolite 2. will you go reviewing the Zeolite 2. The Zeolite 2 may be a progression of the Photon with a bit more pilot demand. However the Omega ULS looks very good?

    • @kocot.
      @kocot. 10 місяців тому +1

      if its true what they say about zeolite 2 having similar handling to the first version and given Luc's input and some of the feedback I've heard so far, I'd expect Zeolite 2 being much more agile, well behaved but moving a lot and direct to control glider. Totally different story than the Photon, and it's always on the different side of handling than Omegas. You might actuallyt feel more familiar with omega than zeolite after photon... surely that would be true with the original Zeolite

      I'm of course very excited to test Ozone's Zeolite 2 and Zeolite 2 GT and as always we will publish a free Flybubble video review if possible. Our main limitations are resources, spare time and weather. making video reviews takes up a lot more of our time than just testing. To give an idea, we only manage to publish reviews of about 10% of the gear we test, and we already have many other video projects in the production queue.

      Hope you have tons of fun testing the gliders and enjoy every single sledder.
      Luckily, I haven't flown a single really bad wing in the last 7 or so years. But I'm happy if I can find time and 3-5 wings together with flying weather per year.
      Thanks for the nice reviews and all the efforts you put into it.
      Cheers

    How would you compare the Delight 4 and Arrow in regards to stability in flight (in strong conditions) ? They are both suggested as first pod harnesses.... do you find one significantly more forgiving than the other ? Is the Delight4 providing less authority in weightshift with that much smaller seaboard?
    Thanks! : )

    • @flybubblecarlo
      @flybubblecarlo 10 місяців тому +2

      In brief, having tested the Supair Delight 4 (and Delight 4 Sport) and Niviuk Hawk (and Arrow) extensively since they were first released, our findings are the Delight 4 is relatively more stable (and the Gin Genie Lite 3 and Genie X-Lite and Woody Valley GTO light 1 and 2 are relatively less stable). The more active the air is, the more the difference is noticeable. However, we neither find the Delight 4 overtly stable, nor the Hawk / Arrow overtly unstable. Some might feel the Delight 4 provides less authority in weight shift; others might not agree. Anyway from my testing of harnesses my testing I don't believe the smaller seaboard is the deciding factor in this. Other factors are at least as important, and probably more so e.g. harness geometry. Full Flybubble review of the Niviuk Hawk and Arrow in the works (in brief, for those who want an idea sooner: we think there are both excellent and very sorted semi-light pod harnesses, very well made, super comfortable with nice weight shift authority and features, and only a minor quibbles).

    There is no as easy x-alps wing as the Oxa 1 was. I found an Oxa1 with 80 hrs, I buy that again, 3 liner!

    I fly the Omega X-alps3. What is the difference between the Omega ULS and Omega X-alps3? I have read at Ziad Bassils that the ULS is not a good climber in weak conditions compared. What is you opinion?

    • @flybubblecarlo
      @flybubblecarlo 6 місяців тому

      From my testing of both in a wide variety of conditions the Omega ULS climbs even better than the OXA 3, in all conditions. On very weak days I was able to stay up and climb on the OULS where most others could not. It's a wing I'd choose to fly on light scratchy days (as well as strong ones). The OXA 3 is still a great wing which I personally love but honestly I cannot think of any reason I'd prefer it to the Omega ULS. For me Advance have kept the best of the OXA 3 and improved it in every area. I guess this isn't surprising especially since they effectively skipped the OXA 4 and so had 'extra time' for it's development. That's my opinion, anyway! Hope this helps.

    The long brakes are a serious deal breaker. some will like, but that means a bigger gap before you can actually affect the wing when taking off or dropping from B's. Advance says unofficially you can shorten them by some cm's, many do, at the same time in the manual they say you cannot :D What you also cannot do with Omega ULS is.... SIVs, similarly to the Weightless, it's not recommended to stall it etc. Wow, just wow. I guess Advance is trying to protect themselves from the warranty claims, which apparently they do reject if e.g. your harness breaks apart during reserve throw.
    As for the pack... IMO it's just a cost saving for Advance. They even produce lightweight, compressable concertinas AFAIR, those are much better to pack your stuff in dirt, wet or bushes, which is typical for H&F., the package contents for a wing of this price is generally a bit... poor - stickers, a roll of skytex in 1 color baby sized wind sock and a bag with a zipper :D
