Despite Daft Punk retiring, its a relief to know its not because they passed away or anything bad, something that seems to be rare these days with how flipped the world is right now.
They split up for one simple reason they weren’t that interested in making music anymore but they might come back who knows maybe for “one more time” for tron 3
I remember how the mood in the concert just had a sudden and profound change when this song got to 2:00 , even the whole visual display just went dark for a second and built back up from nothing. The experience was unforgettable. That was only from watching a video of it.
I can tell you it was even BETTER live, i got to see them at the Perth, Western AUS concert...got there 6 hours early though so by the time Daft Punk DID come on i well and truly buzzed from the booze they sold there.
I am going to miss these guys, their split up made me very sad. Though they did leave behind an amazing discography of music, of which I am forever and I am sure many more will hold close to their hearts and remember forever. Thank you Daft Punk
I hold secret hopes of a return in the distant future, or maybe they pass on the torch to another production duo and keep 'Daft Punk' as an idea alive because holy shit I don't want it to be /over/ over.
nothing in life escapes this, and as there is no escape, there is no harm in that... think that at least you have plenty of great resources to remember that time ^^
What people forget is Daft Punk had many critics in the early 2000’s. Critics who thought they were washed up and their best days were behind them. Then Alive 2007 happened. Daft Punk showed they not only had that original flame of brilliance, but they could remix it into a damn God-Ray. In the following years they would collaborate or be featured in worldwide hit songs constantly. Their influence in music grew ten-fold. Then as if the critics weren’t BTFO hard enough, RAM was released, earning the Grammy for best album. Not just best Dance/Electronic album.... best fucking Album. Lol
John Russel Tatel exactly. Specifically LED lights, which at that time wasn't as mass produced as it is today. They were also one of the first DJs to have that kind of stage setup in a show/festival with huge LED displays and light shows, and every DJ since then has followed (just look up any festival show in the 2010s and you'll know what I mean). Goes to show how talented and innovative they are and massive their influence is
Daft Punk responds well to criticism, and this is pretty obvious since the origin of their name is a critic in a magazine calling them "Daft-punky trash."
I was at Lollapalooza in 2007 for their Alive tour. We were in the front row at the fence, just left of center stage. Had to camp in place for 5-6 hours to secure that spot but it was more than worth it. Shared a spliff just before the show started and were transported into the robot dimension for that glorious moment. Remains my best concert experience to date.
i know a lot of people find the people cheering annoying and want an official track of this but I really like hearing everyone enjoying themselves too :)
I was at Alive 2007 in LA and when I first heard that bass drop its like the entire building started bouncing up and down. Add to that the lights around the arena started lighting up and it was some crazy fever psycho party....absolutely the best song of one of the best concerts I have ever been to, maybe of all time.
This audio is so good! All of the Live 2007 - Official Audio tracks are great for this reason: you can hear the crowd, you can hear the reactions of the crowd, and you can hear Thomas and Guy-Manuel working the crowd. This is genuine live mixing. This is a performance art.
This is easily the greatest Daft Punk song ever. The way it continues at 4:40 is just incredible. Not going to lie I've done ungodly speeds in my car driving to this.
+Semih Gürel The more you listen to their remixes, as they may be official or not, the better you get the sense that your assertion might be inductively proven.
Only Daft Punk can take 2 of their most iconic songs... and turn it into something EVEN BETTER. It must have been such an epic night being at this concert.
I listen to this song almost daily while driving up to any of the farms i work on. "Our work is never over" I feel that so much, gives me strength. Thank you Daft Punk. Best remix.
By pure luck I got to see their show at Coachella in 2006. It was really an out of world experience. From the moment the first notes of Close Encounters hit I knew it was going to be a wild show. Then the pyramid started to light up and then the Robots came out. I had been a fan since Homework and it was hitting me fast that I was seeing these amazing artists in the States. Every year around Coachella time I'm reminded of that show and experience. The whole weekend was nuts. I traveled by myself and technically saw all of the sets by myself. I had never been to California in my adult life (was 20 at the time) and that weekend was one for the books. Keep in mind this was when Coachella was only one weekend and not as glamorized as it is now. Everyone I interacted with was super chill and friendly. I took a cat nap under a tent one afternoon and woke to the sounds of Matisyahu and was followed by Kanye West, I got a CD signed by Imogen Heap and took a pic with her, saw the legends Depeche Mode, Madonna, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Tool, and a bunch of up and coming bands. I walked down the Palm Desert highway in the middle of the night because the people I was staying with refused to let me drive the car to get food. Met someone on that highway that apparently just got out of jail. Made it to Carl's JR and had a mini feast. Incredible time that I'll never forget!
2:31 Somehow this is when I realised how masterful Alive 2007 is. How on earth do these 2 musics blend so well together ? It's so simple yet so impactful and the feeling of anticipation from here to the massive drop is insane !
DJ’s today Mix one song, add some effects here and there and transition to another after the first drop, repeat for an hour or two, maybe occasionally mash up two wav’s or play a unreleased song or live tool every now and then. Daft Punk Use their songs and mash up their stems and change their sounds a lot into something you'd never hear on the actual songs and play live tools often, all done throughout the whole concert live instead of done every now and then. This is why I believe Daft Punk do the greatest mixes out there.
I personally love Television / Crescendolls the most on this album. However, this song itself is what got me into Daft Punk in middle school, so of course I'll always love it.
This song celebrates humanity. We have seen all around the world, and make our ingenuity work harder so we can make it better and do it faster. Everything we create makes us stronger.
I think its cool how they design each of their track so that they can mix and remix easily with other tracks in their albums. They all have similar BPMs and the notes/chord progression are pretty much the same, but the effectiveness of the song is still there.

The only live show i've seen of them and immidiatly the only one where literally everyone from the main hall till the stalls outside where their music could reach was all dancing. Daft Punk was magical, this concert has allways been magical, and I sure as hell never forget to play it at least a few times a year. This song alone.... The amount of dancing and screaming people will never leave my sights. Thanks Daft Punk.... I'll miss u guys
Fans : What are Daft Punk gonna do now? Daft Punk : Even we don't know. Fans : Really? Daft Punk : Lol no. Why don't we just mashup our best songs and make the the best album in history?
This has literally been my favourite DJ / Band / Group / Whatever since I first started listening to music. Since I was way young, people called me "One More Time" - I did not hide it, my love for these two beautiful French geniuses. My god, if this is not amazing I seriously do not know what is. Don't even know what time this is me listening since I've first found it but this still gives me the chills!
I was 11 when my dad passed away, at that age I didn’t even knew who I was. I was so disconnected from everything, but my English teacher introduced me into the “Electro, house etc” music and by far Daft Punk were my favorite. In such a hard times I felt joy listening to them. Thank you so much for every masterpiece.
Y'know... People hate the cheering in the background but I like it since at some times I can hear them *singing along to the music* and it gives a nice lil' spark in my heart. also daft punk I love you and I hate you for not doing alive 2017 ;o; but if you do an alive 2027 i'll be one hell of a happy man
I start singing along to around the world, and then I realize that there’s people singing with the song. I’m singing with them, we’re singing with each other. I just started tearing up

At least we got hear their music
The only live show i've seen of them and immidiatly the only one where literally everyone from the main hall till the stalls outside where their music could reach was all dancing. Daft Punk was magical, this concert has allways been magical, and I sure as hell never forget to play it at least a few times a year. This song alone.... The amount of dancing and screaming people will never leave my sights. Thanks Daft Punk.... I'll miss u guys
Modern DJ: No! You can't just change up all your songs and expect everyone to like it!

This is gorgeous❤️ come back please 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I was at their final concert 16 years ago when they released this remix in Miami. One of the best performances!
Y'know... People hate the cheering in the background but I like it since at some times I can hear them *singing along to the music* and it gives a nice lil' spark in my heart.
