Our symphonic band is playing this song, and our wind ensemble played Carmina Burana and went to festival and received all 1's. Our band is good. One of the best in Tennessee.
I'm playing this as a seventh grader and I can't say whether it's easy or difficult because i have the stupid bass line, which is never challenging in any way. :'( but i love playing it. it makes me smile!
My class is playing this, but we made some major cuts. Like, we play from the beginning until the last note of "I just cant wait to be king" and then we go to the Dixieland Shuffle where lead alto sax (me) and lead tenor, lead trumpet, lead trombone, and the set player all play that. and the we play until the end of Hakuna Matata and we cut to measure 218. Lots of cuts.c:
i love this song. only thing was tht in can u feel the love tonight the flutes and clarinets weren't in tune with eachother. or something. it sounded a little bit weeird. but it was good..
My band tried to play this in eigth grade and basically failed. But I played the flute solo and owned this person! Anyways. My only critique is in the circle of life, the flute part got a little overwhelming. (...)
In the trumpet jazz solo, what are the articulations, besides the grace note? It sounds like he/she's bending the note really quickly. I have no idea what this is called :/
I DONT HEAR THE XYLOPHONE IN THE FIRST 4 MINS!! ALSO NO MARIMBA IN THE HAKUNA MATATA... 0/10 good besides the missing or very quiet xylo... xylo is made to be loud though.
@TheDarthChilo How do you know I'm not a percussionist or something? Oh... bass line. Yeah, I know it's bad for tone... music is life, though. when people are happy though, they generally smile. :)
The trumpet solo in Hakuna Mata is way off. It sounds like who ever is playing is taking too many breaths and staggering off the notes......They should be way better if they are the region band! agreed?
@TheDarthChilo Yeah... does anyone other than percussion actually consider percussion a real instrument? Because i know it is, but... i don't know. to me it will always be hitting things with sticks. no offence to all you percussionists out there. trombone's cool too though... is your band playing this?
Oh really? My band played the same thing at our concert three days ago. Our trumpet solo was way better. It sounds like the person couldn't hold out notes. That's not style "Pal". It's called they can't hold out notes. Jeez :/
i love this song. only thing was tht in can u feel the love tonight the flutes and clarinets weren't in tune with eachother. or something. it sounded a little bit weeird. but it was good..
We are playing this now, and I'd have to say it's my favorite song.

This music isn't all that difficult, my middle school band played it a few years ago.
I DONT HEAR THE XYLOPHONE IN THE FIRST 4 MINS!! ALSO NO MARIMBA IN THE HAKUNA MATATA... 0/10 good besides the missing or very quiet xylo... xylo is made to be loud though.

@janeflower78
On circle of life? yeah... i thought it was fast too, but i don't know. Maybe it's supposed to be like that. I don't like it that fast.
