Man it must be a trip to see this footage! Any special stories from that night? Magic things happen in magical places and that sure seemed like it was one that night
I was there in total awe. I had never heard of him and was getting ready to leave the concert. But some guy told me I would miss the Yellowman. So I stayed and it was well worth it.
I first saw Yellowman in 1987 in a concert on the pier in New York City, he opened for Third World. You could tell this guy 'had it' the crowd was in the palm of his hand and he worked it like a fine machine. I bought a few of his albums and became an instant fan. About a year later on my first trip to Jamaica we were in Negril. The very first afternoon on the beach this guy with a megaphone comes up yelling 'Tonight mon, at Kaiser's on the cliff, the one and only 'King Yellowman' will be appearing live and direct mon, Live and Direct !' We couldn't believe it, first night in Jamaica and we're going to a Yellowman show just a few miles away ! Eddie Fitzroy opened the show and Yellowman didn't come on till after 1:00 AM, as things move in Jamaica time. My friend had a portable tape recorder and captured the show, I still have a copy of it, what a moment in time.
Tears came down my eyes to think I used to sing some of those rhymes to my babies it’s so good to see him praise God and declare the love of the Holy Spirit amen ! Reggae is soooo cool like that we can dance and celebrate the most High and be happy
I've only seen King Yellowman at 60+ years old. Still the highest energy performer if ever seen. High knees back and forth on the stage. Not missing a beat. when people have their cameras out, he puts his face right into the lens. Most underrated entertainer. Absolute legend. Long live King Yellowman!
I Was born 91 so this was 10 year's before I was born but nearly age 26 I can't stop listening to yellow man he's the best maybe in another 10 years all the other youngsters will like him to
Those were the days when nursery rhymes lyrics were the order of the day. It was perhaps the most complex language used in those days...Today the Artists have gone way beyond that....but some how I like those days with its simple & catchy lyrics
+Ahamefule Ebogu I was a student in FSS Victoria Island in Nigeria and would sing this word for word........And that was how I got the nickname Yellowman....Nuff memories
Barry G introduced King Yellow to the crowd who had been here all night in Mo-bay for Sunsplash. At 05.30 in the morning he walks on stage and smashes it!! Luv u yellowman
men i use to go crazy about yellow man song i remember watching this show on nigerian national tv 1986 when they use to show reggae sunsplash in nigerian national tv station NTA every sarturday

1982, yellow man sun splash, concert, I was in the starting place, I fealt fire pokers going through my body 1979, 1981, I cryed for no reason back then, I don't think yellow man new what he was rapping,,, it's a challenge in my life
Yellow man is the main reason I love reggae music. As a kid here in America I couldn’t stand it being my mom always played it, but yellow man is the main reason why I learned about my mothers island (Kingston 13) and culture background & gave me a reason to grow with & feel the reggae culture..
@@qualitycontenteveryday6288 I was looking on you tube I don't see many vids of young yellow man. especially any lengthy ones. If you know of some please let me know. I'm sure there are some I just couldn't find many.
