Primebook looks like laptop under 15000 rupees and it comes with prime OS with 4G Sim connectivity feature but this is not a Windows Laptop.

Compared to other chrome books this is good enough to stand on those positions, that is if they maintain a constant pricing.
But I don't think it is worth against an actual laptop or computer for a long term.
This thing is crap if someone's budget is really tight just go for refurbished laptops you can get good deal of price range around 14k to 15k with old gen i5 much better then this junk if you find good enough you can get 900 series of nvidia graphics also

Not recommended for students above 10 standard but can be used for specific purpose like reading, browsing internet using web apps like google or microsoft spreadsheet, word document, presentation etc.
Overall a good initiative from the company for people who have limited use case and low budget.
If you slightly increase your budget you can get much better laptop than this crap or if yours budget is tight just go for refurbished laptops they are not bad if you research little about it you can get good deal at 14k to 16k range

Nah it's crap, just get a tablet from samsung or if you can spend like 30k get the iPad 9gen, that thing will easily last years. You can even buy a second hand ipad, 2 years old, you'll get proper CPU and gpu and it will last still 3 more years of updates. Ofcourse, it'll last even more if you care for it. This is SHIT.
@@ThatOneAmpharos Depending in which city you are. Most of the cities in computer market you'll find refurbished laptop dealers, big and small business both. They buy in bulk and sell at an resonable rate and sometimes if you're luck you'll get high end laptop for almost 1/3 the original cost, and they may also offer few months warranty on the device.
So check out in your city where is the computer market where all shops are selling computers.

And I guarantee you those beasts last years. Ofcourse buy the cheapest ones, even the galaxy tablets are not bad at all. You get S-pen, so you can take notes as well....
With chromebook, I think it's better than this definitely, but will still recomment tabs personally, you can pair a cheap keyboard with them, and you'll get a better overall experience than a chromebook for learning essentially (camera, mic if you do zoom etc. are better and it's more portable).

I have played Android games on it,
Did some coding on the on VS code linux
Heck I even installed Apache server on it and hosted an entire website,
Have done college works on google docs, google sheet.
Believe me I even tried kali Linux on a usb drive on it and oh boy it didn't disappoint me at all.
Yes the display quality is not good, but if you forget to shut it down and just put the lid down.
Come back after 1 week, you'll find at most it has consumed 20% battery.
Get it dude it's an awesome piece of tech

No it is not sufficient for a student upto class 10 as it can not be used for java programming which is part of the syllabus.
Yes one can use apps like Decoder to run java programs but they are network dependent and are not as powerful as running natively as these apps will time out when the execution time of the program is more than 30 seconds.
I think other than the Design and build....this one is a better "Bada Phone" that the Jio book...... 😝

Well, I recently bought a second hand dell laptop from the offline market....It has an i3 6th gen processor and 4 GB ram.....I am a student and most of my work is completed by it....It has no scratches or anything.....I bought it for 11k....and I think it's way better than the prime book......

True, this laptop is only for upto 10th class max. From 11th class onwards, study is not limited to just 2-3 hrs of online classes.
You want a reliable machine which can do anything you throw at it as fast as possible. You don't want to waste your time fixing bugs, finding workarounds. Primebook has terrible performacnce, it can't handle multitasking. 2nd hand windows laptop is your only good option.
Yes I agree, especially for programming. But if you don't program and just study. I think an iPad with a stylus writer and wireless keyboard is the best option.
It will cost you around 30K, without student discount.
regarding battery .. my HP chromebook gives 10 - 12 hours battery .. just for reference .. dunno abt primebook if sim is not used

PrimeOS is an interesting idea tbh. 👍🏻💯 The developers have vision and can benefit a lot using the open source that Android is. Overall, the product has good potential imo.

yes im using a samsung tablet it is best for study... generally tablets are good for watching videos and stuffs. but i suggest u add 3-4k in your budget and purchase redmi pad believe me bro! its better in many ways

Chrome OS would have been much better now that it supports linux apps. it would have made it viable for a much wider audience

@@divyamthakur Chrome OS is not open source. Only Android is open source. Rest every Google OS is closed, even Android TV. Also, Chrome OS was made for x86 processors. It will not run on a Mediatek arm processor. Primebook cannot run ChromeOS.

Lenovo IdeaPad D330 Intel Celeron 128gb is a better choice in my opinion, It is a proper windows laptop with touchscreen as well around 20k (will need to increase budget).

you can do it still, with termux, acode, code server, etc but the experience is clunky and never comes anywhere close to a real Linux / windows system

Nice product but I bought Penta windows tablet in 2016 for 5,500 rs it still works but there are few issues with it despite being windows I had difficulty using it to make research paper. For Normal use its fine though buying good smartphone is better idea.

I think the big fail of the Primebook is the 15,000 price point.
When people are expected to buy phones above 20K, then why a laptop under 15K? Laptops are far more functional, usable, and needed for real work. Can only imagine the wonders of a 20K Rupee model with UFS Storage, a Snapdragon chipset. Afterall, the promise of this is super-big. This seems to be so much better than the Chromebook except these aspects (performance) and I don't even want to compare with the pathetic JioBook
