Joining us on this week's I'm LIVE is the "commercial indie" band ADOY! To many, the adjective "commercial indie" would sound odd. However, it actually speaks to the band's philosophy as musicians. All the members knew the reality of indie band life. They knew they could only become sustainable when they were able to strike a balance between being artistic and commercial. Therefore, they maintain the same “commercial indie” sound that the band goes for, but also adds a smooth, lazy tone to create their iconic sound, and the band's latest release, which is also their first full-length album, "VIVID" is the execution of their intent to bridge the gap between commercial and indie.
Thanks to their signature appeal, the band managed to captivate both indie music lovers and mainstream listeners, having topped the K-Indie chart with every album the group has released since their debut in 2017, and take part in various festivals both at home and abroad.
In this episode, ADOY performs "San Francisco," "Wonder," "Grace," and "Don't Stop," as well as "Lemon" and "Pool" from their latest release.

가수와 관객의 거리 단 '1m', 손닿을 듯 가깝고 생생한 음악을 선물하는 도심 속 라이브 콘서트 I'm Live. 실력 있는 뮤지션들과 공연을 사랑하는 관객들의 사랑을 한 몸에 받고 있는 [I'm Live] 135회의 주인공은 밴드 아도이다.
아도이는 인디 뮤지션으로서의 독립성과 대중적인 어필, 상반된 두 방향 모두를 지향하는 ‘커머셜 인디’ 밴드다. 각자의 밴드 활동을 마치고 ‘ADOY’라는 이름으로 다시금 출발한 이 밴드는 2017년 두 장의 미니 앨범을 발표하며 인디씬에 잔잔한 파동을 불러 일으켰다. 인디차트 1위, 한국 대중음악상 노미네이트는 물론 ‘인싸 밴드’, ‘현재 가장 트렌디한 밴드’라고 불리며 크고 작은 공연장에서 매진을 이어가고 있는 이들은 수많은 기획사의 러브콜을 고사하며 그들이 꿈꾸던 ‘커머셜 인디’의 목표를 차근차근 달성해 나가고 있다. 또한 홍콩, 태국, 베트남, 대만, 싱가폴 등 아시아 투어를 성료하며 국내는 물론 해외에서도 탄탄한 팬덤을 구축한 이들은 ‘영어로만 이루어진 가사’라는 특징을 통해 더 넓은 해외 시장으로 뻗어나가고 있다.
아도이의 I'm Live 공연은 특유의 몽환적이고 풍성한 사운드로 가득한 ‘San Francisco’, ‘Wonder’, ‘Grace’, 저절로 몸을 움직이게 만드는 에너지가 매력적인 ‘Don't Stop’, 그리고 작년 가을 발표한 정규 앨범 VIVID의 선공개곡 ‘Pool’과 ‘Lemon’까지 눈과 귀를 사로잡는 곡들로 구성됐다.
