Future World Champions would do the same or better, so it isn't something that is really special. Social media is a way of life now. Online chess standards have also evolved to become much stronger these days compared to 10-20 years ago.
Wow! It is so beautiful watching Magnus play! Look at the coordination of the pieces, in the first game his queen is in the battery with the rook and bishop!
@1:04:10 A great positional player does not blindly follow universal positional rules. Magnus wants to keep blacks bad Knight on h5 as long as possible, HOWEVER this is not at the expense of black getting some counter play against his excellent Bishop on e5. Positional chess at high level is akin to comparing apples and oranges, and making an accurate determination.
I had the same reaction LOL... I am sure it's very basic but the SPEED at which he acknowledges this... you know he had the following 15 moves INSTANTLY in his mind...
The most exciting is the way he finds resources to play this easily drawish ending for a win. And especially the speed and pressure which Magnus demonstrates.
Magnus was born to play chess, understands things so well. Pichot moves a pawn and Magnus says I think that was wrong, believe that weakens his position. Then way ahead he says I'll will be a pawn up and I'm like huh, then he ends up a pawn! How many hours a day do I have to play to be able to see these things, not even as fast as Magnus but just to see them? I am about a 1400-1500 now. This guy is unreal, him playing 3 people while blindfolded seems like magic!
I see the comments , and I am what? Magnus was bound to lose some games with a winning probability of about 0.8. The sample of games is also small. Even so winning 8, out of 11 is pretty close to his winning probability based on the difference in Elo with Pichot. Against players like Ding Liren everyone is obssessed see Magnus play , Magnus's winning probabilities are a little over .5, meaning he will win with a very narrow difference, and a great sample of games needed for this to be seen. The reason why he was easily winning games in previous banter blitz tourneys, against 2800+ players , is because they were not really 2800+ players.
@@jakeswagerson9941 he does realize that. Sometimes it"s good to see the game from opponents point of view. if you have problems playing like that, you must be under 1500, not under 2000.

@@rasmus5341 that covers two possibilities, and leaves the third: Nxd6, after which White would have to resign, as the trick he countered on, Nd8+, doesn't work because Rg8 covers d8.

Always maintain a time less than Magnus as u don't want Magnus to say " ohh I'm short on time, I will have to play faster" only to beat u faster

Congratulations to Pichot for some great games and to Magnus for displaying such winning character throughout.

Because white can't take the only black rook on g7? And it's not even white's turn
