I hate to be the one to say this, but he has such a great husky voice and no matter how much I love DAY6, a lot of their songs don't showcase the real power and capacity of his vocal chords. He needs more rocky kinds of songs like I wait, Stop the Rain or If I see you again. Sometimes the pop sound they produce (probably unwillingly) lets his voice seem underwhelming. He sings everything quite well but deserveS more than just that, he shines in songs where his powerful voice really gets exposed. Take Shoot Me for example, it's a great song but lacks exactly that power of his. Maybe it's just me, anyways, love his voice so there's that.
I agree! I always thought their korean songs really waste Sungjin's and YoungK power vocal. His and youngk's voice is made for rock genre and sadly the pop influence in their korean songs concealed their voices from the world. It's still good, though, but I need more tracks like I Need Somebody and their whole Japanese singles, dang those boys hit it soooo good.
i love pop punk, and since the first time i heard his voice i was like "he would have the spotlight if he's in pop punk band" but im still grateful there's somehow, how can i say, congratulations, and beautiful feeling. he's so underrated omg he deserves so much
