Man, I got a DNX6980 that i can’t get it to update. I got the software update from Kenwood and got it on a thumb.. for some reason I’m at 1.2 on the updates and theres an 1.9 update. But the problem is that my stereo will not highlight the update button. Any thoughts on that? Thank in advance
Hey sorry for the delayed response, as far as I remember if your thumb drive is not empty when you transfer the software in it will not work. maybe start with that if you haven't got it to work. I remember running into the issue when I did mine.
Question: I was tracking with you up until the point where I had to plug my USB in. When I plugged my drive in, my unit never recognized that there was a drive plugged into it. Is this a port issue?

@@MyDIY2HowTo no errors it plays fine but i have 750 more songs that its not detecting..i noticed that i keep hearing the same songs everyday and see theres only 255 when i press the name of the song and it shows track number and total tracks available 025/255 im using the usb with sd card formatted at fat32

+TheJoker-MK if your model # is not listed then It will he a different link. But you if you go to Kenwood website enter your model # and it will give you a different link for the driver matching your model. In most cases it will be a similar process . Hope that helps
Maybe you have to delete the other paired devices. Last I checked you can only pair 5 devices. Also if other paired devices are around it creates a conflict when connecting. Let me know if it helps or figure it out.
Why do you have the title listed as a 6690 when you are showing a 6990 ? There is no 6690 radio only a 6990 . Look at the bottom right corner of your radio and see what the number is . It should have 6990 .

If you can connect Bluetooth you should be able to stream, with my model I use it all the time to stream UA-cam music or any other source of streaming and no issues so far.

@@ksn1150 you put your memory card in the slot in the Radiohead and it imprints the map data to that. You then bring it into the house and download Garmin Connect, and then insert the memory card into the computer and then it brings up your map options through Garmin.

Possible.. have you tried using a different usb just to rule out the usb card first?
Also if its freshly emptied, no other software or files in the card when you insert the card.

Yes, you should be able to just highlight it and delete it.
It takes forever (a few minutes) but eventually you will be able to select them one at a time and delete them.

How do you play music through the Bluetooth?
You need to pair your phone, you can access by the Bluetooth app on the stereo.

Yeah, 70 bucks a crack. No lifetime map update package either. So, pick your map update time wisely.

Format to USB drive to FAT32 - maybe this is the issue?
