"Loans are not there to be used continually" .... actually many farmers have what is called an Operating Loan. Its a set line of credit based off of your farm size that you can pull from when needed and repay whenever you sell your product to help with your cash flow. For example I pull money out in the spring to pay for seed and then repay it in the middle of the summer when the grain prices are higher.
One day I’m watching this dude plant trees and on another I’m breaking my neck to thrash metal while he plows a field on a farming video game. I can’t imagine a better life.

For authenticity, when it comes to it root crops - beets and potatoes do best in loam. Clay - too wet, sandy soil - too dry and neither type is good for retaining vital nutrients
10:00 You can use the Conservation Agriculture mod. It applies some realistic conservative methods to get your field fertilized for example, but also allows direct seeding into grass (or anything if you have the create fields setting turned on).

Loving the realistic series so far mate. I totally agree bailing was the way to go! Gets good use of the netting mod and is way more efficient than a wagon!

Next time just back in with the plow between the fence post, it would be easier than tractor first. Try it
I think a flatbed trailer can be reversed into the barn, and then have machinery driven on and off the back through the hole in the barn wall
Leveling out the yard: would be good to do, yes! unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that is not possible. It's not just the FS22 ground (textures), but it's fixed concrete build by the mod maker. Also, the other building(s) are lower, so if you would be able to level out, it might block the other doors. That's the main reason why I decided not to play on this map :(

Just a suggestion, I would have taken those bails that you stacked in the field and actually went a bit further and dropped them over the fence and right into your yard so you could move/load them much easier without having to go all that way to get back into the field.

You can use the conveor belt on the back of the mower as a windrower when you mow for silage

If you want, Rent and use the jackhammer on the rocks in the field if it works. Then you have free gravel for the yard as well. 👍

since this is the realistic series, should you not keep the create field on ploughs on at all time? is not like a farmer IRL can turn it on and off right?... also love the metal music in the timelapse. My preffered music style

You should put some grass around the rock so it doesn't look like you ploughed through it

A mod i would recommend is the unload bales early mod
if doing this realistically, can you remove the narrow gates and replace them with wider ones when funds allow,
you can lso use the lizard front winddriller it skips you 1 step

What are you planning to do with the crop after harvested? I've noticed there's no silos on the farm.
You have a line of credit for 800k. Now i understand not wanting to max it out but you should at least get the tools you need to make money. You have sheep you cant sell. You have fields you struggle to rake and gather. You will eventually have a harvest you cant gather and you have wool and bales you struggle to take to market. You need to take a loan to thrive. Especially when you are going ultra realistic.

Is it just me or is he flipping the plow to the wrong side? Idk why but in my head I see it making more sense to have the tractor 100% on unplowed ground and the follower wheel of the plow in the last row of the furrow.
You knew it was possible to direct drill that field! You turned off create field mode and it still kept plowing...
You don't have to rotate the plow unless your going a different direction then the first furrows

I have upgraded (been given for free) my fs22 rig to using the Logitech G29 steering wheel but am really struggling to get the right key bindings (e.g full tractor use and on foot use), do you have any tips for getting these binds right or do i literally have to use my keyboard as well for the stuff i cant get my wheel to do ?

So I've started this series late and youre 7 episodes in now. But I keep hearing you upset about the JCB articulating. Im playing alongside you and using the same equipment. You can change the steering mode (ctrl-y i think) to 2 wheel steering. Thats what I use as well. I am not good with all wheel steering at all. Just a tip for you :)

I actually like this series. I know you start off with stuff and a already made farm which to me I never like but thats me lol I think the more realistic you play this game the better the game is. Couldn't mess about like ppl do but that's upto them.

What I haven't enjoyed this map as much compared to Ballyspring as you cannot delete structures. Not a big cattle guy as it eats up so much time and enjoy sheep more. I'd rather have two of the same sheep barns vice two cattle barns.
Or deleting the "trash" around the map... all about keeping it nice and neat on the operation!

I don't get why you aren't installing any GPS mods, it's realistic as hell and WAY more convenient while plowing, for example. And also smbd here already suggested a "delivery" mod of some kind so that you wouldn't have to run back and forth to the shop all the time.

Dag.. the speed your driving in the yard with the tractors is unrealistic. Nobody farmer will ever drive that fast in their yard.

Dagger I'm sry you have to plough for that much real time of ur life. you should use courseplay turn off all the markers and just record that in a timelapse so you can go about living ur life. the Simps wont know the diff.

Why don't you rather than sending money on a rake just use your mower properly like a rake that throws everything to one side
