@@NicholasHenkey I played around with custom recoveries and different ROM's. On more than one occasion, I had wiped out entire partitions. I was able to partially fix it a couple times, but now nothing is working and I'm at my wit's end. I was originally using the OnePlus recovery tool, the one with the "flash-all.bat" script that basically did everything. But that stopped working, I kept getting a command saying "failed. remote: partition not found" I believe it was when it got to vbmeta.
Anyway, I decided to try this tool you're using. After some tinkering with drivers, I got this tool to recognize my phone. But I'm having an issue with the param preload. But it's different than the usual issue with param preload. It's not the one where is quits at 6 seconds saying "param preload failed". Instead, the param preload is successful, but then nothing happens afterwards. The "time elapsed" counter will go on and on. 400 seconds pass, and it's still doing nothing. I'm not sure what's going on, if I can get this tool to work, or my phone is just a lost cause.
@@ddg2256 ah man, these are errors I've never encountered before. There's something wrong that is far beyond my skill-set. Those partitions are really deep in the Android 10+ architecture
does this still apply if I have a unlocked Tmobile 7t? by unlocked i mean sim unlocked and bootloader unlocked and it's running a custom rom
Yes, most likely your phone was switched to internal firmware at some point. From experience, custom ROMs do not work correctly with stock TMobile firmware
@@NicholasHenkey I did convert it to the Global firmware strangely enough the Global firmware never boots up, but flashing a custom rom on top of it works fine with the sim and wifi working too

Unfortunately I'm unable to replicate your problem since all of these seem highly specific
What can you do if the bootloader status is locked? Because the phone in fact is bricked so I can’t change it in development options
This is *supposed* to work even with locked bootloaders. With phones that have locked bootloaders you cannot use custom ROMs
Your comment contradicts itself. Which is it? Can I use it with a locked bootloader or not?
MSM bypasses the bootloader
This is video is not about custom ROMs, it is about a restore tool. There were two OnePlus 7T models sold in the US: T-Mobile and Global. Neither have locked bootloaders and I have a video on how to switch between the firmware versions
The "OnePlus 7T Mclaren" is a totally different phone with different components. It has a locked bootloader and this video will not work for it due to the fact that it has completely different firmware
@@NicholasHenkey I'm facing the same issue. Everything was fine but when the phone rebooting it got stuck at the logo and turned off automatically. when I checked fastboot menu, it shows device state as locked. is there something in particular that I need to do?
Everytime I press start on the msm tool it says “SMT config not found”
Well, that's frustrating. Looks like the software has an expiration date. This article says you have to temporarily change your system clock

@Nicholas Henkey thanks for the quick reply.im just facing a problem with my phone. It's an oneplus 7t.. I flashed the arrowos 12 on it yesterday and didn't like it so I'm trying too flash it back to stock OS and lock the bootlloader. I tried the other method with the flash all.bat and it runs half way then says partition failed and the flashboot never boots back up. I tried installing the adb drivers and qualicomm drivers. Would I need an os 12 flash boot rom to bring everything to stock?
@@ns5337 Oh man, I don't think there's a V12 stock ROM out. MSM tool back to A10 should be your best bet because I think OnePlus discontinued stock ROM releases with their recent A11 release
Some people in the comments had issues with MSM tool expiring which requires modifying windows' system date. Not sure if that's one version or all of them
What of i have the boot block activated?
If you are saying that your bootloader is locked, EDL mode overrides that phone function. This process will wipe your phone, though
HEY. I am worried. I have been trying for days now its not working. Phone gets detected but when its starting the status goes from connected to N/A and eventually it fails. It says sahara communication failed. I tried everything and followed every instruction even for sahara error. no help.

Anyone know anything about why the msm tool would crash after the login portion? Running Windows 10 and the msm tool keeps crashing right after I press 'Next' on the login. Analyzed the dump file and getting an 0xc06d007e error code (unknown software exception). Uninstalled my antivirus in case it was an antivirus overreach but that doesn't seem to be helping. Redownloading the tool in case something was somehow corrupted along the way but if anyone knows anything about why this might be happening, it'd be extremely helpful. I didn't even brick my phone messing around with the software, I was just installing the newest android update, and I feel like I keep getting roadblocks everywhere I go :( Thank you again so much for this video!!! It's been extremely helpful so far and I really really appreciate it.
Okay so it seems like this is an issue specifically with the Android 11 version of the msm tool, the Android 10 version is working just fine! :) In case anyone has this issue in the future.
Lol now my phone won't enter EDL mode. I'm holding the vol- and vol+, and definitely not pressing the power button, while plugging in the USB-C cable and it always goes into fastboot mode *siiiiiiiigh*
Alright, just seems that msm tool isn't detecting my phone on EDL mode and that probably has to do with the qualcomm drivers but for some reason, windows won't let me install the drivers and they're not appearing under Windows Update when I plug in my phone :(
Got it recognized by msm tool by holding down just the vol + button without holding down the vol - so if anyone is having the same issue where your phone isn't being recognized, try inserting the ucb-c while holding down the vol + button I guess lol

Hey, sorry for such a late reply. It looks like you also asked for help on XDA forums. I found an article with troubleshooting steps here:

Do you know which model it is? HD1907 or HD1905 are the two most common, if you use the wrong MSM tool it could cause issues.
@@NicholasHenkey It was bought unlocked direct from the Oneplus store but then ATT customer support went into the phone while trying to fix something and I think they locked it right before it crashed.
@gislainefernandes responded to your XDA comment (UA-cam comments have been giving me issues lately). There are a few things you can check but it looks like ATT has been a problem with the OP7T for a lot of people. Things you can try:
1) Install drivers
2) Change to factory cable
3) Different USB port
4) Different Windows computer?
I also posted a link to a thread over there. Someone completely removed their Qualcomm drivers and reinstalled fresh. It was the only thread I could find where someone solved your error
