Minor Correction: An example at 21:19 erroneously states that the Multiple Attack Penalty applied to maneuvers like Push is -5 when it should be -4. The remaster edition set all maneuvers like these to have the Agile trait if they are being performed as unarmed. What's important to remember here is that MAP does apply. **This is an updated version of a previously published video. This version corrects some erroneous information regarding the Stand Still feat that was present in the original version (i.e., the original version stated that the Multiple Attack Penalty applies to Stand Still, but it does not).
Its so funny that your old video recently popped up in my feed like 3 days ago, i watched it and whn you said that map applies to stand still i went "wait what? No it doesnt, does it?"
Flurry does work, monastic weaponry does not since mountain stance specifies that you can only make *insert name* unarmed attacks. So you can hold your staff or whatever but you can onky make your flurry of blows with (iirc.) Falling stone unarmed attack.
Having to wait until you're in an encounter to enter a stance is kinda silly. That's like saying you can't draw a weapon unless you're in encounter mode. I understand the balance angle, but how would you justify it to the player in-world?
@@grantholomeu3725 Yeah, but if you know a fight is about to start, what's stopping you from getting into a stance? There's a feat that allows you to enter one when an encounter starts, but I don't think that's a good enough justification on its own to not allow stances outside of combat. Your example applies to having weapons drawn as well.

good to know, I just started a pf2e remaster play as a monk. This video helps a ton, as does all your content!

Great timing! Tomorrow I'm having my second game with a monk and I finally understand how flurry of blows work. Thanks a lot, Boss!
I love all How It's Played videos!
A question, can flurry of blows and monastic weaponry work with some defensive stances like mountain stance?

You don't walk around in a horse stance, front stance, crane stance, etc.

@@lordjingo5419especially when you look at martial arts competitions, they get into stances before fight begins.
21:19 isn't all Grapple, Push and etf Agile now?
So... -4...?
Yes, you are correct. It should have been -4 instead of -5.
@@HowItsPlayed Goodluck, bro.
Never expected to help you that way, love you!
Is the remastered Monk out ? Is that why we have this video ?
Looks like I completely missed it but it was release months ago
