I’m not complaining, I’d rather them make a better kit than try and buff calculator. Sephiroth is just so dang clunky and in a game that requires fast reactions he just feels like extra work to play on the same level as other characters. There’s a reason why he’s a starting 5 star.

I think it's interesting that the 5 star weapons are so far ahead that the battle pass weapon that looks like it has perfect synergy with Xiangli Yao seems to be just worse than the 5 star standard gauntlets which seemingly have no synergy with him.
and whenever he does the enhanced skill in liberation mode, he get swap cancel window so this make him feasible for normal rotation team or quickswap team
What makes him interesting is that he still has a banner. So people who like him, we can pull for his resonance chain level. You can also pull for his weapon. (Update: Which I luckily got) NGL... This is kind of smart. He may be a free character but kuro can still gain SOME earnings from people wanting the resonance chain and weapon.

I've pulled for his weapon and don't regret it. Also, loved the design and how the thrusters at the back light up and the gauntlet transforms during the combo
For those who don't know, the standard weapon being 16% less powerful than the signature means that the signature is 19% more powerful than the standard weapon (If IWTL had chosen Abyss surges as the baseline 100%, you would see 119% on Verity Handle)
I did not realize the electro mats were different between the two (they looked so similar I did not even notice the difference till now) so I slowly farmed Thundering since I figured that was likely his echo. Rip the wasted stamina on 30 of those mats :(
Xiangli yao and lee hyperreal have a similar is that when xiangli yao using his ult he slow down the enemy just like lee hyperreal when he used his matrix
Changli works pretty well as a teammate from what I've been playing so far. She buffs Liberation damage and works really well with quick swapping. It also really helps not having to build two electro sets in order to run Yinlin on the team and instead just use the same set and share it with Yinlin for another team (and then also with Calcharo on a third team if you want to use him still).
i see Xiangli Yao as a "fixed" version of Chancla (aka Calcaro), where they took all the QoL complaints aimed at Calculator and gave them to a whole new character
It's kind of annoying they didn't just fix Calcharo. His design is incredible, and he really didn't need too much tuning to work well. That being said, I don't mind having a maxed Calcharo and XY, and it effectively gives me a free echo set since I can swap it.
I was hoping you'd mention his quickswap potential because he can be run very effectively with Changli due to his concerto regen and also his time slow. Also, I've seen that in your rotation you should really try to E after the liberation state ends for more energy
He feels like if Calcharo and Yuanwu had a kid. I'm unsure which one deals more damage theoretically between Xiangli and Calcharo, but not having to sacrifice DPS just by dodging or getting interrupted is already a huge upgrade. Add to that the fast attack animations akin to Yuanwu's and you'll get parry after parry without even trying. I feel kinda bad since I've been a day 1 Calcharo main, but Xiangli Yao just straight up feels better to play. Thanks for the free Edward Elric, Kuro.
note how abyss surges is near 20 percent weaker than his sig. note how tight the tower clears were. anything less than his sig will probably make 3 doritos quite tight, to nigh impossible. best build your supports well, and rotate near perfect. Might have more leeway on towers with electro buffs, but losing 20% damage is gonna hurt those times a lot.
Calcharo, ult can miss, to play him smooth need some practice, you can miss heavy attack.During his ult your combo could get screwed leading to dps loss. Meanwhile xiangli yao is like the fix version of him with higher multiplier and smoother gameplay..
I heard for his sig weapon, the LT echo set is better? I see people calculated quite a bit more damage, esp considering the LT 4 cost being better than electro 4 costs options currently in game due to mechanics to trigger the dmg increase.

Hello! Still haven’t seen a showcase about the difference between lingering and electro set. I’m using electro set but I feel like lingering would be a better choice for consistency
Imo Jihnsi deals higher nuke as expected but this guy kills thing faster. Just in my case. Also I won't have to deal with the difficult dodging mechanic because you can't see the monsters (yes Jihnsi I hate that you're too flashy!)
Even with his weapon, you may want to use crit rate 4 cost, even with all crit rate rolls on your substats. My build barely hit 70% crit rate with crit rate 4 cost (one 3 cost only roll crit damage, the others are rolled crit rate and damage) and lvl80 weapon.
i still got him to 65-66% crit rate and he still most of the time crits. but im pulling for shorekeeper so her 10% crit rate + 20%% crit damage buff gonna do wonders to all my dps

Changli works pretty well as a teammate from what I've been playing so far. She buffs Liberation damage and works really well with quick swapping.
