- Dramatised Army Instructional film in which soldiers of the Parachute Regiment demonstrate that any apparently innocent item or vehicle may contain a terrorist bomb. The film shows the correct way to deal with an explosive device, staying well away, clearing the area of all civilians and military personnel and reporting to higher authority.

Cheesy but deadly serious for the lads then in NI.
Rype Village in Lydd. The most dangerous place in NI.
Remember seeing this before my first tour
Thanks for sharing this and your other videos - you're putting up some great stuff, historically really interesting.
Glad you like them! lots to come so stay tunes :)
Sennelager for me everything seemed to go
Bang.
But best training ever.
Got you in a mindset.
In '76 my dad was on tour in NI with 3 Para, one thing about this that would drive him mad is the flak jackets. Paras didn't wear them over the top of their Denison smock! They wore it underneath because the pattern was recognisable and they wanted to stand out and be known that it was Paras in the area. Although I'd imagine that while filming this, they were politely told that over the top of the smock was the correct way to wear a flak jacket and didn't have a choice
So true came close to a few ieds...thanks for sharing
I'm suspicious, why do all the civvies look like squaddies in drag? Moustaches and sideburns
They probably are! definitely not bootnecks, they'd be naked 😂
@@Hants_Prints for NI training they'd get jock regiments tanked up before acting as rioters, squaddies would get a kicking if they fell into their hands. Occàonally the drunk jocks would win the riot lol
They probably are 😂😂
Out of line of site tape off and fuck off 😂😂😂
In the 60's and 70's that was the fashion.
Most well behaved Paras ever.....
Watched this when it 1st came out
Jesus I haven't seen this since my deployment 😂
Nitat lydd kent, my home for 4 years as a instructor,
Deadly place to be, in the village,
You had to be didturbed to work there,
Good Times
Should have read disturbed
Loved Rype village
NI really was the UK's Vietnam.
Who is the narrator? Im sure I know the voice, but for the life of me I can't recall who it is.
Still feel it today. Second nature while there. VERY hard to shake off and still like my back against a wall so I can see what's coming.
That's tough, being on guard constantly is tiring, hope you manage to switch off at some point
(In that cheesy voice-over accent)
"If you see a known terrorist placing a suspicious object, don't arrest him, because he is just 'out getting a bag of chips for his grannie'. If the object explodes, killing and maiming innocent people, remember: no one is more innocent than the bomber. Especially since he rejects 'British' laws. Until, of course, he can win his appeal of conviction, then the laws are just."
Longmoor?
@@ManofKent2495 Could be. It's a long time since I was at either of them.
Thanks to all british forces ❤
Bring the boys home.
Ats my house er!
Can you imagine what would have happened to that driver in the States??? He wouldn't be walking around with one of Blair's "safe conducts" ib his pocket!
Australia has garden gnomes.
What is he doing in someone's backyard?
Looking for Republican gnomes.
Virtually all the 'civilians' have short hair - I suspect they're squaddies & the women are W.R.A.C's.
You might be right. And that film was made in Kent.
Just go home and that’s That .
No problems . Or stay if you like
And who might that comment be addressed to, Mr farrell?
That's what the people of Gibraltar wanted.
