      Thanks for the comment! It actually really doesn't matter since we are setting the timing with clicks during the Record Slide Show.

    Great Video, Lon! Every video of yours I watch, I pick up at least one and usually more tips on how to use Camtasia. THANKS for that! I can see now I need to do a lot of work to develop my PowerPoint skills, to put together some much more effective elements than we can do in Camtasia itself, or at least much easier to build.
    At first I was confused, thinking Wait!? I thought you lost the PP animations when you dragged into Camtasia? But then I went back and realized I had missed (was probably thinking of something else at the time) where you exported the slideshow as a video. Good to know Camtasia will accept WMV format!
    My biggest challenge these days is to STOP WATCHING these marvelous how-to videos and START PRODUCING more of my own! (Grin!)
    Thanks for all your contributions to the community.

    Question for Lon! I signed up for PresenterMedia and noticed they have a product called SlideClip Video Maker
    . I'm comfortable with PowerPoint and Camtasia. Do you feel it is helpful to learn SlideClip also?

    • @LonNaylor
      @LonNaylor  4 роки тому

      Hi Bill. The SlideClip interfaced is getting better. It is certainly worth at least a quick play-around to see if it creates clips you can use either standalone or import into Camtasia. It's pretty straightforward. Thanks for the question!

    Hi,
    I wonder if I can ask you a Camtasia/Powerpoint related question
    My Camtasia Add-in for Powerpoint suddenly stopped recording slides (video)
    I can record my camera image record the audio, but my slides are not getting recorded. FYI, when I used to hit the record button, a pop up used to come up telling me how to pause and stop the recording ... that stopped popping up as well
    Cheers!

      It's really difficult to troubleshoot such a problem because of the large number of variables (software, system, configurations, etc.). For things like this (where the Camtasia software does not act as it should), I suggest putting in a Support ticket with TechSmith: support.techsmith.com

    Thanks for this video. I tried this and it worked except for the glitch in the beginning of the video. Before the 1st slide appears. The PPT has no glitches, but I have added an audio file (music). Converted video has a glitch only in the beginning. Why is it happening & how to fix it? Please help.

    Maybe a stupid question but why go through all this vs. just recording the narration in PPT as you move through the slides?

    • @LonNaylor
      @LonNaylor  6 років тому +2

      Hi Tricia. Not a stupid question at all! It basically boils down to a matter of mistakes. Speaking and clicking as you record leads to fumbles that need to be re-recorded or edited. This method removes mistakes from the equation. I usually only use this when I want/need a perfect video as the end result. It's actually much faster in my experience. Thanks for the comment!

      @@triciasteege9726 Sure thing. As with any method or technique, you might try both with a short test lesson and see which works best for you.

    The most simple way to convert your powerpoint presentation in video with camtasia is running the presentation on second screen and record it with camtasia!
    All transiotions, all animations will be intact. Than montage your video in camtasia, add sound and save the video in hd or full hd format. Done!

    • @LonNaylor
      @LonNaylor  5 років тому

      That's one way, sure. You can also just Record Slideshow right in PowerPoint and Export Video. Both of those methods are prone to mistakes in narration and/or recording. This video is about using the new ability to import slides into Camtasia and a way to eliminate those mistakes from the mix.

    Why not just run the slideshow in pp and capture the screen in Camtasia? It’s what I do, but I use Screenflow and Premiere CC. Just does a better job... Thanks anyway...
