your travel insurance should pay for the extra nights in the hotel food and that, its also down to the airline to pay for everything. If it was a package , flight and hotel again it would be down to the company you booked with.
Similar happened to my son his travel insurance payed for everything and any extras like food and he also got money from the airline but they actually took weeks to pay out. He said their were people who actually had no travel insurance and no money to spare which many people wouldn't at the end of a holiday and they were stuck in the airport for 3 nights. Anyone who had the sense to have travel insurance got sent money / payed out right away or arrange with hotels to pay them derict. We always just pay for a years travel insurance it's cheaper especially if you travel more than once a year.

Ahh thank you for the advice! We were questioning it because of the clauses about insurers not paying out due to “extreme weather” as they’re not responsible. But we shall see!

Always pack extra pants because you never know as i say for a weekend away you need pair for day time pair for night time 3 extras for time of month and 20 extra pairs incase you shit yourself even though you havent shit yourself since you were a kid but you never know 😂

Oh my gosh, I was flying back from Mallorca on the 31st as well✨... and I almost cried with Em about her bun incident...I had a Derek in my room in Spain and screamed so bad... they're massive, it's a new level of Eeww... me and my roomie caught it in a plastic cup and threw the Derek cup out onto the street...looked like a scene from a movie really coz our Derek flew out of the cup whilst still in the air🙈😂 in hindsight it was insanely funny really. glad you made the most of your prolonged vacation though.💕✨

Your airline should pay you 200 euros each for each day you were delayed. It happened us last year and they were actually quite quick to pay, plus they covered our hotel & meals even though we had travel insurance, so we didn't need to claim on that x
