Interestingly, Newell Falls is just below Dorrigo where it rains 44 gallon drums, normally, not just raining buckets. You have come at a bad time as there is drought all along the coast and well inland too. I have lived in the area for 38 years and have never seen so many trees die from drought as is happening this time. Back to Newell Falls, Under normal rain events those waterfalls cut the Waterfall Way in several places. I heard a bloke refer to Dorrigo as "The Devils Piss Pot" He used to Live there. Check out Apsley Falls on the Oxley Highway 20K east of Walcha NSW. Walcha is east of Bendemere Cheers.

I have a 240 litre 3 way fridge in my 2010 van which wrecked my two deep cycle batteries in two years. I disconnected the fridge from the batteries and put in a DC / DC charger for the batteries and the second set lasted ten years. When I checked the voltage from the alternator, which should be more than 13.2 volts, it was only 11.5 volts on load so the fridge was draining the batteries while I was driving and a lead acid battery is flat at that voltage. The leads from your alternator need to be the highest gauge you can fit into the Anderson Plug terminals so that the voltage drop is minimised.

The fridge in my van is the tropical version but I find that it stays nice and cold between stops so long as I do not open the fridge door unless I really need to. I put it on gas when I stop for lunch and again when I stop for the night. I never run it on 12 volts as that is the quickest way to flatten a battery in my experience. Just a suggestion, hope it is of some help.
