I cant figure out how she’s not burning the ever-loving crap out of her fingers. She clearly touches fresh hot glue like 6 times. Thats some Savage hard core crafting
I learned the magic of low heat glue guns after nearly searing the flesh off my hands during a late night session of making small hats for an event. Low heat glue guns are absolutely amazing, and super useful if you’re incredibly hands on like I tend to be. You have to work faster because it cools faster, but you can touch it directly to tuck it to where it needs to be on the craft or if I need to flatten it to better conceal it. If you are working with a high heat glue gun and need to touch it for whatever reason, though, I’d say good timing is your best friend. Figure out how much time it takes for glue from your glue gun to cool, then wait for half of that time before trying to mess with stuff. If it’s still unbearable wait a bit longer, or if it’s too cooled to achieve your purpose reduce your wait time. And if you ever get glue directly on you, as much as it hurts, wait until it cools a bit before trying to remove it. That one finger may be burnt, but if you try to remove it while it’s still fluid it’ll get everywhere, and could lead to more burns.
I love the books! Now I want to make a little book tree, like, of general books, not just Harry Potter, and keep it up all year round lol. Happy Christmas!

Wow that was amazing I’m watch this in time for Christmas 2019. I’ll be making so of theses wonderful ornaments for my grandson who at the age of 7 is reading the Harry Potter books with his parents now. Thank you. You are so clever.
My next door neighbor who is also my best friend is a huge Harry Potter fan!! I will definitely be using my spare time in 2019 to make her these crafts for a mini “year round” tree!! Thank you for all of your wonder DIY’s and have a very Happy Christmas!
I made almost all of these crafty ornaments this year! Thank you so much for the patterns and video. My tree is so fun and my boyfriend was really surprised!
I know! It low key bothers me but so many people who watched only the movie or just don't know always use silver or grey. But hey, we get the jist and it still looks good!
Oh my goodness.... alternating mountain and valley folds is a literal REVELATION! Why did I never think of this! You are a queen! And this video is Christmas goals x
This was tremendous!! How can I pick just one favorite? The Quibbler books, fantastic! The House banners, amazing! But, Harry's trunk with Hegwig, oh that was sublime. Happy Christmas Karen. This tree with its Harry Potter theme was just the best.
My grandson is a big HP fan so will try a few of these ornaments for him, since I give all the grandchildren a special Christmas ornament every year. Thanks for this and Happy Christmas!
I just think Harry Potter is okay but your tree looks so nice and one can really tell how much time and care you put into it! I want to make the book ornaments for my sister who is a big fan and just a giant book reader in general. Happy Christmas! I hope you and your family enjoy yours!
My boyfriend and I are building them all tonight and tomorrow!!! We visited Michael's and the dollar store for materials :) Thankfully he owns crafting supplies already. THANKS for the amazing PDF!!!
Job well done, Karen. This warms my fangirl heart! Other ornament ideas/requests: - mini wands hung pointing down like icicles - the Goblet of Fire - the Triwizard Cup - prophecy balls from the Department of Mysteries (adaptation of Remembrall design) - Dobby's socks hung like Christmas stockings - thestral (empty ornament hanger randomly on the tree) - an old boot (secretly a Portkey?)
Thank you so much for these easy to do craft ideas. My wife has a Harry potter classroom, and I wanted to surprise her with Harry Potter Christmas tree! You just made my day.. Years after you posted this video... Happy Christmas and Thank you so much for your wonderful gift!
Wow! Just seeing this in November 2019 and about to search to see if part 2 is out. This was pretty amazing Karen! Thank you for all your hard work - the great video and the downloads. The ornaments are beautifully designed and look like something we really can make at home! My favorite was the Mini Marauder’s Map. Happy Christmas!
Most comments: it's October.. and I am watching a Christmas decoration video. Me: I am watching this.. and I am not even a Christian. 😂 Happy Christmas in advance y'all. - Potterhead
Do you still take part in Christmas even though you aren't a Christian ? I know a lot of atheist families that still do a party for Christmas, they do it because Christmas is still a nice family holliday, and giving gifts isn't a religious thing there. The tree was supposed to represente the tree in paradise, so it was a religious symbol, yet only a few Christians still see the tree as a religious symbol. Others do it for tradition and because it is a fun activity, and see the religious ceremony and the farm with the baby Jesus as clear religious symbol. At least that is how families I know celebrate Christmas.
I’m Pagan and I celebrate Christmas. The tree was originally a Pagan Tradition, as were the Yule Log;!the use of green, red, gold and silver; Holly, Mistletoe and Ivy; laurel wreaths; gift giving; candles; group singing; wassailing (mulled ale now mulled wine); a kindly old man with a long white beard that bestowed blessings/gifts (Odin).
"Mental, that one..." BTW, I use that phrase endearingly!!! Kind of like how people use the B-word endearingly... a negative phrase/word reversed... I think only HP fans get that!!! Anyway, I want to thank you for your video post, I will most likely share this with the HP die-hards here in my house!!!
Happy Christmas! How did I miss this video for almost a year? My 11 year old daughter is a huge HP fan and I can't wait to show her this video so we can start making some of these awesome ornaments! Thank you for all the great ideas!!
Weasley!! They were all very creative, but I think the house points counter was my fave! Thank you for sharing your talent and ideas. I made all of your ornaments from last year’s DIY for my classroom tree, and my students LOVE it, can’t wait to add these new ones!
Just wanted to say thank you Karen! Did some of these for my Hogwarts Christmas tree with floating candles behind and I've gotten so many compliments 🥰
You explain things so well, even a person who isn’t crafty would be able to do these. So excited to make a Harry Potter themed Christmas tree this year
I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!!!! Amazing! I think that Harry's Trunk as well as Your Trunk were my favorite ornaments. My daughter is getting married 12/7/19, so I think I am going to make a bunch for them for their first Christmas tree! Happy Christmas!
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing video,. My son is going to be happy when he opens up his gift full of Harry Potter ornaments. Look forward to seeing more 😉
nice video! yea old trees can be a pain to put together. for some years now my grandma has been leaving it together in the basement or attic or spare room. my mom used to make mini Christmas trees with around 6 metal hangers, and wrapping garland around it and a string of lights.
My goodness you are amazing ♡ Really what an incredible imagination! Wish I had a colour printer my grandchildren would be so impressed to see this tree!
The sequel to this video has arrived! I made 20 MORE Harry Potter Ornaments with more printable patterns, and you can watch it right here: ua-cam.com/video/QpBB7nebtKQ/v-deo.html
What kind of tape did you use for the garland accent?? I can't find tape to accent anywhere!
Happy Christmas!
instablaster...
Who else is watching this in October 2019 can't wait too see this years decorations.
Elizabeth Pickles But she probably won’t since her last uploaded video was almost a year ago 😳
I’m decorating our house for Christmas next weekend so i need ideas for my mini Harry Potter tree. I hope she uploads another one!
Meeee! This is legit adorable, esp. the flying car one, that's beyond funny. :)
MEEEEEEEE!!!
Lol I am!
I think the trunk with Hedwig on top is my favorite ornament.
Isn't it cute? I love that one too!
Same!!
The amount of work that went into this video is staggering and stunning!! Beyond amazed and in love with everything!
Thank you!!
I cant figure out how she’s not burning the ever-loving crap out of her fingers. She clearly touches fresh hot glue like 6 times. Thats some Savage hard core crafting
I thought the exact same thing!!! That stuff hurts! Lol
They make low-temp glue guns. I have one. It's hot but not dangerously so
I learned the magic of low heat glue guns after nearly searing the flesh off my hands during a late night session of making small hats for an event. Low heat glue guns are absolutely amazing, and super useful if you’re incredibly hands on like I tend to be. You have to work faster because it cools faster, but you can touch it directly to tuck it to where it needs to be on the craft or if I need to flatten it to better conceal it.

That one finger may be burnt, but if you try to remove it while it’s still fluid it’ll get everywhere, and could lead to more burns.
After the first two or three burns you either develop a technique or a callus, hahaha
No it doesn't. It'll be cool down in a few seconds; I love hot glue, because it works perfect for every DIYs.🤣 You have to use a low temperature one.
I love them all, the only thing I would change woild be to make the house colors adhere to the books. So bronze for Ravenclaw
As a Ravenclaw, I would have appreciate it. When recreating, I’ll definitely change it.
@@kg0704 i am a Ravenclaw as well.
I love the books! Now I want to make a little book tree, like, of general books, not just Harry Potter, and keep it up all year round lol. Happy Christmas!
That's a great idea!
That's what I like the most 💓
Happy Christmas
