Wish I had seen this earlier. Bought an S100 from Lowe’s May 2024. Registered it and saw it was a 2023. Fuel line and carburetor clogged after just 6 hours of use, 2 1/2 months later (I only use ethanol free gas with 1 ounce of Stabil per five gallons). Lowe’s said it’s not their problem, I should have bought the extended warranty. Local Deere dealer says Lowe’s puts gas in them to move them, then they sit for months to years on the lot. On top of that they’re telling me the warranty doesn’t cover fuel issues, so it’s almost $500 to repair. I will warn everybody I can reach to never buy a lawnmower from Lowe’s. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
Everyone saying john Deere john Deere ya know is buying from the dealer not Lowe's big difference in the quality of the tractors even though they say john deere
I understand that but they still put there name on it and the engine is a Kawasaki but has Briggs parts on it. I mostly think now it’s failure was due to the 30 second oil change filter and I’ll make a video explaining why.

I hate to hear you’re going through this. As other stated the John Deere brand you buy at Lowe’s is not the same as what you buy at actual John Deere dealerships. That being said you make an excellent point. John Deere puts their name on it regardless so the quality should meet the specs as the ones you purchase from the dealerships. Hope you get everything straightened out with it.
Thank you! Yes JD and Kawasaki both have their names on it! I thought since it was a JD it was a JD because other mowers like MTD and Craftsman look very similar just different colors but this E180 is larger in size! But I have people telling me it’s a JD and others telling me it’s not so confusing lol
Anyone can debate if it’s the same JD at Lowe’s as you would buy at a JD dealership but regardless of that argument it’s a JD because they put their name on it. From watching your videos I know you’re a smart guy. I know you’ll get it worked out one way or another
Thank you again! Yea I really did like the machine so I will probably end up going with the B&S Professional 25hp as a replacement instead of the factory replaced with that filter. Glad to see someone else agrees!
No updates other then I sold the JD mower for parts and bought a Spartan zero turn. It has the same engine without the 30 second oil change so I’ll find out how long it lasts lol
No way each to their own but no comparison the paint is off them Lowe's john Deere alone in 3 to 4 years very more high quality parts with the ones from the dealers ..I've had john Deere from the dealer with gas engines with over 2,000 hours and still going
@@dannyrench7602 ive been repairing mowers for 30 years they all use the same components hydra gear transmissions are used on every mower made mtd builds the rest

Only JD I would own is an older one 300,400 series. I’ve had wheel horse’s all my life and would never buy a box store MTD with green paint on it
