y'all gotta understand that hisoka is actually legitimately insane. He enjoys fights like one would enjoy a sexual experience. And the more they can injure him, the more pleasurable it is for him. His greatest enjoyment comes from taking everything an opponent can throw at him, while methodically breaking down their strategies and techniques, then finally watching their faces when he breaks them (both physically and mentally). Thats why guys like gon, kastro and the examiner with the knives in the first arc were able to harm him at all. If he had went all out from the start with the intent to kill them, none of these guys save for maybe kastro would be able to touch him. It's honestly twisted and disgusting if you really think about it, but also badass af in a special way LOL. That's why he's my absolute favourite character in the series. Like machi said, he genuinely has absolute belief that he is the strongest.

I think one thing that might be tripping you guys up is the use of Gyo. Just because theyre focusing their aura to their eyes, doesnt mean theyre comepletely defenseless. They just sent the majority of it to their eyes but theres still a layer of Ten supporting their body. Youll understand more of what I mean in the next few arcs 👍👍
Idk, I also really like the one after as well, focuses more on the fundamentals. Though the one after that has the most unique abilities, pushing what Nen could really do. And I think thats whats so great about hxh, each arc explores the power system in a completely new way.

It was just a quick cameo added in as a little easter egg. In the 1999 version of HxH instead of a Prince Baka cameo, we get Togashi, the creator of HxH, himself as a cameo (or at least his dog mascot persona thing). It's a pretty cool cameo, but don't let this distract you from the fact that bungee gum has the properties of rubber and gum
The whole reason they were in Heaven's Arena in the first place was because Gon needed to train to have a shot at punching Hisoka and giving back his tag. They briefly shifted the goal to reaching the top floor, but that quickly faded away after they discovered there was no reward for that aside from a cool penthouse. Once Gon fought Hisoka and gave him back his tag, there was no point to stay.
They actually wanted to go to the top floor cause they discover nen. Their goal was to reach floor 190 and then leave but they stayed to learn more about nen.
Ngl, there's a joy in being able to see the reactions of the boys as they witness these scenes for the first time. I find myself looking at their faces more than the scenes in the little box below
I remember watching Dead Man wonderland was in middle school, The one time my whole family is sitting in the living room and actually paying attention to what's going on. To win that one girl tricked the main character and was getting off during the fight. I didn't exactly understand what was going on but I knew that my mom was super upset with me for watching it.

Remember when Hisoka said enhancers and transmuters are compatible? Gon (enhancer) and Killua (transmuter) have a very strong bond. There is an obvious underlying message Togashi wanted to relay about Gon and Killua's relationship. However you interpret that, just know that they share a bond that goes beyond a simple friendship.

i have a theory about the spreading of information throughtout the show. They cleverly hided nen in the first 20 episodes or so because they want you to focus on the characters as people and not as "this guy is x power e this other guy is y", making them seem real , each with they personality and reasons first , and their powers (strictly correleted with personality, so it makes sense to focus on that first), and then and only then their powers. Also i would like to make you notice how much L is taking gon, he literlly hasn't win a single fight by himself yet ( except for weaker enemies or if we count the snake cave incident).
I mean, it would make sense, but I think more realistically Togashi simply didn't have a developed nen system yet. Even in this arc and in the Yorknew one it's pretty clear Togashi still hadn't truly finished the whole battle system yet.

Also i would like to make you notice how much L is taking gon, he literlly hasn't win a single fight by himself yet ( except for weaker enemies or if we count the snake cave incident).
I mean, it would make sense, but I think more realistically Togashi simply didn't have a developed nen system yet. Even in this arc and in the Yorknew one it's pretty clear Togashi still hadn't truly finished the whole battle system yet.
