I love the last thing as well. Using your gift as a photographer just like you would as a drummer... your camera IS your instrument...and yes as I walk around from one side to the other side of the sanctuary, I'm singing.
I was asked to start photographing services at my church recently.. I didn't do much research on it going in (I've had a very small photography business for a few years, I didn't think this would be much different, LOL)... I've been at this church for 6 years now and I've never felt so uncomfortable! I felt like I was totally invading peoples special times... I'm now doing lots of research before I go back for my second week of church photography & I'm SO GLAD I found this video.. Great tips!!
@@jesussaldana1973 much better! I’ve kind of taken breaks occasionally and just been a member but will always get back into it. I don’t feel embarrassed anymore about doing it- I see it as part of my own worship 🥰
Thanks Techy Tim, so glad you found this information helpful! Hopefully this can help you and your team develop a great system for taking photos at your church!
I’m going to take photos during an actual service for the very first time this Sunday. Kinda funny it’s taken so long since I’m the most experienced with any kind of camera work at my small church. So I made sure to come back to this video and try and learn as much as I can. A lot of the things you mention are probably easier said than done but I’m sure they’ll be a great help! =) Being invisible and remembering my role is subordinate to what’s going on in a service is a challenge for me. So it’s great to be reminded of these things. Thank you guys for what you do. Seriously.
This is gold. I do Security at my church and sometimes it's hard to photograph at the same time. Great tips here. Please more info on the church photography.
Why? Why is this a thing now? I went to a church recently and I was praying and when I opened my eyes I saw a camera right in my face. Made me not want to go back. Why take pictures of people at church? Thanks for any info.
Wow this is very educational But then my problem is that, my church is not having a camera so I use an iPhone in taking the photos and this makes its very difficult for in capturing natural poses because I would have to move closer to get that bleary background that the iPhone gives and this happens when the person being capture realizes he or she is being captured So then what do I need to do?

100% agreement guys! Especially the end on worshipping while you work.
Very practical, and I appreciate the heart behind keep the "why you're there in the first place" in the forefront.
