$50 million from the parents and restaurant?! Unbelievable. I can’t think of any restaurant I’ve been to that offers security - especially not a wing joint! Also his family…their lives are ruined as well. Have them pay medical bills, but don’t bankrupt them.
I have an issue with suing the guys family. The parents are suffering believe me. I'm sure they are being ostracised in the community and they have essentially lost their son. They are not the ones that committed the crime. The father seemed genuinely horrified at his sons actions. Suing the restaurant is ridiculous.

I hope they lose more money than they make with these lawsuits, suing the poor restaurant and parents. The father gave most humble, dignified apology. Now Madison’s family’s little money grab idea is just pathetic.
Lately crimes committed from teenagers are coming more often than we could only imagine. She mentioned in her victim impact statement that a 17 yr old girl teenager should not know the feeling of getting stabbed. Well, no one should, not just a teen girl. She should've said no one.
She’s talking about herself because it’s a victim impact statement. At her age I was having fun, finishing high school, working at my first job, hanging out with friends. My first real boyfriend was in college and he was abusive, I had to get a restraining order. Let’s ask ourselves why so many young men are becoming abusers? In a society where mental health is supposed to be destigmatized, why are so many young men not getting the mental health help that they need?
@@Wildflower444 I notice it's not just men, but women have also been becoming more abusive, albeit at a smaller rate than men since men have higher propensity to do it. Things are the most toxic in history. Dating has become a health hazard for all parties. I believe and it's bigger than just men or women. I can't speculate at the cause. Just an observation I've made. There needs to be more focus on this issue because none of it should be happening.
How nice. Read on and learn more. Anything that gets such a big reaction it doesn’t make any sense may just not make sense because you don’t have all of the information, in many cases…. someone else in this comment section provided information on what the suit against them said.
Maybe the restaurant counter sue the Schemitz family for going to their establishment knowing that Madison was being stalked by Spencer, and thus causing an act of violence in the parking lot? The aftermath of this case is absolutely disgusting, due to greed.
I dont agree with them going after the place they were eating at when this happened. You can't control what someone else does. If someone is stalking and harassing your daughter you should address it through legal action and law enforcement. Until that happens I wouldnt be going out to eat in public where something like this ended up happening. Based on the families logic and grounds for a lawsuit they should sue themselves for not providing the security needed to protect their daughter, putting her in a low risk setting while shes involved in a personal high risk circumstance almost cost them their daughters life.

Legal action and restraining orders don't work either and they're not that easy to get even in severe cases. How do you know she didn't try? She can't just put her life on hold and hide from the world because possessive, controlling and toxic men with a tendency for violence exist. Disappointing to see the victim being blamed in this comment. How about men shouldn't be following and attacking women?
15:27 His statement falls on deaf ears. He needs to be kept far away from everyone. Anyone who would stalk an ex girlfriend of only a few months and run at her full speed like a maniac with a knife and stab her over and over and stab people who tried to help her is not fit for society. Ever.

And more importantly, WHAT DID THE RESTAURANT DO WRONG?? How could they even sue the restaurant? I am absolutely disgusted with this family and have lost all the empathy and respect for that mother and daughter duo. Ew. Just…ew. Also just how serious was the stalking if she never called the police? And instead of texting her friends that his truck was parked outside of the restaurant, why did they not have the waitress call the police when the waitress ASKED IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG? The ignorance is astounding. Sorry but them suing the restaurant is just bogus and apparently the waitress did say something soooo it’s clear to me that they just think they’re entitled to 50 mill just because. This infuriates me especially since the public pays those millions if they win!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Sue his parents -- sure! He was still a minor, and their financial responsibility. The restaurant -- no. They will likely be dropped from the lawsuit, early.
@@u.synlig I get where you're coming from but his parents or atleast his dad seemed like a really nice dude (I could be wrong) The man even said himself that his parents had nothing to do with it. He took full accountability for his actions.
@AddictIQ The suit doesn't allege criminal responsibility -- only financial responsibility. Many households carry insurance that would cover such liability incurred by a minor child of the policyholder.
If the family somehow successfully sues the restaurant, then the restaurant will have to start ask each patron at the door whether she or he being stalked by a homicidal maniac before deciding whether to accept the customer or turning her or him away.

I was supportive of the girl until her princess entitlement came out. She thinks she deserves 50 million from the restaurant because her and her mom didn't get free personal bodyguards courtesy of a restaurant 🤨. I saw that the restaurant has had fights before but that just makes her case make less sense. if she was so scared if her abusive ex why did she go to a restaurant that has had so many fights happen there? Dude got life in prison. That is more justice than what most get. The stabbing was only one persons fault. The stabber. No one elses. Not the servers, cooks, managers, customers, parents, or anyone else.
I am skeptical about them suing the restaurant. It isn't on the restaurant to offer armed security for its patrons. They didn't even know what was going on and surely didn't know what he was going to do. I think that is a really sheisty way to suck people dry. I lost a little respect for her after this.

Agreed!!!
They settle out of court. Its in their insurance company hands now. Restaurant will not be involved that much.
Lost every bit of sympathy when I found out they were suing the restaurant. Grifters.
$50 million from the parents and restaurant?! Unbelievable. I can’t think of any restaurant I’ve been to that offers security - especially not a wing joint! Also his family…their lives are ruined as well. Have them pay medical bills, but don’t bankrupt them.
Losing respect for the parents if they're suing the restaurant
Hello? Are you paying attention here?
I have an issue with suing the guys family. The parents are suffering believe me. I'm sure they are being ostracised in the community and they have essentially lost their son. They are not the ones that committed the crime. The father seemed genuinely horrified at his sons actions. Suing the restaurant is ridiculous.
I'm glad some people don't blame Spencer's parents. Raising a child is so hard and no-one is perfect. Like you said the parents have lost their son and are suffering big time. The father seemed so nice too. And of course suing the restaurant is just ridiculous.
exactly, thank you. people are so ruthless. so quick to call spencers family all these names and like essentially blame them when none of that should be happening. they have suffered enough
If they have a case then they have a case, if they don’t then it will be thrown out. Simple as that.
I was completely on her side until I found out she was suing the restaurant. WTF did the restaurant do wrong? It’s not their job to provide security. This is Spencer Pearson’s doing and nobody else’s. And Spencer Pearson got life.
I hope they lose more money than they make with these lawsuits, suing the poor restaurant and parents. The father gave most humble, dignified apology. Now Madison’s family’s little money grab idea is just pathetic.
parents shoud be sued there son has mental issues yet they did nothing but suing the restaurant no
it's not the responsibility of a restaurant to provide security for it's patrons. Suing the restaurant? That's disgusting.
Might as well sue your own daughter for dating him!!! I was on board but I lost empathy when I heard the restaurant was to be sued!!???
that’s funny😂😂 but yeah thats the same logic
The restaurant that they are suing is Mr. Chubby's Wings - according to an article. They had left the restaurant and were attacked after they left while headingto their car. Most likely the restaurant has more money than his parents.. I don’t think he should’ve got a life sentence. Nor do I think the victim should’ve spoken for 40 minutes.. it was a tragic event, no doubt..
Mother and daughter weren’t playing with a full deck so what do you expect?
Agreed 100%
As in law enforcement will do anything? They never do.
Ever.

Omg this story just went down the toilet for me once you mentioned them SUING THE RESTAURANT. Are you KIDDING ME?!!!!!!! Also not for nothing, finding mental health for his age today isn’t as easy as you think-parents definitely should have at least made an effort-BUT 50 MILLION?!!!!!! Imagine owning a restaurant, you cannot control this kind of behavior NOW EVERYONE dealing with shootings, stabbings, etc are gonna get sued. What if this was at a WaWa…. Where is their SECURITY?!!!!!! NOWHERE!!!!! What if she was stabbed in front of my house, would they sue me??? This is all BS!
I lost ALL respect and sympathy for them after learning this. They totally "shaded" themselves!
Suing the restaurant?!
Total cash grab and a move which loses all sympathy towards them.
My entire feeling towards this changed when they spoke of the lawsuit. That doesn’t sit right.
Imagine suing a restaurant for 50M because they did not have robocop taking care of their guests... Ridiculous
OMG they are seriously going to be suing the restaurant ? That seems a bit sleezy , get your own darn security
Justice was served, and his actions earned his life sentence. Yet, going after the parents and the restaurant is wrong. Going after others for his actions is not being grateful for the courts judgment.
Suing the restaurant? Really.
If they win against the restaurant, they should give the money to Kennedy Armstrong. He literally lost his livelihood.
I’m so sorry this happened to them but are restaurants responsible for providing security? I’m a little confused by this part
50 million lawsuit just makes them look shady, trying to cash in. Next they'll have a reality show..smh...
Are you kidding me? How GREEDY!! This is a money grab…I’m from St John’s county and my grandparents lived in Ponte Vedra and it’s the RICHEST SUBURB IN ST JOHNS COUNTY. What did his family do wrong? And more importantly, WHAT DID THE RESTAURANT DO WRONG?? How could they even sue the restaurant? I pray that they lose both lawsuits, they don’t deserve 50 MILLION because they weren’t babysitting customers. Same with the boys family, you can’t blame them for his actions. Unreal. 🤬🤬🤬
im so with you on this
Wow suing the restaurant how is that thier fault thats kinda bs !!! Sounds like a big money grab to me
That's not restaurant's fault ffs
I felt bad until I found out they were suing his parents and the restaurant. For how much? 50 Million.
He looks like he's 30+
And going after the restaurant is a stretch
Breaking up with someone nowadays is terrifying, so many fragile, unstable egos loose out there ick.
Not even breaking up but a simple “no” to a “compliment” or being asked out has gotten dangerous.
Multiple attempted murders over a 5 year old tantrum, given a life sentence.
If the family somehow successfully sues the restaurant, then the restaurant will have to start ask each patron at the door whether she or he being stalked by a homicidal maniac before deciding whether to accept the customer or turning her or him away.
Ran to the comments to be sure that I wasn't the only one thinking suing the restaurant is bogus. Since when do restaurants have security? I don't love that at all.
Oh, the spoiled jock syndrome...
The restaurant is getting sued? That's excessively grubby!
What did they do wrong in this? Are they meant to supply anti-stab vests for customers outside the store?
WTF is wrong with the US?
It’s sad what happened and no one should ever go through such a violent event but suing the restaurant and the guys parents it’s beyond all this tragedy. The restaurant didn’t have anything to do with the attack. The attack happened outside way outside the restaurant. The parents don’t have any control of their adult son. Suing business and private citizens for money is outrageous

I am skeptical about them suing the restaurant. It isn't on the restaurant to offer armed security for its patrons. How is the restaurant responsible when they had absolutely no clue who these people were nor that they were in danger of being attacked by anyone? 💯

Sounds like they’re just looking for a huge money grab! Kind of makes you wonder what kind of people they really are! No, she didn’t deserve the attack, anymore than the other people in restaurant that they are suing deserve to be involved!
Ok...really?! ... Then the restaurant should countersue them for bringing that danger to their establishment. Both the mother and the daughter knew they had a stalker. They put the restaurant and all of its patrons in danger! How about that!
