Mike, people often judge the authenticity of others' faith on whatever their "pet" issue is (often turning a blind eye to their own erroneous orthodoxy and/or orthopraxy). Some people choose the abortion issue as their crucible, others choose Sabbath observance, others choose social justice issues like being generous to the poor or defending the powerless. With all due respect, might your pet issue be homosexuality? Although you correctly concede that we aren't called to be "moral police", you appear to be doing just that in judging the Fishers' faith. Interestingly, Jesus is not recorded in the Gospels as having spent much time pointing out sin (other than when he "raised the bar" on righteousness in his teachings, so as to show the religious leaders that also fell short of the law). I'm not completely familiar with all of the statements you quoted, and I would certainly be interested in their contexts. However, the Church's primary mission isn't to proclaim what is and isn't "sin". The point isn't to ignore sin, but to share the good news that the sin issue has been settled by what Jesus accomplished on the cross. If we can convince the world that all have sinned and fall short - and then show them that faith in Jesus is the antidote, we should be confident that the Holy Spirit will change the hearts, minds, and appetites of believers to where they will become Christlike in all of their lives, including their sexuality. If we are caught up in a sin-focused discipleship agenda, we will inevitably fail as we will disciple believers according to our own predispositions. For the life of me, I can't fathom how songs and videos about murder and/or bank robbing is a witness or 'light' for Christ as Mike speaks of. Personally, I've heard many fellow followers state how disappointed they are in Carrie and how she's taken the platform God blessed her with to proclaim worldly topics and desires, rather than the fact that "JESUS *IS* the answer, as Mike ( in this interview) claims she does.

Some people choose the abortion issue as their crucible, others choose Sabbath observance, others choose social justice issues like being generous to the poor or defending the powerless. With all due respect, might your pet issue be homosexuality? Although you correctly concede that we aren't called to be "moral police", you appear to be doing just that in judging the Fishers' faith. Interestingly, Jesus is not recorded in the Gospels as having spent much time pointing out sin (other than when he "raised the bar" on righteousness in his teachings, so as to show the religious leaders that also fell short of the law). I'm not completely familiar with all of the statements you quoted, and I would certainly be interested in their contexts. However, the Church's primary mission isn't to proclaim what is and isn't "sin". The point isn't to ignore sin, but to share the good news that the sin issue has been settled by what Jesus accomplished on the cross. If we can convince the world that all have sinned and fall short - and then show them that faith in Jesus is the antidote, we should be confident that the Holy Spirit will change the hearts, minds, and appetites of believers to where they will become Christlike in all of their lives, including their sexuality. If we are caught up in a sin-focused discipleship agenda, we will inevitably fail as we will disciple believers according to our own predispositions. If we point people to Christ and trust Him with the results, we will succeed!

Mike talks about how he and Carrie live out their fath and beliefs. For the life of me, I can't fathom how songs and videos about murder and/or bank robbing is a witness or 'light' for Christ as Mike speaks of. Personally, I've heard many fellow followers state how disappointed they are in Carrie and how she's taken the platform God blessed her with to proclaim worldly topics and desires, rather than the fact that "JESUS *IS* the answer, as Mike ( in this interview) claims she does.

Actually Mike has always been like that.. can't say anything for Carrie but my dad coached mike way back in the day in Peterborough Ontario Canada.. he hasn't really changed at all..
