Jay Wilson answered a question about resistance and immunities this during the BlizzCon 2010 Panel: Open Q&A: As for immunities, we're not doing double/triple immunities (in monsters). We don't want to completely hurt a character's ability to hurt something. We also diversify damage types more across the classes (than was done in Diablo II). But we still can't count on a class having a diversity of damage types we can use. From diablowiki net
It's you! My favorite D3 player after Kripparrian!!!! You two are basically tied but I like barbs more than monks. This video was very helpful. Good luck on beating Athene.. though I don't think you are going to need it ;)
You can escape jail, slow, and ice effects with spirit walk. Once you go into spirit walk you can't take damage. You are basically invincible and super fast for the duration. You can still attack or res players too. The only thing I know that you can't escape is Diablo's bone cage, though you can escape after he picks you up. I know the site says "spirit walk will end if your body is brought below 50%", but I guess they changed it in beta. Spirit walk = my favorite WD skill.
I'm not 100% sure on the immunity thing...from some data mined information I have seen fire immune was a listed affix, but I can't be 100% sure they got it right or if it was just in the game and disabled. We do know some mobs have resistance to particular spell types and it wouldn't be far fetched that a mob might have one type of elemental immunity in inferno. With the ease of changing specs it wouldn't be to big of a deal. But it was said that there will be no complete immunities awhile back.
I am actually unsure if you can spirit walk while jailed, but if you can, lets just hope your body doesn't take so much damage you get removed from spirit walk before you can get far.
Your body doesn't take damage when you are in spirit walk, even though the website says that it does. But no you can't escape jailer with it. You can escape most everything else including being frozen.
maybe a stupid question but how is it you were getting to play the game in its entirety? did they have a closed beta that only invited a small number of people before doing the open beta that was only part of act 1?
For anyone curious, the pictures and laid out info is from the official guide by BradyGames.

That molten affix looks pretty cool :)
The closed beta was the same as the open beta with the exception I could play anytime I wanted until the beta ended.
