This is my marathon shoe! I wanted the Endorphin Pro 3 to be my marathon shoe, but after a 20 mile run in them my feet were in so much pain. And the Superblast 2 has been my favorite shoe to run in through training so they are coming to the marathon with me!
Great choice! I think the Superblast 2 is the perfect non-carbon plated alternative to the Super-shoes. The stiffness of the plated shoes does not work for everyone for sure. Glad it's working for you, and good luck in your next marathon!
I experiencing the same with Endorphin Pro 3 even with half size up I feel sharp pain center area of my foot for some reason during 20KM. Will try Superblast 2 soon.
Thank you! I've been on the fence about trying these out. I love Asics shoes and have been wearing them for 20 years. Sounds like my orthotics won't be an issue. Thanks OMV!
Great review and spot on , ive run my pb in the first race i ran these in , also just curious with such a high score what is the highest score youve ever given and what shoe was it ? Be great if you could do a video of your all time top 5 shoes ! Cheers and thanks !
Thanks! Congrats on your PB!....As for your question, I believe the highest score I gave was for the Saucony Tempus at 9.75/10. At the time, there was no better of a "Stability" training shoe that was versatile enough to race in along with every other type of run....I'll definitely consider your suggestion for a future video!
Thanks for the question! I wasn't planning on doing the Novablast 4 as it's a neutral shoe, and I have some pronation issues. Although the SB 2 is also technically neutral, it's built with some stability elements that make it in reality a very stable neutral shoe that mild to moderate pronators can wear. I'll do a little more research on the NB 4 before totally ruling it out.
I appreciate your input. I have pronation issues as well, not severe, but still there. I hoped that the Novablast was similar to the SUPERBLAST as far as being stable neutral, but at a lower price point. I run in the Glycerin GTS 20 for daily miles, but want something a little “faster” for tempo and 5k/10k racing. I’m not quite fast enough to warrant a super shoe for racing at this point!
@@jviers77 I've read that the NB 4 has some inherent stability in the mid and forefoot, but less so in the heel. It may be worth trying them on if you can along side the Superblast. I may give them a look.
@@howardkcheng Thanks!...It does feel like it has slightly more arch support than version 1. It's not a massive change, but I find it more comfortable in that respect.
Awesome review. Do you think Superblast 2 is suitable for wide feet? I am using Saucony Tempus for recovery and is great. While Endorphin Pro 3 for race day but it creating sharp pain center of the right foot. Please advise. Thank you.
Thanks so much!.....As for your question, the Superblast 2 is more accommodating than the Tempus for wide feet and definitely more than the Endorphin Pro 3. I am easily able to wear the Superblast 2 in my normal size and width, but had to size up 1/2 in the Pro 3.
What are your thoughts on the release of the Brooks Glycerin Max ? I have three pairs of the Glycerin 20's which are an awesome shoe. I was hesitant to go with the 21's
Thanks for the question!....I'm intrigued and waiting to see if they add a GTS version as I'm a stability runner. That being said, I liked the 20s better than the 21s primarily due to the midsole feeling firmer in the 21. I'm wondering if the additional midsole stack will soften the feel a bit. I do plan to purchase and review a GTS version if Brooks releases one.
@SA-rx2ms Actually, I would recommend both in a shoe rotation. I wear the Gel-Kayano 31 on easy and recovery days and the Superblast 2 on uptempo long runs. If I could only afford one shoe, it would be the Superblast 2.
@@oldmanvanrunning Thanks for the response. I usually run in saucony triumphs so I’m looking forward to making the switch to the kayano since they have the Color I need for work.

Hey awesome review Will! Say, is that the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon shirt you got on? - Ramon
Hey Ramon! Yes!...Did it virtually during Covid, but strongly considering running it in-person next Spring!
Great video - I have both versions. Did over 400 miles in the original. I am hoping I do the same in the 2nd version
Thanks, Mark!...I don't think you will have a problem getting comparable life out of version 2, especially because of the more durable outsole.
Any chance you’re going to review the Novablast 4? You seem to have similar shoe needs as me, so I’m curious your thoughts on them!

Sounds like it’s time for a trip to my local Fleet Feet! Although they’re out of the SB, as are so many stores!

Hey OMV, have you gotten the Tempus 2 yet? If so, would you consider making a video?

True to size?
Absolutely 👍
