    breaking out that fon router reminded me of this barcode scanner that was shaped like a cat, called a CueCat, that was included for subscribers of WIRED magazine back in like 2000. It has absolutely no connection to the subject matter in the video, except it was one of those really weird pieces of tech ephemera that I wish I'd held onto... for some reason.

    Ark, Wigles Crimson Chin, is there any chance we can someday get more filtering options on the website map? Or like using the wireshark OUI lookup tool to display the vendor names along with the BSSID on the map? Just a random idea.. I was thinking, maybe that would make it easier to see at a quick glance who we have to kindly notify that they have to upgrade their router, like upstanding citizens should

      So the OUI will give you the manufacturer, but not necessarily whether it needs upgrading. It would be impractical to do it in the tiny in-tile pixel labels (indeed, those need to go away), but it could be added to the "click" lookup for the nearest AP.
