    Great review. Made it tougher for me to choose now, haha. I make music videos, social media content, and occasional photograghs. Im currently using a ZVE10, and I need to upgrade to something better/not too expensive asap.
    I have shortlisted the a6700, a7cii & fx30, (has to be sony as I've got like 4 sony e lenses).
    I have a lot of low light work and am confused, which would be best for me.
    The Ac7ii price is probably the most im willing to spend. Just wanted your opinion.

    • @ParadiseBizz
      @ParadiseBizz  3 місяці тому

      Firstly I would out rule that FX30 because of the missing viewfinder. When you have to get something manually in focus or want to double check in a bright environment, you want a viewfinder. The better out-of-focus background, longer recording times, better low light performance and the capability to switch to Super35 mode all point towards the A7C II
      I never regretted this purchase

    Beware of the overheating tests, they are not consistent. I bought the Sirui A6700 cage and you screw the cage to the camera strap holes on the body. I'm getting the ZV-E1. It's hard to pick between the A6700 and A7C II but for me it was the grip, the 120fps I probably won't use, and the smaller size. For me I needed a dedicated green screen camera, and the A6700 won't overheat when recording externally. What you pick between ZV-E1 and A6700 or A7C II? That is a hard one.

    • @ParadiseBizz
      @ParadiseBizz  3 місяці тому +1

      I made some overheat tests myself and I found that the A7C II gives you slightly longer recording times. BUT I love the more saddle grip of the a6700, and same as you, the 120 fps that I also never use LOL 😅

      @@ParadiseBizz From what I gather the overheating in the A6700 is partially a bug. People have reported that the camera overheats when not recording. Lets hope that v1.03 firmware fixed that. The A6700 and A7C II have pretty much the same body and chipset, so overheating should be about the same.

    • @ParadiseBizz
      @ParadiseBizz  2 місяці тому +1

      @@CaleMcCollough I own both cameras, the a6700 and the A7C II and I can tell from experience although they are very similar in size, the A7C II allows a bit longer recording times before overheating.

    Q1. Can we make digital zoom on sony a6700 or on a7cii at 120fps or at 240fps for FHD or 4k for batter wildlife telephoto reach to shoot slow-mo? (Any of these combination, after turn on digital zoom in settings)
    Q2. Can you confirm If we set photo shoot resolution to a lower megapixel resolution from the highest resolution settings available, dose it downsample from the full sensor or it's just skip pixels to make a lower resolution photo?

    • @ParadiseBizz
      @ParadiseBizz  16 днів тому

      Good morning. The a6700 allows 4K up to 120 but you can't crop into the sensor of this camera. You can operate the Sony A7C II in Super35 mode, that gives you an APS-C crop (1.5 x)
      in which only the center portion of the sensor will be used. Unfortunately the A7C II can not record 120 fps in 4K - only in 1080p. And this pretty much answers your Q2, you get lower MP when cropping in. It goes from 33MP down to 14MP

    Thank you for your very nicely organized video. I actually have both cameras as well but also own several full size full frame Sony bodies so these are for travel mainly for me. Also I don’t shoot video so I’m discounting those advantages/disadvantages. You did not mention the fact that the A6700 has a full two curtain mechanical shutter while the A7CII only has a one curtain shutter so EFCS is the only mechanical option. This does appear to matter to some photographers. For me I’m not sure yet. Also if choosing your lenses carefully you can support both small and larger lenses on the A7CII giving you flexibility to optimize your kit for both size/weight and fast speed. So I’m leaning toward the great 33 Mpixel sensor and the CII. Take care.

      Hello Steven, you're right, I did not cover everything. There were a few things missing on either of both cameras. I was truly focusing on what was important for me, a hybrid shooter. Thanks for taking the time to write me, I ended up not selling the a6700 - well I kept the a7C II for myself, and I gave the a6700 to my (very happy) son

  • @Mandelrot

    A camera body is just a part of the gear you need to make photos and videos: you need also lenses to make your "creation pack". Since the full frame lenses are way more expensive (comparing same quality levels) and bigger/heavier than the APS-C ones, here is what you have in the end:
    - Either you pay double the price to have your A7CII pack,
    - Or you pay a more similar price (still more expensive but let's forget that for a moment) but then with the A7CII you don't have a 33 mpx sensor, but a cropped 14 Mpx sensor.
    So at a similar price I think the a700 smashes, but the A7CII gives you the option to jump to a higher level in the future (if you want to pay for it).

    Thanks for this video, I have yet to decide between these 2 models. A small thing: in super 35 mode the a7c ii has only about 14 mpix, because you must divide 33 mpix not by 2 but by 1.5 x1.5 = 2.25.

    Great review. I can do with most cameras when working with my humble production in my small channels, but overheating is the dealbreaker for me in most cases. Would be nice to learn what you really recommend when filming 4K with external power and HDMI for a few hours.

    • @ParadiseBizz
      @ParadiseBizz  2 місяці тому

      If I would need to shoot 4K30 for a long time I would recommend to set it to XAVC S mode. It still depends very much on the temperature in your environment.
      You could seriously extend the recording time by adding a cooling fan to the back amzn.to/4cra9i9 - if you do that make sure to have the microphone NOT attached to your camera body. That should give you hours of filming.
      I love Sony and I keep my a6700 and my A7C II. I use them for traveling and fun. But to film my channel videos including b-roll, I am using a Panasonic Lumix GH6 with a Leica 12-60mm.
      I can shoot Open Gate 5.8K 30 fps for hours without overheating. The larger image allows me to resize and reframe the image to my needs in post production. I love it.
      2022 when the GH6 came out, I was waiting for Black Friday and I got my super deal: ua-cam.com/video/afNZVSxSqUM/v-deo.html
      Now the GH7 came out with a much better AF, and again I am waiting for Black Friday.

    • @ParadiseBizz
      @ParadiseBizz  8 місяців тому +2

      I think as soon as you get close to your viewfinder it blacks out the display, so no activation there. You would use the center wheel similar to a joystick, that's not a problem.
      Even easier if you're shooting people or anything that is in the SUBJECT menu. The AF is so good that you can leave it on wide, the camera does the rest and always finds it's mark.

    Thank you for this very straightforward, concise comparison. I am not a professional photographer, but I am a quite avid amateur, especially now after the birth of my daughter (first child). Needless to say, I've been going bananas shooting with my Sony A6000/18-105 G lens combo, but I am very disappointed with how often the focus is pulled from her eyes/face by other objects while she's moving around, which is the style of photography and video I'm doing. So for me, a camera with the very latest Sony Bionz chip, and that killer autofocus is de riguer. It have come down to the question of whether I want to jump to full frame from APS-C, but I am aware of the much larger expense of full frame lenses, so I would probably only be buying one or two, probably zoom lenses if I need to. The A7C II and A6700 have this outstanding Bionz chip for autofocus and the other advantages, and they are both virtually identical in size and weight. Since I don't really need or care about 4K 120fps, in fact, I'm almost certainly going to film in 4K 24 or 30 fps, the video limitations of the A7C II don't bother me at all. Also, since I can use my current APS-C Sony 18-105mm G lens in APS-C mode on the A7C II, it can buy me a bit of time until I can get my first FF lens for it, and it opens the door to the world of FF lenses for the coming years. I just have to think about whether paying an extra $1,000 Canadian for the potential of a FF camera is really worth it. Since I think I will want to blow up some of my very best pics, especially panoramas, it may well be. Decisions, decisions!

    Interesting comparison. Very informative. I've been looking at both cameras as a possible upgrade from my current APS-C camera. I really don't care about video features, don't really shoot video except occasionally at family get-togethers. So from my perspective the two cameras are virtually identical in terms of features. The difference between 26 vs 33 megapixels isn't major, except that the latter would take up more room on my NAS. Creamier bokeh and better low-light performance sound appealing, though.
    So... What I'm really interested in is your opinion on the physical handling of each. I like that the a6700 has a bigger grip. It felt better in my hand at the store when I looked at it... But what's it like in long-term use compared to the a7c II? You mentioned going on vacation with the camera. Is there really a major difference between the two over the course of a day of shooting?
    So for me, it's going to come down to how the camera feels in the hand, as welll as the image quality.
    Oh... Cool cat.

      I used it for my Mexico trip. This year I am seriously considering traveling with this one instead: amzn.to/47be286 here is the video: ua-cam.com/video/R4jkygwYSwQ/v-deo.html

       @ParadiseBizz Awesome. Thanks for the tip about the Tamron zoom. I had overlooked that lens. The Sigma compact primes are great lenses too. I’m not yet confident enough to travel with primes alone though. For my use case, I like to use primes for walkabout street photography. But when I am traveling somewhere where I will not return and I only have one chance of getting the shot, I prefer the flexibility of a zoom. Maybe that will change in time. I see some photographers capturing beautiful travel images with just a 28mm and 50mm prime setup, so I know using only primes can work. Anyhow, I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.

      @@paullafleur6112 Thank you Paul. I totally understand you. I am not a fan of changing lenses while traveling. If you get dust or particle on your sensor, cleaning is not fun. This is why I chose the Tamron for my Mexico trip, because it has such a great range and it starts with f/2.8. The image quality is so much better than average zoom lenses offer. But I can see people traveling with only one or two fixed primes. After all, the world we see with our eyes is similar to 50mm. So I thought I can capture everything the way I see it. The disadvantage is clearly that I will miss out on things that are further away...

    Excellent video, I took the Sony A7R5, I didn't evaluate the Sony A7C II due to the lack of a Joystick instead of the almost useless AF-ON. Thank you. 👍

      If you map the AF-ON button to focus tracking, you won't miss the joystick.

      @@soholingo I was struggling with myself which one to buy. The A7C II can record 4K60 - but only in a 1.5 crop and the A7cr crops 4K60 to 1.2
      The A7cr has more MP, a little shorter recording times compared to the A7C II and also a slightly worse ISO performance. Everything ok for me, except the extra $800.
      I spent too much money this year for my channel

    You got 52 minutes while recording in 4k30, using only 50% of the battery and only 3 minutes of video left in the card. Not sure why this is an overheating issue. Look at 7:17

      You should watch the overheating video. I like to shoot 4K60, this is when the overheating kicks in extremely

      @@ParadiseBizz I agree 4k60 10bit causes the camera to over heat but 4k60 does that to most of the Sony in the a7cr body... also there is a fix for the overheating even at 4k 120, I use a fan and I run out of battery and space before I overheat.

    Hello from Frannce, I just discover your channel. great. I hesitate, only for the iso in lowlight. And the only advantage of A7CII is in 4K 24, because in 4K 60 it s the same result (may be better in A6700 because at this frame it s oversampled from 6K). sorry for my English.

      You're definitely right, when it comes to shooting of 4K60 (or higher) the Sony a6700 is a nice choice, as long as you can keep it cool.
      In regards to ISO, the full frame sensor of the A7C II will serve you well in low light. Hello from Florida to France

    I would like to know how long you can shoot with the Sony A7C II in full HD at a normal temperature before it overheats and turns itself off?

    • @ParadiseBizz

      I only shoot in 4K, and when I chose XAVC S 4K with 30 fps I would run out of memory before it overheats (studio temp. set to 74 Fahrenheit) I don't think you'd have an issue filming in 1080p
